St. Albans Park is a residential suburb of Geelong, Victoria, 6 km southeast from Geelong's city centre. It is bounded by Boundary Road (West), Coppards Road (East), Townsend Road (North) and the Barwon River (South). The suburbs that surround it are Whittington, Breakwater, Moolap and Marshall. The suburb extends around the St. Albans Homestead and stud, a historic house and accompanying stables. At the 2021 census, St. Albans Park had a population of 4,942.The suburb contains facilities such as an aged care village, church and many parks and reserves. Due to a significant increase in the number of young families moving to the suburb, a new kindergarten has been built in Homestead Drive. The suburb is close to the Bellarine Village and Newcomb Central shopping centres. St Albans Uniting Church in Wilsons Road was built in 1869 and dedicated in 1870. Its beginnings can be traced back to forerunner churches and church gatherings from the early 1840s. Forerunner churches and chapels were located in Lakes Road (now Woods Road) in Boronggoop (early name for St. Albans Park area bounded by Barwon River and extending north east in a 10,000-acre (40 km2) allotment - initially held by Caroline Elizabeth Newcomb - to Point Henry), in Hampstead, (early name for St. Albans Park area bounded by Woods / Coppards / Townsend / Wellington Roads), Regent Street and Chapel Street - the last two both in Whittington.

Geelong East was an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the Australian state of Victoria from 1859 to 1985. It was located south of the city of Geelong, defined in the Victorian Electoral Act, 1858 as: Commencing at the north-western angle of the town reserve of Geelong; thence by a line south to the River Barwon; thence westward and northwestward by the River Barwon to the western boundary of the reserve at the junction of the Moorabool and Barwon; thence east by the northern boundary of section 25, parish of Barrabool; thence south by the eastern boundaries of sections 25 and 11, and by part of the eastern boundary of section 7, all in the same parish; thence south-easterly by a curved line crossing the Waurn Chain of Ponds to the southern boundary of section 3, parish of Conewarre; thence east by the southern boundaries of sections 3 and 4 in the same parish; thence north-easterly by a curved line crossing the River Barwon to the south-eastern angle of section 11 in the parish of Moolap; thence by the eastern boundary of that section and a line north to the shores of Corio Bay; and thence by the shores of Corio Bay to the north-western angle of the town reserve, the commencing point aforesaid, including the remaining portion of the reserve at Point Henry. Geelong East (along with Electoral district of Geelong West) was created when the four-member Electoral district of Geelong was abolished in 1859. Geelong West and Geelong East were abolished in 1877, replaced by a re-created 3-member district of Geelong.After the Electoral district of Bellarine was abolished in 1976, Geelong East was re-created. In 1985, population increases caused another redrawing of electoral boundaries; Geelong East was abolished and Bellarine re-created that year. Graham Ernst, last member for Geelong East, represented Bellarine 1985–1992.

South Geelong railway station is located on the Warrnambool line in Victoria, Australia. It serves the southern Geelong suburb of South Geelong, and it opened on 1 November 1883.

The Geelong city centre is the urban center and main commercial locality of the Geelong metropolitan area, also referred to as the Geelong CBD, Central Geelong, the Central Activities Area, or informally simply as "Town" by locals. The name of the area is officially gazetted as Geelong.The Geelong city centre is the oldest part of Geelong and includes many of the city's historic landmarks such as the Geelong City Hall, St. Mary of the Angels Basilica, the T & G Building, Johnstone Park, Geelong railway station, and the old Geelong Post Office. It is also a cultural area for the region, housing the Geelong Art Gallery and the Geelong Arts Centre, as well as the Deakin University waterfront campus. Tourist attractions include the Waterfront Geelong, Eastern Beach, and the National Wool Museum. The city centre is one of Geelong's major shopping districts. Two large shopping malls, Westfield Geelong and Market Square Shopping Centre, have been opened in the last three decades, which has led to a decline in street shopping on the city's two main thoroughfares, Moorabool Street and Ryrie Street, resulting in a declining number of customers and some empty shops.The Geelong city centre has seen some significant redevelopment since 2016. In 2018, the WorkSafe office building was opened, followed by the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) national headquarters in 2019, significantly altering the skyline. New multi-storey apartment buildings, such as The Mercer and The Miramar, have also been built recently.

Kardinia Park (also known as GMHBA Stadium due to naming rights) is a sporting and entertainment venue located within Kardinia Park, South Geelong, in the Australian state of Victoria. The stadium, which is owned and operated by the Kardinia Park Stadium Trust, is the home ground of AFL club Geelong Football Club. Kardinia Park can accommodate 40,000 spectators, making it the largest-capacity Australian stadium in a regional city.

