Mothers against repression or Mothers and women against repression (Spanish: M.A.R. por Cuba - Spanish: Madres y Mujeres Anti-Represión) is a human rights organization based in Miami, Florida, United States that campaigns against political repression in Cuba.

Alice Wainwright Park is a 28-acre (11 ha) waterfront park and nature preserve located in northern Coconut Grove, Miami, Florida, United States, on the southern border of Brickell. It is named for Alice C. Wainwright, who was the first woman elected to serve on the City of Miami Commission.The park planted with palm and gumbo limbo trees, offers, "a stunning vista of Biscayne Bay."The park is located on Biscayne Bay and has several acres of green space, as well as some athletic and recreational facilities including a playground and basketball courts. The park was built as part of the 1972 Parks for People Bond. The park's entrance is located on a secluded extension of Brickell Avenue that is disconnected from the main portion that was formerly signed as U.S. Route 1. Street parking is available and the road is also part of a popular for biking, where two popular routes converge, including the Rickenbacker Causeway. Along with Simpson Park Hammock, Alice Wainwright Park includes a fragment of the once widespread tropical hardwood hammock known as Brickell Hammock. The park was once considered partially responsible for some of the blight in the secluded neighborhood, which has long been home to many wealthy residents, including celebrities. This led to contention over the street parking as higher enforcement and private security were on the rise.

Vizcaya station is a station on the Metrorail rapid transit service station in The Roads neighborhood of Miami, Florida. The station is located near the intersection of Southwest First Avenue and 32nd Road, at the southern terminus of I-95 at South Dixie Highway (US 1) two blocks southeast of Coral Way. The Vizcaya station opened May 20, 1984 and features a pedestrian bridge over the US 1/I-95 junction for access to the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens and residences east of the highway.

The American Museum of the Cuban Diaspora, located at 1200 Coral Way in Miami, Florida, is a museum dedicated to the history and culture of those who left Cuba due to the rise of communism. It was established in 2016.The museum is a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization. It was established with funds from 2004 Building Better Communities bond program. It also received financial support from the Miami-Dade County.The museum hosts permanent and special exhibitions. Their 2021 exhibit, Operation Pedro Pan: The Cuban Children's Exodus, recounted the story of 14,000 children who escaped Cuba without their parents between the years of 1960 and 1962. As of 2021, the museum's executive director is Carmen Valdivia.

Villa Serena, also known as the William Jennings Bryan House, in Miami, Florida, was a winter home of politician William Jennings Bryan. The Bryans hosted events of 500 persons there many times.It was designed by architect August Geiger (1887-1968).Villa Serena was purchased by philanthropist Adrienne Arsht in 2007. Arsht spent four years renovating the property, keeping it in line with the traditional architectural elements. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in January, 2012.

The Atlantis Condominium is a landmark 20-story luxury condominium building in Miami, Florida. It was built between 1980 and 1982 and was designed by the architect Hervin Romney and architectural firm Arquitectonica. The building was exclusively represented and sold by Alicia Cervera of Cervera Real Estate. It is known for its glass facade and primary color scheme and the 5-story palm court which is cut out of the building. The palm court features a red spiral staircase, a hot tub, and a palm tree. The Atlantis's claim to fame was when it was featured on the opening credits of the television series "Miami Vice," and being used as an exterior filming set in two episodes. The building has 96 units and is located at 2025 Brickell Avenue. This building is an icon to the Miami skyline. On April 18, 2012, the AIA's Florida Chapter placed Atlantis on its list of Florida Architecture: 100 Years. 100 Places.

The Coral Way Bilingual K-8 Center, built as Coral Way Elementary School in 1936, is a K-8 school located in Miami, Florida, United States (US). The school was a pioneer of bilingual education in 1963, when it began teaching through the mediums of English and Spanish with two groups of students (English- and Spanish-speakers). In 2004, the school expanded to includes grades 7 and 8. The school building was designed by August Geiger, a noted South Florida architect who worked for the Dade County School Board. The architecture is Mediterranean Revival style and was constructed under the auspices of the Works Projects Administration and completed in 1936. On September 3, 1963, Coral Way Elementary opened its doors as the first publicly funded bilingual program in the US with students from two different native-language backgrounds. With funding from the Ford Foundation, school district leaders (Dr. Pauline Rojas, Dr. Joseph Hall, Dr. Rosa Inclán, Mr. Ralph Robinett), teachers, and paraprofessionals, which were referred to as "Cuban aides," implemented a bilingual curriculum where students were taught academic content through two languages. The 1963 program began with about 350 grade 1–3 students, selected to maintain a balance of 50% English- and 50% Spanish-speakers. In the mornings, students were taught the curriculum in their native language (referred to as the "vernacular"). After midday, students transferred to classrooms in which the curriculum was taught through their second language. Reports indicated that both groups of students made academic progress in both languages without loss to their native language development. The 1963 Coral Way bilingual program had 7 initial goals, two of which related to second language acquisition. The remaining goals addressed long term outcomes such as cross-cultural understanding and positive contributions to society. A 1973-1974 report by the Department of Program Evaluation for the Miami-Dade County Schools revealed that the students who attended the dual language programs continued to show progress on standardized testing [data source needed]. Dissertation data in 1968 from Dr. Mabel Wilson Richardson, a first grade teacher at the school in 1962, indicated similar findings. The success of the program paved the way for the Bilingual Education Act of 1968 and more than 3,000 two way immersion programs in the US by 2020.

