Long Wittenham is a village and small civil parish about 3 miles (5 km) north of Didcot, and 3.5 miles (5.6 km) southeast of Abingdon. It was part of Berkshire until the 1974 boundary changes transferred it from Berkshire to Oxfordshire, and from the former Wallingford Rural District to the new district of South Oxfordshire.

Paradise Wood is a research woodland established by the Earth Trust (formerly Northmoor Trust) between the villages of Little Wittenham and Long Wittenham in Oxfordshire England. It has evolved to become the largest collection of hardwood forestry trials in Britain.Planning for the wood started in 1992 and tree planting began in 1993. The Research Woodland was originally conceived and developed by Gabriel Hemery and was established as a centre for research into the improvement of the quality and productivity hardwood trees. The ultimate aim is to create a woodland of 55 hectares in area. It contains a large number of trials supervised by the Future Trees Trust.On the northern edge of Paradise Wood a small community woodland was planted in 2005 to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Trafalgar. It was named after HMS Neptune as part of a project with the Woodland Trust. It provides free public access and contains some oak trials.

Clifton Lock is a lock on River Thames in Oxfordshire, England. It is located south of the village of Clifton Hampden and north of Long Wittenham. It is at the start of the Clifton Cut, which bypasses the river to the north of Long Wittenham. The lock was completed in 1822 by the Thames Navigation Commissioners. The main weir, which was built thirteen years later than the lock, runs across the old navigation of the river. A smaller weir runs just above the lock.

Pendon Museum, located in Long Wittenham near Didcot, Oxfordshire, England, is a museum that displays scale models, in particular a large scene representing parts of the Vale of White Horse in the 1920s and 1930s. The scene, under construction since the 1950s and with parts dating back earlier, was inspired by detailed research into the architecture and landscape of the vale, with some models of cottages taking hundreds of hours to complete. The late Roye England founded it, (an anglophile Australian who lived in England), and run jointly by the late English Model Maker, Guy Williams, (who made fifty-seven of the museum's ninety locomotives). They can be seen working together in the 1958 British Pathé short, 'Hair Thatching'. A group of volunteers runs the museum and it is open to the public most weekends and holidays, except during the winter. and Wednesdays during school holidays.

Clifton Hampden Bridge is a road bridge crossing the River Thames in Clifton Hampden, Oxfordshire, England, situated on the reach below Clifton Lock. Originally it joined Oxfordshire on the north bank with Berkshire on the south but in 1974 the area on the south bank was transferred from Berkshire to Oxfordshire. It is a Grade II* listed building.Clifton Hampden Bridge was designed by Sir George Gilbert Scott and opened in 1867. The bridge replaced a ferry service which had operated on the site since at least the early 14th century. From its opening a toll was payable but this ceased in 1946 when the County Councils of Berkshire and Oxfordshire joined to buy the bridge from its private owners.

Clifton Hampden Manor is a country house in the village of Clifton Hampden, Oxfordshire, England, overlooking the River Thames. It has been a Grade II listed building since 1987.It was built by Sir Gilbert Scott about 1843–46 as a parsonage for Henry Hucks Gibbs, who in 1896 became Hucks Gibbs, 1st Baron Aldenham. It was soon extended, probably by Charles Buckeridge, for the Revd. J.L. Gibbs.In 2000, a descendant, the antiques dealer and collector and 60s figure Christopher Gibbs reluctantly sold the house, and Christie's auctioned off the contents over two days.The house is now owned by the singer-songwriter Kate Bush.

Clifton Hampden is a village and civil parish on the north bank of the River Thames, just over 3 miles (5 km) east of Abingdon in Oxfordshire. Since 1932 the civil parish has included the village of Burcot, 1 mile (1.6 km) east of Clifton Hampden. The 2011 Census recorded the parish population as 662.

Little Wittenham is a village and civil parish on the south bank of the River Thames, northeast of Didcot in South Oxfordshire. In 1974 it was transferred from Berkshire to the county of Oxfordshire and from Wallingford Rural District to the district of South Oxfordshire.

Earth Trust Centre is the hub of the Earth Trust Farm at Little Wittenham, at the foot of Wittenham Clumps and includes: the main office; Earth Lab, where education activities take place; Innovation Hub, the newly refurbished barn which is available for corporate space hire; Fison Barn and courtyard, a beautiful venue available to hire for weddings, celebrations and corporate events; and Poem Tree Café, which is only open during Earth Trust's larger festivals and events. During the week the office gardens are often being used by education groups; when not in use, please feel free to explore – we have a wild play area and sensory garden with ponds. The car park is open during office hours for visitors to the Centre. The Earth Trust Centre is open to school groups and the general public for special events.

Little Wittenham Bridge is a footbridge across the River Thames in England near Dorchester-on-Thames, Oxfordshire. It is just downstream of Day's Lock on the reach above Benson Lock and connects Little Wittenham to Dorchester. The bridge spans the river in two sections with Lock House Island in between. The lock house, built in 1928 is situated on the island. The bridge is one of two used in the World Poohsticks Championships for the heats, and is used as the bridge for the final of the event.

Day's Lock is a lock on the River Thames near Dorchester-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, England on the Dorchester side of the river. The pound lock was built in 1789 by the Thames Navigation Commissioner. The lock is across the river from the small village of Little Wittenham and is overlooked from the south by the hills of Wittenham Clumps, with a particularly good view from Round Hill. The weir runs straight across the river from the other side of the lock island. Day's Lock is the main gauging station for the measurement of the water flow in the River Thames. The Thames Path crosses the river here. The World Poohsticks Championships, on behalf of the RNLI, have taken place annually here since 1983.
