Purmer

Purmerbuurt is a village in the Dutch province of North Holland in the polder the Purmer. It is part of the municipality of Purmerend, and is directly connected to the city of Purmerend by an Intersection. The village has its own church, de Purmerkerk. Purmerbuurt is surrounded by the Purmerbos. (Purmer forest)

Monnickendam (Dutch pronunciation: [ˌmɔnɪkənˈdɑm]) is a city in the Dutch province of North Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Waterland, and lies on the coast of the Markermeer, about 8 km (5.0 mi) southeast of Purmerend. It received city rights in 1355 and was damaged by the fires of 1500 and 1513.

Since 2016, the former municipality of Zeevang has merged with the municipality of Edam-Volendam.

The museum has a large collection of delftware and majolica. They also have an exhibition where guests can go inside the Speeltoren carillon.In 2015, the museum was awarded the national Dutch "Museum Discover Award."

Katwoude is a village in the province of North Holland, Netherlands. It is a part of the municipality of Waterland, and lies on the coast of the IJsselmeer, about 2 km north of Monnickendam. The village was first mentioned in 1310 as "lant van Kattwoude". The etymology is unclear. Even though there is a cat in the shield, it is unlikely to be related to the animal.Katwoude was home to 182 people in 1840. It used to be a separate municipality between 1817 and 1991, when it became part of Waterland. Katwoude used to share a mayor with Monnickendam.

Edam (Dutch pronunciation: [eːˈdɑm] (listen)) is a town in the northwest Netherlands, in the province of North Holland. Combined with Volendam, Edam forms the municipality of Edam-Volendam. Approximately 7,380 people live in Edam. The entire municipality of Edam-Volendam has 28,492 inhabitants. The name Edam originates from a dam on the little river E or IJe where the first settlement was located and which was therefore called IJedam. Edam is famous as the original source of the cheese with the same name.

Purmerend Overwhere is a suburb railway station in Purmerend, Netherlands. The station opened in 1971, and lies 2 km north of Purmerend. The station is on the Zaandam–Enkhuizen railway.
