The Quail Fire was a wildfire that burned during the 2020 California wildfire season southwest of Winters and north of Vacaville in Solano County, California in the United States. Igniting on Saturday, June 6, within the rural confines of Quail Canyon, the fire ballooned to an estimated 1,837 acres (743 ha) and destroyed three structures including one residential property. The fire was fully contained on Wednesday, June 10, 2020, and the cause remains under investigation.

The Grant Fire was a wildfire that burned east of the city of Sacramento near the rural community of Sloughhouse in Sacramento County, California in the United States. It was reported on the afternoon of Friday, June 12, near Grant Line Road the fire quickly grew to the size of 5,042 acres (2,040 ha) as it burned predominantly in light flashy fuels and grasslands as it was fanned by heavy winds in the area. There were no reports of injuries and only one structure was damaged in the fire. However, during the fires peak there were mandatory evacuations ordered near and around Glory Lane and Prairie City OHV Park.

Pleasants Ranch or Hoskins Ranch is a historic ranch located in Vacaville, California, United States. It features late Victorian and Queen Anne architecture. It was used for domestic subsistence agriculture. There are 12 historic buildings on the land including agricultural outbuildings, a single dwelling, processing, animal facility, storage, and secondary structures. It is situated on 4.5 acres and there is a 13th contributing building. The main house dates from 1891, and was designed by architect Allen A. Cook from Sacramento. The ranch includes a gazebo from c.1892, a smoke house from 1877, a stock barn from c.1900, a buggy barn from 1902, and more.

The 1892 Vacaville–Winters earthquakes occurred in northern California as a large doublet on April 19 and April 21. Measured on a seismic scale that is based on an isoseismal map or the event's felt area, the 6.4 Mla and 6.2 Mla  events were assigned a maximum Mercalli intensity of IX (Violent), and affected the North Bay and Central Valley areas. The total damage was estimated to be between $225,000 and 250,000 and one person was killed. No evidence of fault movement on the surface of the ground was observed as a result of either of the strong shocks. Both occurred in the domain of the San Andreas strike-slip system of faults, but their focal mechanism is uncertain.

Rancho Los Putos also called Rancho Lihuaytos was a 44,384-acre (179.62 km2) Mexican land grant in present-day Solano County, California given in 1843 by Governor Manuel Micheltorena to Juan Felipe Peña and Juan Manuel Vaca.The Los Putos name comes from the nearby Putah Creek (formerly Rio Los Putos). The grant encompassed present day Vacaville, all of Lagoon Valley and stretched into what is now, Yolo County almost to Davis. It also reached into the Vaca Mountains.

Lake Solano is a reservoir formed by Putah Diversion Dam impounding Putah Creek, located in the Vaca Mountains within Yolo County and northern Solano County, California. The California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment has issued a safe eating advisory for any fish caught in Putah Creak including Lake Solano due to elevated levels of mercury.

The Winters Fire was a wildfire that started on Thursday, July 6, 2017 in the Vaca Mountains, near Lake Berryessa west of the city of Winters, in Yolo County, northern California. The fire was named the Winters incident due to its proximity to the city.

Hartley is a census-designated place (CDP) in Solano County, California. Hartley sits at an elevation of 131 feet (40 m). The 2010 United States census reported Hartley's population was 2,510.

Allendale is a census-designated place (CDP) in Solano County, California, United States. Allendale is located along Interstate 505 6.5 miles (10.5 km) west of Dixon. The population was 1,506 at the 2010 census.

Wolfskill Grant Orchards is historical site built in 1842 in Winters, California in Solano County, California. The Wolfskill Grantis a California Historical Landmark No. 804 listed on June 28, 1965. Horticulturist John R. Wolfskill (1804-1897) settled on land of the Rancho Rio de los Putos a First Mexican Republic California Land Grant near the present-day City of Winters in 1842 after marriage to Magdalena Lugo. Wolfskill, also called John Reed, brought with him seeds and plant cuttings and started new horticulture fruit industry in Northern California. Wolfskill came west on the Santa Fe Trail. Wolfskill worked at teamster in Santa Fe, New Mexico before coming west. John Reid Wolfskill was born on 11 September 1804, in Madison, Kentucky. Wolfskill married Susan Cooper on January 10, 1860, in Colusa, California. Wolfskill died on May 27, 1897, in Yolo, California at the age of 92. In 1938, Wolfskill daughter, Mrs. Frances Wolfskill Taylor Wilson donated 107.28 acres of Wolfskill plant nursery and orchard University of California. University of California opened the University of California Experimental Farm on the University of California, Davis land part of the UC Davis Plant Sciences Department. A historical marker is at University of California Experimental Farm. The marker was placed there by California State Park Commission, the Solano County Historical Society in 1966.Uncle Burt's Tree is marker nearby placed by Vacaville Historical Marker Committee in 2002.

Vacaville High School is an American public high school in the Vacaville Unified School District located in the city of Vacaville, California, serving the north side of the city and the far northern unincorporated communities of Allendale, Bucktown and Hartley.

Trinity Baptist Church is a Baptist Christian church in Vacaville, California. It is notable for its annual Christmastime Live Nativity event featuring singers, actors, and live animals. In 2016, Trinity Baptist Church expanded its facilities with a new foyer.Everett Nourse, who was inducted into the American Theater Organ Society Hall of Fame in 1998, was the longtime organist at Trinity Baptist Church.Trinity Baptist Church's current Senior Pastor is Greg Davidson, but the church was pastored for 43 years by Milton Steck who retired in 2014.
