Baard is a village in the Dutch province of Friesland. It is located in the municipality Leeuwarden, about 10 km southwest of the city of Leeuwarden. Baard had a population of about 189 in January 2017.

The Protestant church of Jorwert or Saint Radboud's church is a medieval religious building in Jorwert, Friesland, Netherlands. It is an early 12th-century Romanesque church with a long round closed choir and a late 12th-century tower. The church is largely built of tuffstone. In 1951 the tower collapsed, soon after it, it was rebuilt. The monumental Pipe organ of the church was built in 1799 by Albertus van Gruisen.It was originally a Roman Catholic church dedicated to Saint Radboud, but became a Protestant temple after the Protestant Reformation. It is listed as a Rijksmonument, number 8494. The building is located on the Sluytermanwei 4 and is in the care of Stichting Alde Fryske Tsjerken (Old Frisian Churches Foundation).

Jorwert (Dutch: Jorwerd) is a village in Friesland, in the municipality of Leeuwarden, with a population of 342 in January 2017.The nickname for inhabitants of Jorwert is "Dweilstikken", meaning poor people who are dependent of rich ones. The village is built around a central "terp", a man-made mound between 4 and 8 feet tall built to provide relief from the high tides of the sea before dykes were constructed around the 10th century.

De Puollen (Dutch: De Poelen; Dutch pronunciation: [də ˈpu.lə(n)]) is a hamlet in the Dutch municipality of Waadhoeke in the province of Friesland. It is located to the south of Deinum and on the east side of Dronryp, of which it is a part administratively. The Puolfeart (Dutch: Poelvaart) flows through the hamlet and its surrounding polder. This canal forms the heart of the hamlet, which consists of scattered residences on the Puoldyk. The polder was called Oosterpolder for a while, but later received the name of the hamlet. The polder was drained by the De Poelen polder mill. The area of De Puollen was described in Latin in 1450 as terra situata in da Polum. In 1483 people speak of someone who lived in Poland. In the sixteenth century there was a real hamlet and it was mentioned as Puelen and Poelen. A century later people speak of De Poelen. The place name could also refer to the fact that it was a watery area (a 'pool').Currently located in the municipality of Waadhoeke, De Puollen belonged to Menameradiel until the municipal reorganization of 2018. Having been part of Menameradiel, the hamlet's official name is in West Frisian since 2010, as opposed to the Dutch variant.

Mantgum is a railway station in Mantgum, Netherlands. The station opened on 16 June 1883 and is located on the Leeuwarden–Stavoren railway. The services are operated by Arriva. The station was closed between 15 May 1938 and 1 May 1940 and between 24 November 1940 and 3 June 1973. The station is 10 km from Leeuwarden and 12 km from Sneek.

De Poelen or De Puollen is a smock mill in Dronryp, Friesland, Netherlands, which was built in 1850. The mill is listed as a Rijksmonument, number 28612.
