Los Angeles Fire Department Station No. 1 was built in 1941. The Streamline Moderne station located at 2230 Pasadena Avenue replaced an older station, 3 blocks west of its current location. Built in 1887, the original station was the city of Los Angeles' first professional, full-time fire station. The former station's plot of land at Pasadena Ave & North Avenue 19 now houses the LAFD's supply and maintenance yard.Built under the auspices of the Works Progress Administration, the new 6,534 sq ft station was built at a cost of $65,000.00 USD, with the city of Los Angeles responsible for $29,000.00 USD. P. K. Schabarum and Charles O. Brittain of the Los Angeles City Department of Construction were responsible for the station's design.When the new station opened on March 6, 1941, the two-story, reinforced concrete structure housed Engine Company No. 1 and Truck Company No. 1, as well as serving as the headquarters for Battalion Chief 2.The station was listed as Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument #156 on July 7, 1976.

Lincoln Heights Branch Library is the second oldest branch library in the Los Angeles Public Library system. Located in the Lincoln Heights section of Los Angeles, California, it was built in the Classical Revival and Italian Renaissance Revival styles in 1916 with a grant from Andrew Carnegie. One of three surviving Carnegie libraries in Los Angeles, it has been designated as a Historic-Cultural Monument and listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Church of the Epiphany is the oldest operating Episcopal church in Los Angeles. The church's campus is located at the intersection of Sichel and Altura streets in the Lincoln Heights neighborhood. In 2005 it was designated a Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2020.The congregation was founded in 1887. The original church was designed in the Romanesque Revival style by English architect Ernest Coxhead. In 1913 that building was converted to the parish hall and Arthur Benton was commissioned to design a new church sanctuary. Benton's structure incorporated Gothic Revival and Mission Revival in addition to Romanesque Revival. The pipe organ was designed by Henry Pilcher & Sons of Louisville, Kentucky.In 1968, the church served as a planning base for the East L.A. Chicano student walkouts and the Chicano Moratorium anti-Vietnam War protest. Cesar Chavez gave speeches in the parish hall and La Raza, an underground pro-Chicano newspaper, was printed in the church basement.The non-profit Epiphany Conservation Trust was founded in 2010 to raise funds to restore the church. Restoration is being directed by the Los Angeles firm of Escher GuneWardena Architecture. Repairs began in 2011 and to date have covered structural work on the parish hall and restoration of four stained glass windows.

Sacred Heart High School is a Roman Catholic high school for girls in the Lincoln Heights neighborhood of Los Angeles, California. Located in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Los Angeles, the school was founded by the Dominican Sisters of Mission San Jose in 1907.

Los Angeles Leadership Academy is a free charter school system in Los Angeles, California. The school has been noted with a alumni that has nearly a 100 percent acceptance to college. Students that graduate from Los Angeles Leadership Academy have been admitted to and attended Harvard, Stanford, North Western, Brown, Cal Poly, Penn State, UC Berkeley, and Penn State just to name a few. The schools in the system includes Los Angeles Leadership Academy Primary School, Los Angeles Leadership Academy Middle School, and Los Angeles Leadership Academy High School. The school is located in Lincoln Heights.

Historical Monument # 157, aka HM157, is an 1886 Victorian house in Lincoln Heights, Los Angeles. Also referred to as the Horace P Dibble House, HM157 is on the California Historical landmark list. Historical Monument #157 has become the center of the Lincoln Heights art community, operating as a catalyst for arts and culture. HM157 was voted "Best Underground Date Night 2009" and "Best Escape From Corporate Entertainment 2010" by The LA Weekly. HM157 functions as a music venue, gallery, multi-purpose art work space, farm, and location for public and private events, film/video/photo shoots, cinema screenings, eco-workshops, lectures & fundraisers. Some of the concerts put on at this venue have included artists like Jeffertitti's Nile, White Magic, Miranda Lee Richards, Tara Jane O'Neil, Entrance Band and more.

Lincoln/Cypress station is an elevated light rail station on the L Line of the Los Angeles Metro Rail system. It is located above Avenue 26 between Artesian Street and Lacy Street in the Lincoln Heights and Cypress Park neighborhoods of Los Angeles, and next to the line's crossing of Interstate 5 This station opened on July 26, 2003, as part of the original Gold Line, then known as the "Pasadena Metro Blue Line" project. The station features a free park-and-ride lot.

