The Prime Minister's XI or PM's XI (formerly Australian Prime Minister's Invitation XI) is an invitational cricket team picked by the Prime Minister of Australia for an annual match held at the Manuka Oval in Canberra against an overseas touring team. The Australian team usually consists of up-and-coming grade cricketers from the Canberra region and state players.

St Christopher's Cathedral, officially The Cathedral of St Christopher, is the main place of Roman Catholic worship and the seat of the Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn, in the city of Canberra, in the Australian Capital Territory, Australia.The Cathedral of St Christopher is located in the suburb of Forrest, but in the local centre known as Manuka.

St Paul's Church is an Anglican church in the suburb of Griffith in Canberra, Australia. Founded in 1939, it is part of the Anglican Diocese of Canberra and Goulburn. It is listed in the Australian Capital Territory Heritage Register as an "...excellent example of an Inter-War Gothic church with Art Deco influences". It was the first place in Australia to install a combination organ and has the only unrestricted peal of bells in the Australian Capital Territory. It was the first Anglican church to be built following the foundation of Canberra as the national capital (St John's in Reid having been consecrated in 1845, before Canberra's foundation) and is the first Anglican parish in South Canberra. It is situated on the corner of Canberra Avenue and Captain Cook Crescent, opposite Manuka Oval and the Manuka shops.

Manuka ( MAH-nə-kə, sometimes pronounced as Ma-NOO-ka) is an area in the Inner South district of Canberra, Australia covering parts of the suburbs of Griffith and Forrest. Manuka Shops, Manuka Oval, Manuka Swimming Pool, and Manuka Circle take their name from the park in the area.

The Embassy of Russia in Australia is the Russian embassy in Canberra, Australian Capital Territory. It is located at 78 Canberra Avenue, Griffith, to the east of the Manuka shopping precinct. Russia also has a consulate in Sydney, New South Wales. The allocation of the site was made by the National Capital Planning and Development Committee (NCPDC), later named the National Capital Authority (NCA).

Telopea Park School (French: Lycée Franco-Australien de Canberra) is a government international primary and secondary school in Canberra, Australia. It is named after the adjacent Telopea Park. It was founded in 1923, making it the oldest school in Canberra. Telopea Park School is one of the few public schools in the Australian Capital Territory to teach students from Kindergarten to Year 10 and is the only bi-national school in Canberra. Recognised in a treaty, it is fully accredited by the French Ministry of Education and offers a bilingual program from Kindergarten to Year 10. It is also one of two high schools in the ACT to be part of the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme, having gained IB membership in 2006. The school buildings have been heritage-listed by the ACT Heritage Council.

Telopea Park is one of the oldest parks in Canberra, Australia. The name of the park is from Walter Burley Griffin's original plan for Canberra where he planned Telopea Park at the end of Sydney Avenue. The park is named after the floral emblem of New South Wales, also known as the Waratah. Griffin planned that the state capital city avenues were terminated with a park named after the generic botanical name for a native plant from that particular state. The park covers 0.079 km².The park was established in 1922 and is very long and thin, with many large native and introduced trees. A stormwater drain runs along the middle of the park, which is crossed by several bridges. The park has barbecue areas and playground equipment, and is a popular destination. It was listed by the ACT Heritage Council in 2012.The park is bounded by Telopea Park West (street) and Telopea Park East (street) on either side, with Manuka Oval at the southern end, across New South Wales crescent, and Bowen drive on the Northern End, near Lake Burley Griffin. Telopea Park School is located adjacent to the southwest end of the park. The park is between the suburbs of Barton and Kingston close to Lake Burley Griffin.

Griffith is an early inner-south suburb of Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, Australia. Griffith contains the Manuka Shopping Centre, one of the earliest shopping areas built in Canberra. Noted buildings in the suburb include the Russian Embassy and St Paul's Anglican Church. Griffith, sized at approximately 3 km², is one of Canberra's oldest suburbs, with several of its streets designed according to Walter Burley Griffin's original designs for Canberra. The suburb has 20 parks covering nearly 12% of the total area.

