Estonian Maritime Museum

Fat Margaret (Estonian: Paks Margareeta, German: Dicke Margarethe) is a tower in Tallinn, Estonia. Nowadays, the tower is the headquarter of Estonian Maritime Museum. The tower was built in the early 16th century (from 1511 to 1530) during the reconstruction of the medieval city gate system. The etymology of the tower's name derives from the fact that it was the largest part of the city's fortifications with walls measuring 25 meters in diameter, 20 meters in height and up to 5 meters thick. Apart from being a fortification against would-be invaders to the port of the town, it was also built to impress outside visitors arriving by sea.The tower is a defensive structure at the end of Pikk tänav (Pikk Street). Together with the Suur Rannavärav (Great Coastal Gate), a sixteenth-century arch flanked by two towers, it served to defend the harbour of Tallinn. Later, it was used as a storehouse for gunpowder and weapons, and then transformed into a prison, and was the scene of an outbreak of violence during the 1917 Revolution, when the prison guards were murdered by a mob of workers, soldiers and sailors. The tower was reconstructed from 1978-1981 to house the Maritime Museum.

The Estonian Children's Literature Centre (in Estonian: Eesti Lastekirjanduse Keskus) is a centre devoted to children's literature from Estonia. It is located at Pikk 73 in Tallinn's old town and is open daily for visitors. The history of the centre dates back to 1933. The mascot of the centre is Nukitsamees (in English: Bumpy), a character in a story by Estonian author Oskar Luts.

Tallinn City Archives (Estonian: Tallinna linnaarhiiv) is an archive in Tallinn, Estonia. According to the archive's statute its purposes are as follows: "collect, organize and preserve the archival materials of historical and ongoing municipal institutions of Tallinn, as well as other records of archival value which are important to the study of the City of Tallinn and its history, and guarantee public access to them".

Kultuurikatel aka Tallinn Creative Hub is a non-profit foundation and cultural organisation in Tallinn, Estonia situated in the Tallinn Power Plant and a medium between international culture, creative industry and private sector. Kultuurikatel organises events, workshops, performances. Yearly it organises Stalker Festival and is a partner in the Tallinn Music Week. The organisation also runs an active artist-in-residence program to serve professional artists from different fields of culture. The organisation has several departments such as a sound lab, a maker lab, a digital and audio-visual lab, Toidulabor/a food lab. Tallinn Creative Hub is a member of international networks such as ECOC (European Capitals of Culture), ENCATC (European Network on Cultural Management and Cultural Policy), ECBN (European Creative Business Network), Circostrada and Estonian Chamber of Service Industry. Kultuurikatel is located at the complex of the former Tallinn Power Plant.

The Tallinn Power Plant (Estonian: Tallinna elektrijaam) is a former power plant located in Tallinn, Estonia. Construction of the power plant was initiated by Volta company and it was decided by the Tallinn City Council in 1912 after the work of special committee established in 1909. The plant was located next to the Tallinn Gas Factory at the location of the former Stuart fortress. The plant was designed by Volta and the architect was Hans Schmidt. Originally it used three Laval-type 250 horsepower (0.19 MW) steam turbines and three 250 horsepower (0.19 MW) electric generators—all produced by Volta. Two coal-fired boilers were manufactured by AS Franz Krull. The power plant was opened on 24 March 1913 and originally it was fired by coal. In 1919–1920 the plant was expanded and transferred to peat and wood. In 1924 the power plant was switched to oil shale. It was the first power plant in the world to employ oil shale as its primary fuel. In 1939, the plant achieved capacity of 22 MW.In 1929, a new turbine hall and in 1932 a new switchboard were commissioned. In 1941, the power plant was destroyed by leaving Soviet troops but was restored by 1948. A new 102.5-metre (336 ft) flue-gas stack was built. On 9 October 1959, the plant started to operate as combined heat and power plant providing district heating to Tallinn. In 1965, the plant was switched to fuel oil. The plant ceased electricity production on 2 February 1979.In 1978, the power plant area was used for the Andrei Tarkovsky's film Stalker as the threshold to the Zone. The UN's acronym, which is still visible, was painted on the power plant's flue-gas stack. A memorial plate of the film was set up on the flue-gas stack in 2008. Since 1984, the former power plant boiler house is used as an energy museum. Since 2011, the power plant complex is used for hosting the Tallinn Creative Hub (Kultuurikatel).

St. Olaf’s Church or St. Olav's Church (Estonian: Oleviste kirik) in Tallinn, Estonia, is believed to have been built in the 12th century and to have been the centre for old Tallinn's Scandinavian community before Denmark conquered Tallinn in 1219. Its dedication relates to King Olaf II of Norway (also known as Saint Olaf, 995–1030). The first known written records referring to the church date back to 1267. It was extensively rebuilt during the 14th century.

Kalev Spa Water Park (Estonian: Kalev Spa Veekeskus) is a water park in Tallinn, Estonia. The park consists of 50 m swimming pool which is the biggest in Estonia.The park was opened in 1965. In 2019 the park was renovated.In the park there are operating Kalev Swimming School (Estonian: Kalevi Ujumiskool) and Orca Swim Club.

Kohvik Moon is a restaurant in Tallinn, Estonia, located near the Viking Line harbour. The restaurant focuses on slavic food. Despite its small size and non-central location, it is so popular that since its opening in December 2009, the restaurant was almost full of customers every day for several months, and its owners often had to work almost round the clock. The restaurant was chosen as the best restaurant in Tallinn of the year in 2010.

The Bremen Tower (Estonian: Bremeni torn) is a four-story horseshoe-shaped tower on the Walls of Tallinn in Estonia.

Sfäär (meaning Sphere) was a restaurant and store located at Mere puiestee 6E, in Tallinn, Estonia. It was noted for its Nordic cuisine and New Estonian cuisine with Italian influence, using fresh ingredients. The restaurant was described as "kind of a cross between an old Soviet-era cafeteria and a stylishly retro second living room." The restaurant is also a wine store and clothes store which sells designer jeans and other goods. One review said of the restaurant: "Italian and Nordic aren't exactly terms that get along well. Yet by some stroke of insane genius, Sfäär found a way to force these to into a fusion. The result was a truly modern cuisine, presented in a contemporary and sleek setting with some tastefully incorporated retro elements." Sfäär closed down in August 2019.

St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, Tallinn (Estonian: Tallinna Nikolai kirik) is an Orthodox church in Tallinn, Estonia. The church is named after Saint Nicholas. The church is chosen one of the Estonian cultural monuments being both architectural monument and historical monument.The church is built during 1820–1827. The church was designed by Luigi Rusca. The church is featured predominantly by classicism.

The Three Handed Mother of God Church (Estonian: Tallinna Kolmekäelise Jumalaema kirik) is the name given to a religious building that is affiliated to the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church (one of the Eastern Catholic Church in full communion with the Pope in Rome) that is located in the 22 street Laboratooriumi in Tallinn, Estonia. The Evangelical Lutheran Church of Estonia managed the building in the period between 1994 and 1997. In late 1997, the church was destroyed by fire, with arson that ended a criminal trial. On 14 October 2000, the church was restored and consecrated in honor of the Virgin Mary. The ceremony was celebrated by Archbishop Ljubomõr Guzar of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, the church has paintings by the artist Lviv Petro Gumenjuk, and the interior was designed and built by one of his assistants Anatoly Ljutjuk. All Masses are celebrated in Ukrainian language.
