Sliedrecht (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈslidrɛxt] (listen)) is a town and municipality in the western Netherlands, in the province of South Holland. The municipality covers an area of 14.01 km2 (5.41 sq mi) of which 1.17 km2 (0.45 sq mi) is covered by water. Sliedrecht is known for the many large dredging companies (including Boskalis and IHC Merwede) that come from it. The Dredging Festival takes place in Sliedrecht every two years. The first IKEA store in the Netherlands opened in Sliedrecht in 1978, but it closed in 2006. Sliedrecht is also the site of the Nationaal Baggermuseum (National Dredging Museum) - featuring dredging and salvage.

Dubbeldam is a former village in the Dutch province of South Holland. It was located to the east of the city of Dordrecht. It is now a part of that city. De Mijl was a separate municipality until 1857, when it became part of Dubbeldam.Dubbeldam was a separate municipality until 1970, when it merged with Dordrecht.

Dordrecht Stadspolders is a railway station in Dordrecht, Netherlands. The station is located on the MerwedeLingelijn between Dordrecht and Geldermalsen (part of the Elst–Dordrecht railway). It was opened on 27 May 1990 and only had a single track. Arriva has operated the service since December 2006, but Qbuzz took over services on 9 December 2018. The station is in the residential area Stadspolders. The station was expanded in 2011, with the building of a second track and platform, to allow 4 trains per hour in each direction. The connection between this station and the Dordrecht railway station has also two tracks.

Matena is a small village in the west of the Netherlands. It is located in the municipality of Papendrecht, South Holland, east of the town Papendrecht.

De Biesbosch National Park is one of the largest national parks in the Netherlands and one of the last extensive areas of freshwater tidal wetlands in Northwestern Europe. The Biesbosch ('forest of sedges' or 'rushwoods') consists of a large network of rivers and smaller and larger creeks with islands. The vegetation is mostly willow forests, although wet grasslands and fields of reed are common as well. The Biesbosch is an important wetland area for waterfowl and has a rich flora and fauna. It is especially important for migrating geese.

Kievitswaard is a hamlet in the Dutch province of North Brabant. It is a part of the municipality of Altena, and lies about 10 km east of Dordrecht. Kievitswaard lies in the Biesbosch area.It is not a statistical entity. and the postal authorities have placed it under Werkendam. It was first mentioned in 1845 as Kievitswaard (De), and is the name of a polder. It is a combination of "land on water" and the northern lapwing bird.The hamlet used to have place name signs, however they have been removed again. Kievitswaard was home to 12 people in 1840. Nowadays, it consists of about 40 house.

Wijngaarden is a village in the Dutch province of South Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Molenlanden, and lies about 7 km northeast of Dordrecht. In 2001, the village of Wijngaarden had 300 inhabitants. The built-up area of the village was 0.030 km2, and contained 99 residences. The statistical area "Wijngaarden", which also can include the peripheral parts of the village, as well as the surrounding countryside, has a population of around 730.Wijngaarden was a separate municipality between 1817 and 1986, when it became part of Graafstroom., which in turn became part of Molenwaard in 2013.

The Amer is a river in the Dutch province of North Brabant. It is a continuation of the Bergse Maas river from the river Donge near Raamsdonksveer to the point where it joins the river Nieuwe Merwede to form the Hollands Diep estuary, and has a total length of approximately 20 kilometres (12 mi). The Amer is a major navigation route. It forms the south boundary of the Biesbosch National Park. In 1886, the splitting of the Maas and of the Waal made the Amer the mouth of the Maas. Before anthropogenic actions in the early 1900s, salmon used to reach the Bergse Maas through the Amer.The river is also known because the Amercentrale, one of the biggest power plants in the Netherlands, is located on its bank. As a result, ships transporting coal for the plant use the eastern part of the river, mainly coming from the Wilhelmina Canal.

The Rhine–Meuse–Scheldt delta is a river delta in the Netherlands formed by the confluence of the Rhine, the Meuse (Dutch: Maas) and the Scheldt rivers. In some cases, the Scheldt delta is considered a separate delta to the Rhine–Meuse delta. The result is a multitude of islands, branches and branch names, in which a waterway that appears to be one continuous stream may have numerous separate names for different sections, e.g. Rhine → Bijlands Kanaal → Pannerdens Kanaal → Nederrijn → Lek → Nieuwe Maas → Het Scheur → Nieuwe Waterweg. Since the Rhine contributes most of the water, the term "Rhine Delta" is commonly used, although this name is also used for the delta where the Alpine Rhine flows into Lake Constance. By some calculations, the Rhine–Meuse–Scheldt delta covers 25,347 km2 (9,787 sq mi), making it the largest in Europe. The Rhine–Meuse–Scheldt delta is economically extremely important, since the three rivers are major navigable waterways. The delta is the entrance from the North Sea to the German and Central European hinterland (and to a lesser extent France). Major ports in the delta are Rotterdam, Antwerp (Belgium), Vlissingen, Amsterdam (through the Amsterdam–Rhine Canal), and Ghent (through the Ghent–Terneuzen Canal). The land areas in the delta are protected from flooding by the Dutch Delta Works.