The Christ Church is an Anglican church located in Geelong, Victoria, Australia. Designed by Edmund Blacket, the church is the oldest Anglican church in Victoria, in continuous use on its original site. On 9 October 1974 the church was listed on the Victorian Heritage Register with the following statement of significance: Christ Church, Geelong is of historical significance due to its association with the early history of the Anglican Church in Victoria. It is the oldest Anglican Church in the State still occupying its original site. It appears to be the only extant example of Bishop Broughton's involvement in church design in Victoria. Christ Church, Geelong is of architectural significance as the only church in Victoria designed by prolific NSW architect, Edmund Blacket. It is a very early work of Blacket's and possibly his first church design. Christ Church, Geelong is of aesthetic significance for its remarkable, high quality collection of stained glass windows, in particular the fine examples of the work of Ferguson and Urie. Together these demonstrate the development of stained glass design from the early 1872 examples to the late 20th century work. The mural is also of significance as a rare example of this aspect of the work of important artist, Christian Waller.

St Mary of the Angels Basilica, formerly St Mary's Church, is a basilica located in Yarra Street, Geelong, Victoria, Australia. Since the completion of the Gothic revival bluestone building in 1937, St. Mary of the Angels has had the tallest bluestone spire in Australia, at 150 feet (46 m), and has the fourth-tallest non-cathedral spire in Australia. In 2004 it became Australia's fifth basilica, after gaining Vatican approval for the change of description.It is the tallest building in Geelong, with a total height of 210 feet (64 m) from the pavement, and is a major landmark in the city.

Geelong Racecourse (also known as Breakwater) is a disused railway station on the Geelong-Warrnambool railway line, in the Geelong suburb of Breakwater, Victoria, Australia. The station was located on a loop siding off the main line and was only used for special events at the nearby Geelong Racecourse. In 1910, the Geelong Racing Club, the Geelong Agricultural Society and the Hibernian Society together paid the Victorian Railways £1000 to have the station built. It was first used for the race meeting held on Wednesday 14 December of that year. The new station replaced one on the Queenscliff railway line, which was further from the racecourse. When it first opened, it was known as Geelong Showgrounds. It was renamed Geelong Racecourse in March 1915.By the start of 1918, an electric staff instrument was provided. In 1942, a dead-end extension at the down end of the station was abolished, and in 1956, the electric staff instrument and a switching facility was abolished. In 1962, all signals at the station were abolished.By December 2001, the loop was booked out of service, and was only booked back in service once a year, for the Geelong Cup. The last V/Line service to stop there was for the 2005 Geelong Cup. In 2005, the points from the main line were spiked, preventing trains from accessing the platform. In May 2007, a small timber hut, which was the only building on the platform, was demolished.In February 2011, the loop siding was disconnected from the main line, in conjunction with the re-sleepering of the main line. On 1 March of that year, the loop siding was abolished, effectively closing the station.

HM Prison Geelong was a maximum security Australia prison located on the corner of Myers Street and Swanston Street in Geelong, Victoria, Australia. The prison was built in stages from 1849 to 1864. Its panopticon design is based on Pentonville Prison in England. The prison was officially closed in 1991 and prisoners were moved to the newly built HM Prison Barwon in Lara. The building now functions as a museum for the history of the prison.

St John of God Geelong Hospital is a 284-bed hospital providing inpatient and outpatient care in the Barwon and south-west regions of Victoria.Founded in 1965, the Sisters of St John of God purchased the hospital in 1977 and it was renamed from Holy Cross Hospital to St John of God Geelong Hospital in 1980.St John of God Geelong Hospital is a division of St John of God Health Care, a Catholic not-for-profit health care group.

The University Hospital Geelong, formerly the Geelong Hospital, is an Australian public hospital located in Ryrie Street, Geelong, Victoria. The hospital is part of Barwon Health, Victoria's largest regional health care provider, which has 21 sites. It is the largest hospital in regional Victoria and the only tertiary hospital outside of the Melbourne Metropolitan area. The site is bounded by Ryrie, Bellarine, Myers, and Swanston Streets.

The Geelong Showgrounds in Geelong, Victoria, Australia, are the home of the Royal Geelong Show, an agricultural show held every year since 1855. The current showgrounds are located in the suburb of Breakwater. The focus of the Royal Geelong Show is the display of rural industry, including livestock and produce, with associated competitions and awards. The show also features amusement rides, a sideshow alley, and showbags, carry bags full of goodies produced by various commercial enterprises.
