Zegrze [ˈzɛɡʐɛ] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Serock, within Legionowo County, Masovian Voivodeship, in east-central Poland. It lies approximately 7 kilometres (4 mi) south-west of Serock, 11 km (7 mi) north-east of Legionowo, and 28 km (17 mi) north of Warsaw. The village gave its name to the nearby Zegrze Reservoir, a man-made lake constructed in 1963 with a hydroelectric complex producing 20 Megawatts of power, a popular place of recreation for the residents of Warsaw.is the location of a historic palace built in 1847 by the noble Krasiński family, given as a dowry of Jadwiga Krasińska in 1862, to her new husband Prince Maciej Radziwiłł. The palace, surrounded by a park, serves as a convention centre and a small hotel.

The Zegrze Fortress (Polish: Twierdza Zegrze) is a military structure located in Zegrze, Poland, on a high escarpment over the Narew River. Built in late 19th century by the Russian Empire, it was to guard a river crossing across the Narew. Modernised between 1902 and 1907, it was part of the so-called Warsaw Fortified Area (Russian: Варшавской укрепленной район) comprising three major nodes: the Warsaw Fortress, Modlin Fortress and Zegrze. The main body of the fortress consisted of two forts joined with an earthwork fortification, the so-called Large Fortification (Polish: Umocnienie Duże, Fort Ordon) and Small Fortification (Polish: Umocnienie Małe, Fort Karlinek). In addition to that, the fortress also commanded two additional forts: Fort Dębe located some 10 kilometres downstream, in the direction of Modlin, and Fort Beniaminów located across Narew. Apart from fortifications, the complex also included barracks at Beniaminów, Zagroby and Zegrze, seven munitions depots and a garrison church. The fortress took part in the Great Retreat of the Russian forces from Poland in 1915, during World War I. After 1918 it was taken over by Poland and took part in the battle of Warsaw of 1920 and later the defence against the Nazi and Soviet invasion of Poland in 1939. In recent years the Large Fortification was acquired by the National Bank of Poland.

Białobrzegi [bjawɔˈbʐɛɡi] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Nieporęt, within Legionowo County, Masovian Voivodeship, in east-central Poland. It lies approximately 3 kilometres (2 mi) north-east of Nieporęt, 11 km (7 mi) north-east of Legionowo, and 26 km (16 mi) north of Warsaw.

The Zegrze Reservoir (or Zegrze Lake, in Polish officially Jezioro Zegrzyńskie, unofficially Zalew Zegrzyński) is a man-made reservoir in Poland, located just north of Warsaw, on the lower course of the Narew river. It is formed by a dam constructed in 1963 with a hydroelectric complex producing 20 Megawatts of power. Its total area is about 33 km². The name originates from the nearby Zegrze village, featuring the historic Radziwiłł Palace (Pałac Zegrzyński) built in 1847 by the noble Krasiński family.

Arciechów is a village in the Masovian Voivodeship, Poland. It is located in the Wołomin County and is part of the Radzymin gmina. The village is a recreational area located on the shore of the Zegrze Reservoir (5 km of coastline), situated 17 km from the boundaries of Warsaw, 10 km from Nieporęt and 13 km from the center of Radzymin. The entire village is within the boundaries of the Warsaw Landscape Protected Area. A private noble village named Arciechowo was located in the second half of the 16th century in the Kamieńczyk County of the Mazovian Voivodeship. From 1975 to 1998, the village was part of the Warsaw Voivodeship. Until 1992, the village of Arciechów was part of the parish of Serock. For several decades in the 20th century, a permanent ferry crossing operated from Arciechów to Serock across the Narew River. In 2019, after a long break, a holiday catamaran ferry service was launched on the same route. They take place every weekend of the holiday season and are very popular among tourists.[1]

Gmina Serock is an urban-rural gmina (administrative district) in Legionowo County, Masovian Voivodeship, in east-central Poland. Its seat is the town of Serock, which lies approximately 17 kilometres (11 mi) north-east of Legionowo and 34 km (21 mi) north of Warsaw. The gmina covers an area of 108.96 square kilometres (42.1 sq mi), and as of 2006 its total population is 11,236 (out of which the population of Serock amounts to 3,721, and the population of the rural part of the gmina is 7,515).

Serock [ˈsɛrɔt͡sk] is a town at the north bank of the Zegrze lake in the Legionowo County, Masovian Voivodeship, Poland, around 40 kilometres (25 miles) north of Warsaw. It has 4,109 inhabitants (2013).

The Bug or Western Bug is a major river in Eastern Europe that flows through Belarus (border), Poland, and Ukraine, with a total length of 774 kilometres (481 mi). A tributary of the Narew, the Bug forms part of the border between Belarus and Poland for 178 kilometres (111 mi) and part of the border between Ukraine and Poland for 185 kilometres (115 mi).The Bug is connected with the Dnieper by the Dnieper-Bug Canal. Out of its 38,712 square kilometres (14,947 sq mi) drainage basin, half is in Poland, just over a quarter in Belarus, and slightly under a quarter in Ukraine.
