Grosser Mythen

The Kleiner Mythen is a mountain in the Schwyzer Alps of Central Switzerland. The mountain lies in the canton of Schwyz, to the east of the town of Schwyz, to the south of the village of Alpthal in the valley of the Alp river, and to the north of the Grosser Mythen.

The Rotenfluh (also spelled Rotenflue) is a mountain in the Swiss Prealps, located east of Schwyz in Central Switzerland. It is part of the range surrounding the valley of Alpthal, culminating at the Gross Mythen. The Rotenfluh is a popular vantage point over the Lake Lucerne region. The mountain is part of a ski area and is easily accessible from Rickenbach near Schwyz by the Rotenfluebahn, a gondola lift. Unlike the previous cable car, which culminated at an elevation of 1,527 metres, the current facility reaches a higher elevation, the upper station being within a few metres from the top. Several restaurants lie in the summit area.

Rickenbach is a village in the municipality of Schwyz, itself in the canton of Schwyz in Switzerland. It lies some 1.5 km (0.93 mi) to the east of the town centre of Schwyz. The Rotenfluebahn, a gondola lift, links Rickenbach with the summit of the Rotenfluh mountain, which is, in summer, a popular vantage point over the Lake Lucerne region, and, in winter, a ski area.

The Hochstuckli (1,566 m) is a mountain of the Schwyzer Alps, overlooking Mostelberg in the canton of Schwyz. In winter the mountain is part of a ski area. A ski-lift climbs to a height of 1,486 metres.

Sparkasse Schwyz AG is a regional savings bank in the Swiss Canton of Schwyz, founded in 1812 and thus one of the oldest banks in continuous operation in the world. The bank has offices in Schwyz, Brunnen, Goldau and Küssnacht am Rigi. As of 2008, it had 61 employees. It is associated with RBA-Holding. The bank's main shareholder is the municipality of Schwyz.

The town of Schwyz (German pronunciation: [ʃviːts] ; French: Schwytz; Italian: Svitto) is the capital of the canton of Schwyz in Switzerland. The Federal Charter of 1291 or Bundesbrief, the charter that eventually led to the foundation of Switzerland, can be seen at the Bundesbriefmuseum. The official language of Schwyz is (the Swiss variety of) German, but the main spoken language is the local variant of the Alemannic Swiss German dialect.

Battle of Schwyz im Muttenthal occurred on 14–15 August 1799 between French forces commanded by General of Division André Masséna and Major General von Franz Jellachich's brigade. The French lost 500 killed, wounded or missing, and the Austrians lost 2,400 men and six guns.

Schwyz District is a district of the canton of Schwyz, Switzerland. It is both the largest and most populous of the six districts of the canton of Schwyz, accounting for around half its surface area, and 40% of the population. It has a population of 56,125 (as of 31 December 2020). The district contains a total of 15 municipalities, of which the town of Schwyz is the capital.

The Museum of the Swiss Charters of Confederation (German: Bundesbriefmuseum; up to 1992 the Federal Charter Archive) is a history museum in Schwyz. It was built in 1936 as a national shrine for the Federal Charter of 1291, which was believed to be the founding document of the Swiss Confederation. Today, the museum explains the national myth and the actual history of the Old Swiss Confederacy. It features a collection of original documents and flags.

The Furggelenstock (1,656 m) is a mountain of the Swiss Prealps, located west of Oberiberg in the canton of Schwyz. It lies on the range surrounding Alpthal.

The Ibergeregg Pass is a mountain pass at an elevation 1,406 metres or 4,613 feet in the Swiss canton of Schwyz. The pass connects the town of Schwyz and village of Oberiberg, with onward links to Einsiedeln and the Sihlsee. The headwaters of the Minster, a tributary of the Sihl, are nearby, and the pass is flanked by the Alpine peaks of Furggelenstock and Firstspitz.A mule track has crossed the pass since the middle ages, and the current paved road was constructed in 1873. The pass road has a maximum grade of 14 percent.At the summit of the pass are an inn, a chapel, and a ski station. The area is a summer and winter resort, with skiing and hiking.

The Stoosbahn, also known as the Schwyz–Stoos funicular or Standseilbahn Schwyz–Stoos, is a funicular railway in the Swiss canton of Schwyz. It connects the Hintere Schlattli in the municipalities of Muotatal, Morschach, and Schwyz with the village and mountain resort of Stoos, above Morschach. On a length of 1.7 kilometres (1.1 mi), it overcomes a height difference of 744 metres (2,441 ft). It opened on 15 December 2017 and replaces the older Schwyz-Stoos funicular, operating since 1933 on a different route. The carriages are barrel-shaped and rotate to maintain a level floor surface for passengers. Construction took five years and cost 52 million Swiss francs.The new line has a maximum gradient of 110% (47.7°) and is the steepest funicular railway in Switzerland and Europe, superseding the Gelmerbahn. It has been widely claimed to be the steepest in the world, and although the Katoomba Scenic Railway in Australia is steeper, with a maximum gradient of 122%, it uses a winch system and is, therefore, an incline lift and not a funicular railway.
