Deans is a small community within the town of Livingston in West Lothian, Scotland. Deans is situated in the northern part of Livingston, The western area of Deans was formerly known as Livingston Station, as it is the location of former oil works and a railway station. Many people who have lived in this area for a long time often refer to it as such. In 2010 the population of Deans was 3,641

Starlaw distillery (sometimes known as Glen Turner distillery) is a grain whisky distillery located at Bathgate in West Lothian, Scotland. The distillery opened in 2010 and is owned by French drinks group La Martiniquaise, as part of its Scottish subsidiary Glen Turner Company, Along with Glen Moray distillery in Speyside it provides whisky for the company's Cutty Sark and Label 5 blended Scotch whisky brands.The distillery is integrated with a vatting, blending and bottling plant and has a capacity of 400,000 bottles per year. The distillery can produce 25 million litres annually and has 29 ageing warehouses (cellars) across 75 hectares at the distillery to allow for the maturation of over 600,000 barrels.In 2021, plans were submitted to West Lothian Council to extend the distillery site and create 21 new maturation warehouses. However, the planning application was rejected by the council in August 2021, following a list of objections received.

Deans Community High School is a secondary level school, in Deans, Livingston, Scotland. The school opened in 1978, and is co-educational, with 1279 pupils.

The Almond Valley Light Railway is a 2 ft 6 in (762 mm) narrow gauge heritage railway running at the Almond Valley Heritage Trust site at Livingston, Scotland. The railway operates at weekends between Easter and the end of September and daily during some school holiday periods. There are two stations, both with waiting shelters and run round loops. A small two-road loco shed is provided at the heritage centre end of the line. There is a storage siding here also.

The Museum of the Scottish Shale Oil Industry was created in 1990, to preserve the history of the shale industry in West Lothian and beyond. It is sited on a former mill at Millfield, near Livingston, Scotland. It is attached to the Almond Valley Heritage Centre, a large farm and play area.

"Deer Hill" is another peak of the same hill, to the northeast of the main peak. It is the highest hill in the Livingston area, and Arthur's Seat and the Pentland Hills can be seen from here, as well as a view down the Almond valley.

Livingston Village is a village in West Lothian, dating back to the 12th century. Originally a farming village in West Lothian it is now in the heart of the town of Livingston.

Bangour General Hospital was a hospital just west of the village of Dechmont, West Lothian, Scotland. It had its origins during the Second World War when hospital bed numbers in Scotland were greatly expanded to deal with the anticipated increase in civilian and military war casualties. The Emergency Hospital Service (Scotland) scheme resulted in seven new hospitals being built, while at Bangour Village Hospital in West Lothian an annexe of five ward blocks was built and this developed into Bangour General Hospital after the war. This hospital served the population of West Lothian as a general hospital and also included a maxillo-facial unit serving the Lothian region and a burns and plastic surgery unit serving much of east Scotland, the Borders and the Highland region. The hospital services were transferred to the newly built St John's Hospital at Livingston during 1989–90, and Bangour General Hospital closed in 1990 and was subsequently demolished.

Bangour Village Hospital was a psychiatric hospital located west of Dechmont in West Lothian, Scotland. During the First World War it formed part of the much larger Edinburgh War Hospital.
