Aldersey is a civil parish in the unitary authority of Cheshire West and Chester and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. It contains the villages of Aldersey Green grid reference SJ461567 and Aldersey Park SJ459561, and is about 9 miles (14 km) south-east of Chester. According to the 2001 census the parish had a population of 72, increasing to 132 at the 2011 census.

Broxton is a village and civil parish in the unitary authority of Cheshire West and Chester and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. The village is 11 miles south of Chester, and only 10 miles east of Wrexham in Wales. The civil parish also contains the small settlements of Barnhill, Bolesworth, Brown Knowl, Fuller's Moor and Meadow Bank. According to the 2001 Census it had a total population of 390, increasing to 461 at the 2011 census.

Lower Carden Hall is a historic house in the civil parish of Carden, Cheshire, England. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade I listed building. The oldest part of the house is the north wing which dates back to the 15th century, or earlier. A south cross-wing was added in the middle of the 16th century and the north wing was enlarged and re-fronted in the early 17th century. Alterations and additions were made to the rear of the house in the late 19th century. The major part of the house is timber-framed with oak frames and plaster panels on a sandstone plinth. The north end gable is built in stone and brick. The rear wing is of brick with steeply pitched grey slate roofs. On the north gable and on south wall of the cross-wing are massive projecting chimneys of stone and brick. The house was substantially restored in about 1984 with a brick inner skin and steelwork.

Chowley is a hamlet and civil parish in the Borough of Cheshire West and Chester and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. It is approximately 9.5 miles (15.3 km) south east of Chester and about 1.3 miles (2.1 km) south west of Tattenhall. In the 2001 census Chowley had a population of 23. The census statistics have been combined with the neighbouring civil parishes of Handley and Golborne David, and the figure was given as 227. In the 2011 census these parishes were again combined, with the population recorded as 253.

The Whitchurch and Tattenhall Railway was a line in Cheshire built by the London and North Western Railway in the 19th century. The branch, which was 14.5 mi (23.3 km) long, connected the North Wales Coast Line from Chester with the Welsh Marches line and Oswestry, Ellesmere and Whitchurch Railway at Whitchurch. Although only a branch line, the route was built to main line standards with double track along its entire length. It was used on occasion to stable the British Royal Train in sidings on the eve of official visits by members of the Royal Family.

Barton is a village and civil parish in the unitary authority of Cheshire West and Chester and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. The village is located near the Welsh border, about twelve miles south of Chester and only about eight miles east of Wrexham in Wales. The name Barton means 'barley farm/settlement', derived from the Old English bere (barley) and tūn (a farmstead or settlement).Barton was a township in Farndon parish of Broxton Hundred, which became a civil parish in 1866. The population was recorded as 143 in 1801, 146 in 1851, 126 in 1901 and had fallen to 109 by 1951. In 2001 the village had a population of 71. According to the 2001 census, the civil parish was combined with neighbouring Stretton civil parish and the figure was given as 122. In the 2011 census Barton and Stretton were again combined. The population had increased by one to 123.The A534 road passes through the village. The National Cycle Network Regional Route 70 passes just to the south of the village. The ancient church serving Barton is at Farndon, St. Chad's. The pub is the "Cock o' Barton".

Stretton Lower Hall is in the parish of Stretton in Cheshire, England. It was built in 1660, on a site that was originally moated. The house is constructed in brick with a slate roof and a sandstone cellar. It has three storeys plus a cellar, with a symmetrical front containing shaped gables. There are dentil bands of brick between the storeys. The house is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building.
