Crooked Hill is a neighborhood in Susquehanna Township, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, and is a suburb of the city of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. The name Crooked Hill is derived from Crooked Hill Road, which has many different neighborhoods located along it.

Wildwood Park is a public park and nature sanctuary in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. The 229 acre park is known for its 90-acre shallow lake with over 6 miles of trails and mile-long boardwalk over the wetlands. The park is located within the city limits of Harrisburg; however, it is administered and maintained by the Dauphin County Parks and Recreation Department. Wildwood Park runs in line with Paxton Creek, a tributary of the Susquehanna River, on the northern side of Harrisburg and adjacent to the main campus of HACC, Central Pennsylvania's Community College. Paxton Creek feeds into the lake, which comprises 60% of the Park. A section of the old Pennsylvania Canal runs parallel to the western trail. The remainder of the park is mixed deciduous forest, and an artificial meadow overlooks the eastern side of the lake. Wildwood Park is also part of the Capital Area Greenbelt.

Commonwealth Charter Academy (previously named Commonwealth Connections Academy) is a large, public, cyber charter school. The school serves all school-aged children in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania regardless of where the child lives. The Academy's headquarters is located in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. It is one of sixteen public cyber charters schools operating in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The School operates seven additional branches, called Family Service Centers, across the Commonwealth: Andreas, Allentown, Harrisburg, Center City Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Cranberry, Scranton and Williamsport. When the School was originally approved it served Kindergarten through 8th grade pupils all across Pennsylvania.In 2023, enrollment was 22,000 pupils in grades kindergarten through 12th. The Capital Area Intermediate Unit IU15 provides the school with a wide variety of services like specialized education for disabled students and hearing, speech and visual disability services and professional development for staff and faculty.

HACC, Central Pennsylvania's Community College, (HACC) is a community college in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. HACC is accredited by the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. HACC serves 17,000 degree-seeking students, as well as more than 8,300 remedial and workforce development students. The College has more than 100,000 alumni.

The Keystone Corridor is a 349-mile (562 km) railroad corridor between Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, that consists of two rail lines: Amtrak and SEPTA's Philadelphia-to-Harrisburg main line, which hosts SEPTA's Paoli/Thorndale Line commuter rail service, and Amtrak's Keystone and Pennsylvanian inter-city trains; and the Norfolk Southern Pittsburgh Line. The corridor was originally the Main Line of the Pennsylvania Railroad. Since 2006, the line has been one of the high-speed corridors designated by the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA). The 24-mile section of track from Lancaster to Parkesburg permits trains of up to 110 miles per hour (180 km/h), while the 19-mile section between Paoli and Philadelphia allows up to 90 miles per hour (140 km/h).Amtrak runs two intercity rail services along the Keystone Corridor: the Harrisburg-to-New York City Keystone Service and the Pittsburgh-to-New York City Pennsylvanian. SEPTA operates daily Paoli/Thorndale commuter rail service between Philadelphia and Thorndale on the Philadelphia-to-Harrisburg main line. The towns along this stretch form a socio-cultural region called the "Philadelphia Main Line". The tracks from Pittsburgh to Harrisburg are owned and maintained by Norfolk Southern, which acquired them from Conrail. They include the Horseshoe Curve west of Altoona. The tracks between Harrisburg and Philadelphia are owned and maintained by Amtrak, and are the only part of the Keystone Corridor that is electrified. The tracks join the Northeast Corridor at Zoo Interlocking near the Philadelphia Zoo and 30th Street Station.

Widener University Commonwealth Law School (Widener Law Commonwealth) is a law school located in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and part of Widener University, a private university in Chester, Pennsylvania. It is one of two separate ABA-accredited law schools of the university. It was founded in 1989 as an expansion of Widener University's law school in Wilmington. It awards the Juris Doctor degree in its full-time and part-time programs and is a member of the Association of American Law Schools (AALS).

The Capital Area Greenbelt is a looping trail located in the area of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. This 20-mile loop around Pennsylvania's capital city provides visitors and tourists with opportunities to hike, ride bicycles, skate, jog, fish, walk their dogs, spot rare birds, learn about history, enjoy native flora and fauna, and appreciate nature. While parts of the trail are shared with roads, most of the loop is a dedicated path. The Trail, as it is commonly referred to by locals, passes along the Susquehanna River through Reservoir Park, Riverfront Park, Five Senses Garden, and Wildwood Park and Nature Center. In addition to parks, the Capital Area Greenbelt passes alongside attractions including the grave site of John Harris Sr. (the namesake of the city of Harrisburg), the Governor's Mansion, Fort Hunter, Harrisburg State Hospital, and the National Civil War Museum.

Harrisburg Intermodal Yard is a large rail yard located in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. The yard used to be operated by Conrail, and since 1999, has been operated by the Norfolk Southern Railway. The Harrisburg Yard, the Enola Yard and the Rutherford Yard are the three major rail facilities located in the Harrisburg area.

The Pennsylvania Farm Show is an annual agricultural exposition celebrating Pennsylvania's agriculture industry, held every January at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex & Expo Center, located in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. It is the largest indoor agricultural event held in the United States. The Farm Show Complex houses 24 acres (97,000 m2) under its roof, spread throughout eleven halls, including three arenas. The annual event is free to the public and attracts over half a million visitors. This event was first held in 1917 as Pennsylvania's State Fair. The 2021 rendition of the Farm Show, however, was entirely virtual for the first time in its history due to the COVID-19 pandemic.The Farm Show has over 10,000 competitive events spread over 35 departments. All exhibits are owned, grown, or fashioned by residents of Pennsylvania. In addition to these events, the Farm Show offers hands-on learning activities such as lace making, wheat weaving, and blacksmithing. The Farm Show also features a portable merry-go-round carnival ride that was manufactured by the Allan Herschell Company in 1946. Antique agricultural equipment is often displayed at the show, alongside new farming technology.

Harrisburg State Hospital, formerly known from 1851 to 1937 as Pennsylvania State Lunatic Hospital, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, was Pennsylvania's first public facility to house the mentally ill and disabled. Its campus is located on Cameron and Maclay Streets, and operated as a mental hospital until 2006.

The Great American Outdoor Show (GAOS) is the world's largest outdoor recreation show and expo which is held annually in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. The show, which was first held in 2014, was previously called the Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show (from 1956 to 2013). The venue of the event was the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex & Expo Center in Harrisburg. In 2015 the event saw a record attendance of over 250,000 people.The show draws outdoor and hunting enthusiasts from Pennsylvania, New York, Ohio, West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, New Jersey, Vermont and Maine as well as hundreds from the Midwest and international guests.The expo, which was previously called the Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show, occurred annually from 1955 until 2012. In 2013 there was no show, which was reported to be a $80 million loss to the local economy. In 2014 the show saw a re-branding when it returned and looking for a sponsor saw a multimillion-dollar deal with the National Rifle Association.
