Befu Station (Fukuoka)

Jōnan-ku (城南区) is one of the seven wards of Fukuoka City, Japan. As of November 1, 2004, it had a population of 128,057 people, making up 9.2% of Fukuoka City, with an area of 16.02 km2. At the time of Fukuoka City's official designation as a City in 1972, the area now known as Jōnan-ku was part of the larger ward of Nishi-ku. On May 1, 1982, Nishi-ku was subdivided into the three smaller wards of Nishi-ku, Sawara-ku and Jōnan-ku. Located southwest of the downtown area of Tenjin, Jōnan-ku is a primarily residential area. Despite its proximity to downtown Fukuoka, Jōnan-ku has suffered from a lack of transport infrastructure, leading to congested roads and difficult access to the rest of the city. The Nanakuma Line of the Fukuoka Subway opened in 2005, improving traffic flow in the area. Like most of Fukuoka City, the construction in Jōnan-ku is relatively recent, as the area consisted mostly of fields after World War 2, lacking even paved roads. The result has been a crowded jumble of roads, houses, apartment buildings and businesses, with no real centre to the ward. A few large parks help to create a peaceful atmosphere. Jōnan-ku is home to Fukuoka University, whose students are everpresent during the school year and help support a growing number of local convenience stores. The St Sulpice Great Seminary of Fukuoka is another notable landmark, having been built in the 1950s and serving to train Japanese Catholic priests from Kyūshū. Historical sites include Kikuchi Shrine and Yūsentei Park.

Nakamura Gakuen University (中村学園大学, Nakamura gakuen daigaku) is a private university in Fukuoka, Fukuoka, Japan. The predecessor of the school was founded in 1954. It was chartered as a junior college in 1957 and became a four-year college in 1965.

Ropponmatsu Station (六本松駅) is a subway station on the Fukuoka City Subway Nanakuma Line in Chūō-ku, Fukuoka in Japan. Its station symbol is a picture of a pine in green. Ropponmatsu means "six pines" in Japanese.

Fukuoka Art Museum (福岡市美術館, Fukuoka-shi Bijutsukan) is an art museum in Fukuoka, Japan. It contains a notable collection of Asian art and exhibits various temporary exhibitions. In November 2010 it hosted a large exhibition of Marc Chagall's work. The Madonna of Port Lligat by Salvador Dalí is exhibited at this museum.

The Consulate of the United States, Fukuoka (Japanese: 在福岡米国領事館) is a consular post of the United States in Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan. The consulate has a public relations division called the Fukuoka American Center.Currently it is the only U.S. consulate in Kyushu, but for about 80 years from the late Tokugawa period to the start of the Pacific War, the consulate was located in Nagasaki instead of Fukuoka.

Tōjinmachi Station (唐人町駅, Tōjinmachi-eki) is a train station located in Chūō-ku. The station's symbol mark is a jar which is designed the arabesque scroll to look like the letter "唐". It has the station number "K05".

Fukuoka Prefectural Shuyukan Senior High School (福岡県立修猷館高等学校, Fukuoka Kenritsu Shūyūkan Kōtō-gakkō) is a co-educational public senior high school in Fukuoka, Fukuoka, Japan.

Sophia Fukuoka Junior and Senior High School (上智福岡中学高等学校, Jōchi Fukuoka chūgaku kōtō gakkō) is located in Chūō-ku, Fukuoka. Founded by the Catholic diocese as a seminary school in 1932 and undergoing several name changes, it has been managed by the Jesuits since 1983. It took its present name in 2010 when it became affiliated with Sophia University.

Kanayuma Station (金山駅) is a subway station on the Fukuoka City Subway Nanakuma Line in Jōnan-ku, Fukuoka in Japan. Its station symbol is a picture of a rainbow in front of a triangle which motif are 金 and a hill in orange.
