Dąbrówka is a municipal neighbourhood, and a City Information System area, in Warsaw, Poland, within the district of Ursynów. It is a residencial area, consisting of single-family housing.The oldest known records of Dąbrówka come from 1422, when it was a small farming community. In 1898, in there were opened the Warszawa Dąbrówka Wąskotorowa narrow-gauge railway station operated by the Grójec Commuter Railway, and Stanisław Rostkowski's brick factory In the 1910s, in the area Rostkowski also founded a small settlement for his employees. Dąbrówka was incorporated into Warsaw in 1951.

LOT Polish Airlines Flight 5055 was a scheduled international passenger flight from Warsaw, Poland to New York City, the United States. In the late-morning hours of 9 May 1987, the Ilyushin Il-62M operating the flight crashed in the Kabaty Woods nature reserve on the outskirts of Warsaw around 56 minutes after departure. All 183 passengers and crew on board were killed in the crash, making it the deadliest accident involving an Ilyushin Il-62, and the deadliest aviation disaster in Polish history.The accident was determined to have been caused by the disintegration of an engine shaft due to faulty bearings. This led to a catastrophic failure of the two left engines and then an onboard fire, both of which eventually destroyed all flight-control systems.

The gmina covers an area of 128.22 square kilometres (49.5 sq mi), and as of 2016 its total population is 76,323 (out of which the population of Piaseczno amounts to 44,066, and the population of the rural part of the gmina is 32,257). The gmina contains part of the protected area called Chojnów Landscape Park.

Piaseczno County (Polish: powiat piaseczyński) is a unit of territorial administration and local government (powiat) in Masovian Voivodeship, east-central Poland. It came into being on January 1, 1999, as a result of the Polish local government reforms passed in 1998. The county contains three other towns: Konstancin-Jeziorna, 8 km (5 mi) east of Piaseczno, Góra Kalwaria, 18 km (11 mi) south-east of Piaseczno, and Tarczyn, 16 km (10 mi) south-west of Piaseczno. The county covers an area of 621.04 square kilometres (239.8 sq mi). As of 2019, its total population is 186,460; out of which, the population of Piaseczno is 48,286, that of Konstancin-Jeziorna is 17,023, that of Góra Kalwaria is 12,040, that of Tarczyn is 4,116, and the rural population is 81,465.
