North Mecklenburg High School is a high school in Huntersville, North Carolina. The school mascot is the Viking, and the school colors are royal blue, red, and white. Founded in 1951, the school was integrated during the 1960s. The principal is Stephanie Hood.

St. Mark's Episcopal Church is a historic Episcopal church located at Huntersville, North Carolina. The church was built in 1886–1887, and is a small rural "English country Gothic" style brick church. It has a cross-shaped plan with a three-bay-long nave, a pair of small single-bay side wings, and a one-bay chancel. Also on the property is the wood-frame parsonage; a two-story L-shaped dwelling with a Victorian doorway and porch trim. It was built about 1897.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984, with a boundary increase in 1991.

Croft Historic District is a national historic district located near Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. The district encompasses seven contributing buildings and one contributing structure in the crossroads community of Croft in rural Mecklenburg County. Contributing resources include the S. W. & C. S. Davis General Store (1908), two-story Queen Anne style S. W. Davis House (1903) and flower house (c. 1903), the old Croft School (c. 1890, c. 1912), three warehouses (c. 1910, c. 1925, and c. 1930), and a section of the (former) Atlantic. Tennessee and Ohio Railroad Tracks (1871).It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1999.

Pioneer Springs Community School is the only nature-based, tuition-free public charter school located near Huntersville, North Charlotte and the UNCC area in the Charlotte metropolitan area, North Carolina, United States. The school is currently enrolling K-11 for Fall 2022, 12th grade will be added.Fall 2023.

North Carolina's 9th congressional district is a congressional district in south-central North Carolina. The district's current boundaries were redrawn in February 2016 after a U.S. District Court overturned the existing boundaries because of politically directed gerrymandering that suppressed minority representation. The new congressional district consists of Union, Chatham, Anson, Richmond, Scotland, and Robeson counties; a southeast portion of Mecklenburg County; and parts of Cumberland, Moore and Bladen counties. Republicans have held this district since 1963. Republican Robert Pittenger had represented the district since January 2013. In 2018, Pittenger was defeated by challenger Mark Harris in the Republican primary. The latter faced Democrat Dan McCready in the general election. Harris was initially called as the winner by several hundred votes, but the result was not certified, pending a statewide investigation into allegations of absentee ballot fraud. On February 21, the bipartisan State Election Board unanimously voted to call for a new election for the 9th district, because of ballot fraud by Republican operatives.A special election was held September 10, 2019, with Democrat Dan McCready running against Republican Dan Bishop, a state senator who won the Republican primary. Bishop won the 2019 special election to the U.S. House of Representatives with 50.7% of the vote to McCready's 48.7%.Candidate filing began February 24, 2022 after the North Carolina Supreme Court approved a new map which changed the 9th district boundaries to include Chatham, Hoke, Lee, Moore, Randolph and Scotland Counties and parts of Cumberland, Harnett and Richmond Counties.The ninth district is currently represented by Richard Hudson.

Lake Norman Charter School is a public charter school in Huntersville, North Carolina. Founded in 1998, it is one of the oldest and largest charter schools in the state. The high school and middle school are on adjacent campuses near downtown Huntersville, while the elementary school is 3.2 miles away. The school has brought together a diverse variety of students who are admitted through a non-weighted lottery system. Lake Norman Charter is divided into 3 schools: Lake Norman Charter has high academic standards and is primarily a college preparatory school. It is a "One-to-One" school, providing laptop computers to each high school student (iPads for middle and elementary school students) and utilizes Schoology, an online system for class submissions and grades. Lake Norman Charter offers 16 Advanced placement courses and 82% of the students in those classes pass the AP exam. College enrollment: 96% of the Class of 2017 went on to pursue a post- secondary degree (78% in 4-year college/university, 18% in 2-year college/technical school); 3% enlisted in the military or took a gap year. 26% of the Class of 2017 attended colleges and universities outside of North Carolina. Lake Norman Charter's (Middle School) math team regularly competes in the AMC 8 (American Mathematics Competition) and Mathcounts.Lake Norman Charter's (High School) math team competes in the AMC 10, AMC 12, and various math meets; (Duke, WCU). Albert McCoy Farm is a historic home, farm, and national historic district located near Huntersville, Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. The district encompasses two contributing buildings, one contributing site, and five contributing structures in rural Mecklenburg County. The farmhouse was built about 1886, and is a two-story, timber frame, side-gable-and-wing dwelling with vernacular Queen Anne style design elements. It has a shallow cross gable roof, weatherboard siding, and three brick chimneys. It features a pedimented gable front porch. Other contributing resources include an arbor, a log corn crib, a wellhouse, a smokehouse, a privy, pumphouse, and the agricultural landscape.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.

Dr. Walter Pharr Craven House is a historic home located near Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. The house was built about 1888, and is a two-story, vernacular Victorian style frame dwelling. It is associated with a small farm that supported the family of a country doctor. Also on the property are the contributing frame well canopy (1929), family Catholic chapel (c. 1910), central passage barn (c. 1920), log corn crib (c. 1888), tool shed (c. 1920), and auto-garage (c. 1920).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.

Hopewell Presbyterian Church is a historic Presbyterian church complex and national historic district located near Huntersville, Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. The church was built in 1833–1835, renovated and enlarged in 1859–1860, and expanded by a Sunday School addition in 1928. It is a U-shaped brick and brick veneer building composed of three connected blocks all covered with front-gable roofs. The church is a rectangular gable-front brick building standing on a low mortared fieldstone foundation and Greek Revival style design elements. Also on the property are the contributing pumphouse (c. 1925), cemetery gate (1845), and cemetery with burials dating to 1775. The cemetery contains one of the two largest collections of box and chest tombs in North Carolina. General William Lee Davidson of the North Carolina militia, killed in 1781 at the Battle of Cowan's Ford during the American Revolutionary War, is buried in the cemetery.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1996.

Thomas and Latitia Gluyas House is a historic home located near Huntersville, Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. It was built about 1865, and is a two-story, three-bay, I-house with a one-story rear ell. It has side gable roof, exterior brick end chimneys, and a full-width hip roofed porch.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001.

Huntersville Colored High School, also known as Torrence-Lytle High School, is a historic high school complex located at Huntersville, Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. The main building is a variegated red brick, Colonial Revival main block built in 1937 with two-story International Style wings constructed in 1957. The original section was built under the auspices of the Public Works Administration. Also on the property is the elementary school building built in 1953 and a gymnasium built in 1957. The elementary school is a long, one-story, rectangular, red brick building. The complex continued to function as a public school until 1966.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2009.
