Vegas Creek was a census-designated place in Clark County, Nevada (southeast of Las Vegas) during the 1970 United States Census. The population recorded was 8,970. The census area dissolved and was added to the CDP area of Sunrise Manor in 1980. The ZIP code serving the area is 89121.

Chaparral High School is a public high school in Clark County School District located in Las Vegas, Nevada. It is located in the east side of the valley. The school was established in the fall of 1973. Its mascot is Kevin the Cowboy and its school colors are orange, black, and white. The school fight song is the theme from the classic western The Magnificent Seven composed by Elmer Bernstein. Chaparral's mission statement is "Creatively meeting the challenges of a changing world through Courage Harmony Ambition Pride"

Sam's Town Las Vegas is a hotel and casino located in Sunrise Manor, Nevada on the corner of Flamingo Road and Boulder Highway. It is one of the casinos owned and operated by Boyd Gaming. It features a 25,000-square-foot indoor park, bowling center, movie theater, and one of the largest casino floors in Las Vegas.One of the unique features of the hotel is "Mystic Falls Park", a large glass-roofed atrium with tall live trees, cobblestone paths, and a waterfall in the center where Sunset Stampede Laser Light and Water Show is performed several times a day.It was the host hotel for the Sam's Town 300, a NASCAR race sponsored by Sam's Town. It was also the Las Vegas host hotel for the Silver State Classic Challenge race.

The Castaways Hotel and Casino, formerly the Showboat Hotel and Casino, was a hotel and casino located at the north end of the Boulder Strip in Las Vegas, Nevada. The hotel consisted of a 19 story tower containing 445 rooms, a casino and an adjacent RV park. The Castaways hotel was demolished on January 11, 2006 to make way for a new resort. However, construction never started on the project, and the property became the site of the Showboat Park Apartments in 2021.

Winchester is an unincorporated town and census-designated place (CDP) in Clark County, Nevada, United States that contains part of the Las Vegas Strip. It is one of a number of CDPs in the unincorporated urbanized area directly south of Las Vegas. The population was 27,978 at the 2010 census. It is governed by the Clark County Commission with advice from the Winchester Town Advisory Board. "Winchester, NV" does not appear in postal addresses; the United States Postal Service has assigned "Las Vegas, NV" as the place name for the ZIP codes containing Winchester.

Eastside Cannery Casino and Hotel is a closed locals casino on the Boulder Strip in Sunrise Manor, Nevada, owned and operated by Boyd Gaming. The Eastside Cannery includes a 63,876 sq ft (5,934.3 m2) casino and 307 rooms in a 16-story tower. It was developed by Cannery Casino Resorts at a cost of $250 million. It is a sister property to the original Cannery Casino and Hotel, opened in North Las Vegas in 2003. The Eastside Cannery replaced the Nevada Palace, a small hotel-casino that had occupied a portion of the land since 1979. Construction began on April 30, 2007, and the Eastside Cannery opened on August 28, 2008. It was the first hotel-casino to be built on Boulder Highway since Boulder Station, which opened in 1994. Boyd acquired the Eastside Cannery in 2016, when it purchased Cannery Casino Resorts. The property closed on March 17, 2020, because of the COVID-19 pandemic in Nevada. Due to a lack of customer demand, it remains closed as of 2023.

Paradise Palms is a Mid-century modern housing community in Las Vegas, Nevada located between downtown and the city's University District. It was designated as a historic overlay district in 2021, the first such recognition in Clark County. The planned community, Las Vegas' first, was the brain child of Irwin Molasky in 1960 who hired the architectural firm of Palmer & Krisel to build a community within walking distance to his Boulevard Mall and when completed drew entertainers, mobsters and other members of the city's social scene. A house originally owned by Fred Glusman subsequently featured stays by Cher, Don Rickles, Diana Ross and other Vegas entertainers. The original homes off Cayuga Parkway debuted in 1960 and were developed by Molasky and Adelson's Paradise Homes. In 1963, other builders were added to the community, including California-based Americana Homes, Tropical Estates by Vallee Development, Stellar Greens by D.L Bradley, Miranti Homes and Fontainebleau Estates by Eastern Enterprises. The inspiration for Paradise Palms was Palm Springs, California, which exhibited a similar post-World War II population boom.The land on which the houses were built was originally part of the Stardust Golf Course, now known as Las Vegas National.The neighborhood and construction thereof were featured in a 2011 exhibit, A Place in Paradise...the Quintessential Las Vegas Neighborhood.

The Green Shack was a restaurant located on Fremont Street in Las Vegas, Nevada that is listed on the United States National Register of Historic Places. It was opened by Mattie Jones and was famous for its fried chicken.

The 1964 LPGA Championship was the tenth LPGA Championship, held October 1–4 at Stardust Country Club in Las Vegas, Nevada. Mary Mills shot a final round 69 (−2) to win the first of her two LPGA Championships, two strokes ahead runner-up Mickey Wright, the defending champion and 54-hole leader. The total of 278 set a record for the championship which stood until 1978; it was the second of three career majors for Mills.It was the fourth of six consecutive LPGA Championships at Stardust, which opened three years earlier. After several ownership and name changes, it became Las Vegas National Golf Club in 1998.

The 1966 LPGA Championship was the twelfth LPGA Championship, held September 22–25 at Stardust Country Club in Las Vegas, Nevada. Gloria Ehret won her only major title, three strokes ahead of runner-up Mickey Wright, a four-time winner of the championship. Defending champion Sandra Haynie finished nine strokes back in seventh place.It was the last of six consecutive LPGA Championships at Stardust, which opened five years earlier. After several ownership and name changes, it became Las Vegas National Golf Club in 1998.
