Pennypack, Philadelphia

Rhawnhurst is a residential neighborhood in the Northeast section of Philadelphia, named for George and William Rhawn by area real estate developers. Roughly bordered by Cottman Avenue to the south, Pennway Street to the west, the Pennypack Creek to the north, and Roosevelt Boulevard to the east, Rhawnhurst encompasses ZIP codes 19152 and part of ZIP code 19111. The geographic center of Rhawnhurst is at the intersection of Castor Avenue and Rhawn Street.

Pennypack Creek is a 22.6-mile-long (36.4 km) creek in southeastern Pennsylvania in the United States. It runs southeast through lower Bucks County, eastern Montgomery County and the northeast section of Philadelphia, before emptying into the Delaware River.

Pennepack Baptist Church — also known as Pennepek Baptist Church and Lower Dublin Baptist Church — is a historic Baptist church in Bustleton, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA, that is one of the oldest Baptist congregations in North America. It is situated in the 23rd Ward of Philadelphia, by Pennepek [Pennypack] Creek. The church congregation was founded in 1688 by Elias Keach, the son of Benjamin Keach, as the first Baptist church in Pennsylvania. The church was originally Calvinist (Reformed) in theology. The current church building was constructed in 1805 on the site of two earlier church buildings dating back to 1707. Ebenezer Kinnersley, a notable scientist, served as minister for a period in the 1700s. The church still meets weekly.

Lexington Park is a neighborhood in the Northeast section of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It is bounded on the west by Roosevelt Boulevard, and on the north, east and south by Pennypack Park. The neighborhood is made up mostly of twin and single homes built in the years following the Second World War, and a few apartment buildings built not long thereafter. There are some commercial establishments along Rhawn Street and Roosevelt Boulevard. Convenience to the park makes it an attractive location for families with children. Lexington Park is also home to Nazareth Hospital.

Politz Hebrew Academy, formerly known as William C. Jacobs School and Fayette School, is a historic school located in the Bustleton neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The building consists of an original section designed by Samuel Sloan in 1855, and the main building built in 1915. The original building is a two-story, stone building sheathed in stucco. The 1915 building is a 2+1⁄2-story, three-bay, rectangular brick building in the Colonial Revival style. It features a hipped roof and gable dormers.The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

Krewstown is a neighborhood of Northeast Philadelphia close to both eastern Montgomery County, Pennsylvania and southern Bucks County, Pennsylvania located around Krewstown Road, west of the Roosevelt Boulevard. Uses of the name Krewstown include a bridge, a train station, a set of public horse stables, an apartment house complex (Krewstown Park), and the neighborhood around the apartment house complex. The Krewstown area includes a good number of Northeast Philadelphia's newer housing. In an overwhelmingly Democratic City where the Democratic mayoral nominee received 58% of the vote in the 2007 election for mayor, the Krewstown area has remained the same with considerable Democratic strength.The Krewstown area is host to annual concerts in Pennypack Park.

Roosevelt Mall is a medium-sized outdoor shopping mall, located along Pennsylvania Route 73 (Cottman Avenue) between Bustleton Avenue west end and U.S. Route 1 (Roosevelt Boulevard) in the east end, or Rhawnhurst neighborhood, of Northeast Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The mall has 45 stores and services. It is currently anchored by a large, three-level Macy's department store on its east end. Since 2015, the mall has featured a flea market on Saturdays during the summer.

Northeast High School is a high school located at 1601 Cottman Avenue (at Algon Avenue) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. Northeast is one of the oldest high schools in Philadelphia, founded in 1890 as the Northeast Manual Training School. Before 1957, it was located at 8th Street and Lehigh Avenue in Philadelphia (later the home of Thomas Edison High School). As of June 2016 Northeast High School had 175 graduating classes. Some of the best known alumni include Lil Uzi Vert (hip hop artist), Herb Adderley (hall of fame football player), Eddie Stanky (major league baseball player and manager), Guy Rodgers (hall of fame basketball player), Brent Grimes (former football cornerback), Carlos Mina from Buenos Aires, Argentina (hall of fame soccer player), Sonny Hill (organizer of Philadelphia summer basketball leagues), Ralph Garman (TV/radio personality & podcaster), & Drew Gulak (WWE Cruiserweight Champion & WWE 24/7 Champion). Northeast serves Rhawnhurst and other sections of Northeast Philadelphia. The high school was featured in the A&E series Teach: Tony Danza, where actor Tony Danza taught a tenth grade English class during the 2009–2010 school year. It was also the setting for Frederick Wiseman's 1968 documentary on high schools titled, simply, High School. Woodrow Wilson Middle School is a historic middle school located in the Castor Gardens neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It is part of the School District of Philadelphia. The building was designed by Irwin T. Catharine and built in 1892 February, 16. It is a three-story, 15-bay, brick and limestone building in the Classical Revival style. It features a projecting center entrance pavilion, four Doric order columns supporting an entablature, and balustraded parapet. The school was named after the 28th President President of the United States Woodrow Wilson. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.Woodrow Wilson Middle School is a certified International Baccalaureate School since 2012. On November 14, 2017, the school was placed on lockdown at 1:45 PM. There were reports of a gun in the school. Police surrounded the school and went class the class check for anything. Later Officers went class to class dismissing classes. The lockdown was officially over at 5:23 PM. No one was hurt and no gun was found. Woodrow Wilson Middle School was placed on lock down for about two hours on March 15, 2019, because, according to police, a teenage boy brought in three live rounds to the school. The boy is in custody. No weapon was found inside the school and no one was hurt.

Steve's Prince of Steaks is a cheesesteak eatery that was founded in 1980 on Bustleton Ave in the Oxford Circle section of Northeast Philadelphia. The eatery has since expanded to three additional locations and is popular among locals. The eatery is known for its melted American cheese and does not chop the meat.

Abraham Lincoln High School, a public school located in the Mayfair section of Northeast Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. Its main entrance is located at Ryan and Rowland Avenues. The principal is Mr. Jack Nelson. It serves Mayfair, Holmesburg, and Torresdale.

Knowlton Mansion, also known as the Rhawn Residence, is a historic mansion in the Fox Chase neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. The three-story mansion was designed in the Gothic Revival style by renowned 19th century architect Frank Furness as a residence for William Rhawn, a successful Philadelphia banker. The house was completed in 1881 and was named after John Knowles, Rhawn's wife's great-grandfather. It later served as the residence for Robert MacKay Green II, who was the son of Robert MacKay Green I who invented ice cream soda in 1874. The mansion was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974. Today the mansion serves as the home to Conroy Catering. The first fundraiser held at Knowlton by Conroy Catering was for former State Representative Chris Wogan in December 1997 .