Centenary House was a building in Canberra, Australia. It consisted of five levels and was located at 19 National Circuit, Barton. It was the national headquarters of the Australian National Audit Office (usually known as the ANAO, a Commonwealth Government entity). The building was owned until July 2005 by John Curtin House Limited, an entity wholly owned by the ALP. The leasing of part of Centenary House to the ANAO was the subject of political controversy for more than ten years. Centenary House was built in 1991 and the ALP (through Lend Lease, a property company) negotiated a lease with the ANAO. This lease began on 23 September 1993, for 15 years (that is, it is to conclude on 23 September 2008). The total area that was leased was 6,297 square metres. In 1993, the rent to be charged was $367.95 per square metre. Due to a "ratchet clause", which specifies that the annual rent would increase by 9% or market rates (whichever is the greater), in 2004 the annual rent is $949.47. The current estimated market price in Canberra for rented space is $330.00. The Federal Opposition (the Liberal-National Coalition at that time) demanded an enquiry to what they saw as a "rort" and the Keating ALP Government set up a Royal Commission. The Royal Commission (headed by Trevor Morling QC) found that the rent charged "was a fair market rental for accommodation in a building such as Centenary House. This was supported by extensive market evidence and there is nothing to suggest that it was excessive". The ratchet clause was also found as justified because it was "well supported by historical rent movements" and that "the length of the term is not disadvantageous to the Commonwealth". A second Royal Commission was appointed by the Howard government, and during 2004 Howard government ministers, particularly Tony Abbott, repeatedly accused the ALP of improperly profiting from the alleged "rort" of the lease. The Royal Commission reported in December 2004. The report of the Royal Commissioner, Hon David Hunt, AO QC, found that the original inquiry was inadequate. It found that the rent was excessive and should not have been entered into by a prudent government. The report was critical of several public servants, but did not make any findings of corrupt conduct by John Curtin House Limited or the Australian Labor Party. In July 2005, the ALP National Secretary, Tim Gartrell, announced that the building had been sold for more than $30 million.In November 2021 Centenary House was demolished. It is to be replaced with six-storey office building.

The R. G. Menzies House, also known colloquially as Liberal Headquarters, or simply Menzies House, is the official headquarters of the Australian Federal Liberal Party. It is also home to the party's think tank, the Menzies Research Centre. It was built in the Georgian architectural-style and is described as a "two-floored, red-brick house." It is located in the Canberra suburb of Barton, less than one kilometre from Parliament House. The building was reported to have cost AU£65,000 and was opened by then-Prime Minister Robert Menzies on 9 November 1965. Headquarters for the Federal Liberal Party, it currently houses the "Federal Secretariat" of the party and staff of the Menzies Research Centre. After renovation in 1994 the building was re-opened by Robert Menzies' wife Pattie and had its name changed to R. G. Menzies House. The revamped building cost AU$1.5 million.At the entrance front of the building is a bust of Menzies. The bust was sculpted by Melbourne sculptor V. E. Greenhalgh.

Forrest (postcode: 2603) is a suburb of Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, Australia. Forrest is named after Sir John Forrest, an explorer, legislator, federalist, Premier of Western Australia, and one of the fathers of the Australian Constitution. Streets in Forrest are named after explorers and governors. According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics Forrest is the second most Socio-Economic advantaged location in Australia after the neighbouring suburb of Barton. Forrest is one of the few suburbs in Canberra built to the original Canberra plans. It contains many circular and geometric patterns in its streets and can be quite confusing to drive in. Forrest was renamed from the earlier suburb Blandfordia (the name of the Christmas Bell) and gazetted as a suburb in 1928. South Blandfordia became part of the new suburb of Griffith at the same time. The original residents of Forrest were mostly senior public servants who were moved from Melbourne.