Lincoln Heights Jail is a former jail building complex in the Lincoln Heights neighborhood of Los Angeles, California, located adjacent to the Los Angeles River and situated about 0.7 miles (1.1 km) southwest of the Lincoln/Cypress station. The original building built in the late 1920s is noted for its Art Deco style. The jail was designated a Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument on November 30, 1993.

The Brewery Arts Complex (also known as the Brewery Art Colony) in Los Angeles has been called the largest live-and-work artists colony in the world. The 16-acre compound sits on twenty-one former warehouses and includes a former Edison power plant chimney dating to 1903, work studios, living lofts, restaurants and galleries. The Brewery is home to practitioners of artistic media that include painting, sculpture, photography, industrial design, architecture and experimental new media. More than 100 of the studios are open to the public during the twice-yearly Brewery Art Walk.

The Arroyo Seco, meaning "dry stream" in Spanish, is a 24.9-mile-long (40.1 km) seasonal river, canyon, watershed, and cultural area in Los Angeles County, California. The area was explored by Gaspar de Portolà who named the stream Arroyo Seco as this canyon had the least water of any he had seen. During this exploration he met the Chief Hahamog-na (Hahamonga) of the Tongva Indians.

The Portolá Trail Campsite or Portolá Trail Campsite No. 1 is the spot of the first Europeans to travel and camp overnight in what is now Central Los Angeles, California. The Portolá expedition camped at the site on August 2, 1769. The Portolá Trail Campsite No. 1 was designated a California Historic Landmark (No.655) on Sept. 26, 1958. The Portolá Trail Campsite is located in what is now the Elysian Park entrance, at the NW corner of North Broadway and Elysian Park Drive in the City of Los Angeles in Los Angeles County. The campsite is near the Los Angeles River, which they used as their water supply for the camp. Military officer Gaspar de Portolá was the commander of the expedition for the Spanish Empire with the goal of the Spanish colonization of the Americas. The expedition led to the founding of the first mission in the Los Angeles Basin, the Mission Vieja, on September 8, 1771 and of Alta California. The expedition arrived at Portolá Trail Campsite No. 1 from the San Gabriel Valley, were the Mission San Gabriel would be built later in 1776. As they depart Portolá Trail Campsite No. 1 they traveled west towards Santa Monica Bay, stopping at Portolá Trail Campsite 2, which is in present day Beverly Hills. Portolá Trail Campsite 2 is also a California Historic Landmark (No.665). At San Monica Bay the expedition turned and traveled north to were the future Mission San Fernando would be built in 1797. Form San Fernando the expedition turned west to Ventura, the site of the future Mission San Buenaventura built in 1782. Listed on the State Marker 655:Don Gaspar de Portolá (1723–1786) – Expedition Leader would become the first Governor of the Californias. Captain Don Fernando Rivera y Moncada (1725–1781) – soldier and became the third Governor of The Californias. Lieutenant Don Pedro Fages (1734–1794) – soldier, became Lieutenant Governor under Gaspar de Portolá. Sgt. José Francisco Ortega (1734–1798) – soldier and early settler of Alta California. Leader of the Presidio of San Diego. Father Juan Crespí (1721–1782) – recorded the complete expedition. Founder of first mission in area. Father Francisco Gómez – served as chaplain for the expedition, a Father from Mission San Diego, later move to Mission Carmel.

California's 34th congressional district is a U.S. congressional district in California. Located in Los Angeles County, the district is represented by Democrat Jimmy Gomez. Its previous U.S. representative, Democrat Xavier Becerra of Los Angeles, resigned January 24, 2017, to become attorney general of California. Representative Gomez won a special election on June 6, 2017, beating fellow Democrat Robert Lee Ahn to replace Becerra. He was later sworn in as the district's U.S. representative on July 11, 2017.The district is almost entirely within the City of Los Angeles, and includes the following neighborhoods in Central, East, and Northeast Los Angeles: Boyle Heights, Chinatown, City Terrace, Cypress Park, Downtown Los Angeles, Eagle Rock, El Sereno, Garvanza, Glassell Park, Highland Park, Koreatown, Little Bangladesh, Little Tokyo, Lincoln Heights, Montecito Heights, Monterey Hills, Mount Washington, and Westlake.
