Agate Beach State Recreation Site

KWPB-LP (98.7 FM, "Winds of Praise") is a low-power radio station broadcasting a contemporary Christian music format. Licensed to Newport, Oregon, United States, the station is currently owned by Winds of Praise Broadcasting.

Jump-off Joe was a 100-foot-tall sea stack geological formation composed of middle Miocene concretionary sandstone at Nye Beach in Newport, Oregon, United States. It was a well-known tourist attraction before World War I. It formed sometime before the 1880s when it was connected to the mainland, and was a major impediment walking the beach. Early travelers would have to jump off the side to get over it, hence the name. Early writers claimed the site was connected with Native American mythology. Natural forces separated it from the mainland in the 1890s, and its large arch collapsed in 1916.

Nye Beach is a central district in Newport in the U.S. state of Oregon. The Nye Beach historic overlay district is bounded on the north and south sides by Northwest Twelfth Street and Southwest Second Street respectively; on the east side by Hurbert Street and on the west side by the Pacific Ocean. Agate Beach post office was established in 1912 and closed in 1971.Historically, the area's most famous citizen was composer Ernest Bloch, who spent his later years in the community. The 1914 Ernest Bloch House is on the National Register of Historic Places and was once owned by the son of Asahel Bush and his family.In June 2012 a 165-ton floating dock dislodged from the March 2011 Japanese tsunami washed up ashore, creating a popular tourist attraction as well as an imperative to remove potential invasive species.

Yaquina Head ( yə-KWIN-ə) is a headland extending into the Pacific Ocean north of Newport, in the U.S. state of Oregon. It is the site of the Yaquina Head Light, and is managed as Yaquina Head Outstanding Natural Area by the Bureau of Land Management. It is part of the National Landscape Conservation System, commonly known as the National Conservation Lands.The United States Congress named the 95-acre (38 ha) headland an Outstanding Natural Area in 1980. The area's average elevation is 108 feet (33 m) above sea level. The headland is along U.S. Route 101, and is about 55 miles (89 km) west of Corvallis.Possible activities include hiking the area's five trails, each shorter than 0.5 miles (0.8 km), near the ocean or through forests of Douglas fir and Sitka spruce. Other attractions include whale-watching, bird-watching, visiting the site's interpretive center, and touring the lighthouse.Ancient lava flows formed Yaquina Head.

The Charles and Theresa Roper House, also known as Hilan Castle, is a historic residence located in Newport, Oregon, United States. Built in 1912–1913 to evoke a castle in the Scottish Highlands, it features such Medieval-inspired elements as a crenellated parapet, mullioned windows, a rounded corner tower, and a cantilevered turret. It is one of very few examples of the Castellated Gothic Revival style in Oregon, other than local armories. Its first owners, both Canadian immigrants, were locally notable figures: Charles Roper was a professional photographer whose work comprises an important documentary record of central Lincoln County in the 1910s and 1920s. He was elected mayor of Newport in 1922, and maintained a photography studio on the top floor of his house. Theresa Roper was the writer and illustrator of several books of romanticized history, and was a collector of local Native American objects that she used as a basis for her illustrations.The house was converted from single-family use to apartments in 1975. It was entered on the National Register of Historic Places in 1981.

Oregon Undersea Gardens was an underwater aquarium in Newport, Oregon, United States. The tourist attraction opened in 1966, and plans to close were announced in 2019.

The Yaquina Bay Light is a lighthouse that was built in 1871, soon after the founding of the city of Newport, Oregon, in the United States. It is located on the north side of Yaquina Bay. In 1871–1874, it was the busiest and most populated of the many coastal ports between Washington and California.
