Tean railway station

Totmonslow is a hundred in the county of Staffordshire, England. The hundred is in the north-east of Staffordshire and is named after the hamlet of the same name, which is a half mile east of Draycott in the Moors. The hamlet was the seat of the hundred court.

Draycott in the Moors is a village in Staffordshire, England. It is between Stoke on Trent and Uttoxeter near the River Blythe. It is two and a half miles from Cheadle.In 1851 the parish contained 518 inhabitants. Sir Edward Vavasour, Bart., was the lord of the manor.

Tean is a large village in Staffordshire, England. It is around 15 miles (24 km) south-east of Stoke-on-Trent. The River Tean runs through the village, heading east towards Uttoxeter. Population details for the 2011 census can be found under Checkley. The village is itself composed of two villages: Upper Tean and Lower Tean. It is part of the Checkley ward within the Staffordshire Moorlands district. The Heath House, a Gothic Revival mansion and estate, is located to the east of the village. The village also contains an historic tape mill (now converted into apartments / flats). There are a number of pubs & shops, a doctors' surgery, nurseries, a village hall (Greatwood Hall), three churches, and a small park. There is free car parking signposted off one end of the High Street (between the two pubs). Major employers in the area include Alton Towers, JCB, Toyota, and Fox's Biscuits.

Boundary is a village in the civil parish of Forsbrook, in the Staffordshire Moorlands district, in the county of Staffordshire, England, near to the town of Cheadle. It is just outside of the city of Stoke-on-Trent.

Cresswell railway station was a railway station located on the Stoke-Derby line at Cresswell, Staffordshire, England. It was opened by the North Staffordshire Railway in 1848 and closed in 1966.The station was located near the Izaak Walton pub and had a substantial building and a small goods yard. It became the junction station for the Cheadle Branch Line in 1892. When the latter closed to passengers, the sidings remained in occasional use for another 20 years, mainly sand traffic from Cheadle.The level crossing was converted to automatic barrier operation in 1989, whereupon the signal box was demolished and the junction was lifted.There is no trace of the station today.

Cresswell is a hamlet in Staffordshire, England. It is approximately one mile SE of Blythe Bridge and has a population of approximately 300. From the 2011 census the population of this hamlet has been included with Draycott-in-the-Moors. The "Izaak Walton" public house and restaurant is named after the seventeenth-century fisherman Izaak Walton, whose book The Compleat Angler is still in publication today. Walton was born in Stafford, and legend has it that he fished in the River Blithe, which is near the pub. During the English Civil War Staffordshire saw a great deal of conflict. The local manor house Paynsley Hall was first held for Charles I, then garrisoned by Parliamentarian forces before being destroyed.Although it is still a rural area, the hamlet is the home of the Blythe Colour Works, which was established to produce under-glaze colours for the pottery industry. Cresswell is also the home of Blythe Cricket Club. Cresswell formerly had a railway station on the Crewe to Derby Line, but, although trains still pass through the hamlet, there are now no stations between Blythe Bridge and Uttoxeter. In the twentieth century there was also a short line from Cresswell to Cheadle (Cheadle Branch Line).

The Cheadle Academy (formerly Cheadle High School) is a coeducational secondary school with academy status located in Cheadle, Staffordshire in the Midlands area of England. It has around 790 pupils ranging from Year 7 to 13. The Cheadle Academy has its own sixth form provision that opened in September 2017. The Cheadle Academy is a specialist arts school. It offers a broad curriculum base, offering students the chance to study a wide range of subjects. Students in Year 10 and Year 11 can choose from subjects such as Health and Social Care, BTEC Sport, Business Studies, ICT, Geography and History. The proportion of students achieving 9-5 grades in Maths was 67% and in English Language the proportion of students achieving 9-5 was 68%. In English Literature this was 98%. Similarly, the pass rate for Grade 5 or more 9-5 including English and Maths was 58%.

Painsley Catholic College is a Roman Catholic secondary school with academy status in Cheadle, Staffordshire, England. The name comes from Painsley Hall, Draycott in the Moors, from which the Painsley and Draycott Mission served the neighbouring areas and from which grew those parishes now connected with the college. It is also part of a multi-academy company made up of Painsley and its six feeder schools.

Tean Road Sports Ground is a cricket ground in Cheadle, Staffordshire. The ground is located south of the town centre along the Tean Road, which itself forms part of the A522 Road. It has played host to List A cricket matches, in addition to playing host to Staffordshire County Cricket Club in minor counties cricket.

St Giles' Church is a Roman Catholic church in the town of Cheadle, Staffordshire, England. The Grade I listed Gothic Revival church was designed by Augustus Welby Northmore Pugin and built between 1841 and 1846 for the Earl of Shrewsbury. It is in Decorated style, and is highly decorated on the outside and the inside, and has a tall steeple. The interior is painted throughout, and is floored with patterned tiles. Almost all the furniture and fittings were designed by Pugin, including the piscina, sedilia, a recess for an Easter Sepulchre, the reredos, font, font cover, pulpit, and screen. The spire is 200 feet (61 m) high and the church by far the tallest building in the town.