The Emerson Dorsch Gallery, founded in 1991 as the Dorsch Gallery, is an art gallery in Miami, Florida, United States founded by Brook Dorsch. Initially located in Dorsch's 2nd story apartment over Parkway Drugs on Coral Way, the gallery featured the work of local young Miami artists, many of whom were enrolled in the University of Miami's Visual Arts department. The gallery gained an underground following after positive reviews from Miami Herald critic Helen Kohen. In early 2000, the gallery relocated to Wynwood, one of the first commercial galleries to open there, and was a driving force in setting up the Wynwood Art District in 2001. In 2013, the Dorsch Gallery was renamed to Emerson Dorsch, reflecting the addition of Tyler Emerson-Dorsch as a partner in the gallery, along with a renovation of the building. The gallery closed at the Wynwood location in June 2015 and subsequently relocated to Little Haiti. The gallery represents South Florida artists as well as emerging and mid-career visiting artists. Represented artists include Jen Clay, Clifton Childree, Felecia Chizuko Carlisle, Elisabeth Condon, Eleen Lin, Karen Rifas, Onajide Shabaka, Robert Thiele, Frances Trombly, and Paula Wilson. Emerson Dorsch has mounted solo exhibitions by notable artists such as: Walter Darby Bannard, Robert Chambers, Corin Hewitt, Victoria Fu, Michael Jones McKean, Brookhart Jonquil, Siebren Versteeg, Arnold Mesches, Tameka Norris Gustavo Matamoros, Cheryl Pope, Mette Tommerup and Saya Woolfalk. The Gallery's program crosses over to other cultural events outside of the visual arts such as concerts and dance performances. They have featured varied artists such as Iron and Wine, SSingSSing, Tere O'Connor, Arthur Doyle, Cock ESP, Otto von Schirach and Awesome New Republic.

Simpson Park, officially Simpson Park Hammock, is a 7.8-acre (3.2 ha) urban park and nature preserve located between Brickell and The Roads neighborhoods of Miami, Florida. The park was originally known as Jungle Park, as 5.5 acres (2.2 ha) were set aside in 1913 by a group of individuals to preserve what is now one of the last remaining tracts (along with Alice Wainwright Park and a spot on Virginia Key) of Brickell Hammock, a tropical hardwood hammock which once ran from the Miami River to Coconut Grove. The park lies on the Miami Rock Ridge at an elevation over 15 feet (4.6 m) above sea level, relatively high for the Miami area. The soils are mostly shallow muck (Matecumbe Series) over limestone. In 1927 the park's name was changed in honor of Miami botanist and conservationist Charles Torrey Simpson. In 1940 an additional 3 acres (1.2 ha) of adjacent hammock was incorporated into the park. A building known as the Charles Torrey Simpson Garden Center was constructed on this addition in 1941. This is also the main entrance to the park, at 55 SW 17th Road. Simpson Park is home to 15 endangered plant species, such as Licaria triandra, and 9 threatened plant species. Being a remnant of local regional ecology in the highly developed downtown area, Simpson Park has the qualities of an urban wild or "passive park".

The Santa Maria is a residential skyscraper in the City of Miami, Florida, United States. The building is located in the city's Brickell neighborhood, south of Downtown. The building has 51 floors and is 520 feet (160 m) tall. The address is 1643 Brickell Avenue. The building is just a short distance from the Brickell Financial District. The building was completed in 1997, before the most recent major building boom in Miami began.

The Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, previously known as Villa Vizcaya, is the former villa and estate of businessman James Deering, of the Deering McCormick-International Harvester fortune, on Biscayne Bay in the present-day Coconut Grove neighborhood of Miami, Florida. The early 20th-century Vizcaya estate also includes extensive Italian Renaissance gardens, native woodland landscape, and a historic village outbuildings compound. The landscape and architecture were influenced by Veneto and Tuscan Italian Renaissance models and designed in the Mediterranean Revival architecture style, with Baroque elements. F. Burrall Hoffman was the architect, Iwahiko Tsumanuma (also known as Thomas Rockrise) was the associate architect, Paul Chalfin was the design director, and Diego Suarez was the landscape architect.Miami-Dade County now owns the Vizcaya property, as the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, which is open to the public. The location is served by the Vizcaya Station of the Miami Metrorail.
