Jadwisin [jadˈviɕin] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Serock, within Legionowo County, Masovian Voivodeship, in east-central Poland. It lies approximately 5 kilometres (3 mi) south-west of Serock, 13 km (8 mi) north-east of Legionowo, and 30 km (19 mi) north of Warsaw.

Zegrzynek [zɛˈɡʐɨnɛk] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Serock, within Legionowo County, Masovian Voivodeship, in east-central Poland. It lies approximately 5 kilometres (3 mi) south of Serock, 13 km (8 mi) north-east of Legionowo, and 29 km (18 mi) north of Warsaw. The village is a birthplace of playwright Jerzy Szaniawski, member of the Polish Academy of Literature in interwar Poland and author of popular stories about Professor Tutka published in daily press in postwar Poland. His parents owned an estate in Zegrzynek (practically the entire settlement), with the manor visited by writers such as Maria Konopnicka and Konrad Prószyński. It was nationalized by the communists after the war. It is widely assumed that it was Jerzy's wife, Anita Szaniawska (née Szatkowska) who set Szaniawskis country manor on fire in 1977, causing not only its total destruction, but also the death of two squatters locked inside. She died in a mental hospital.

The Zegrze Reservoir (or Zegrze Lake, in Polish officially Jezioro Zegrzyńskie, unofficially Zalew Zegrzyński) is a man-made reservoir in Poland, located just north of Warsaw, on the lower course of the Narew river. It is formed by a dam constructed in 1963 with a hydroelectric complex producing 20 Megawatts of power. Its total area is about 33 km². The name originates from the nearby Zegrze village, featuring the historic Radziwiłł Palace (Pałac Zegrzyński) built in 1847 by the noble Krasiński family.

The palace, surrounded by a park, serves as a convention centre and a small hotel.

The Zegrze Fortress (Polish: Twierdza Zegrze) is a military structure located in Zegrze, Poland, on a high escarpment over the Narew River. Built in late 19th century by the Russian Empire, it was to guard a river crossing across the Narew. Modernised between 1902 and 1907, it was part of the so-called Warsaw Fortified Area (Russian: Варшавской укрепленной район) comprising three major nodes: the Warsaw Fortress, Modlin Fortress and Zegrze. The main body of the fortress consisted of two forts joined with an earthwork fortification, the so-called Large Fortification (Polish: Umocnienie Duże, Fort Ordon) and Small Fortification (Polish: Umocnienie Małe, Fort Karlinek). In addition to that, the fortress also commanded two additional forts: Fort Dębe located some 10 kilometres downstream, in the direction of Modlin, and Fort Beniaminów located across Narew. Apart from fortifications, the complex also included barracks at Beniaminów, Zagroby and Zegrze, seven munitions depots and a garrison church. The fortress took part in the Great Retreat of the Russian forces from Poland in 1915, during World War I. After 1918 it was taken over by Poland and took part in the battle of Warsaw of 1920 and later the defence against the Nazi and Soviet invasion of Poland in 1939. In recent years the Large Fortification was acquired by the National Bank of Poland.

Gmina Serock is an urban-rural gmina (administrative district) in Legionowo County, Masovian Voivodeship, in east-central Poland. Its seat is the town of Serock, which lies approximately 17 kilometres (11 mi) north-east of Legionowo and 34 km (21 mi) north of Warsaw. The gmina covers an area of 108.96 square kilometres (42.1 sq mi), and as of 2006 its total population is 11,236 (out of which the population of Serock amounts to 3,721, and the population of the rural part of the gmina is 7,515).
