St Edward's School, Oxford

The North Wall Arts Centre (often just referred to as the North Wall) is a performing arts centre in Oxford, owned by St Edward's School and shared with the city. It houses a 200-seat theatre, plus a rehearsal space, dance studio and a visual art gallery. The arts centre hosts touring theatre companies, musicians and other public events, as well as events by the school, with the aim to provide facilities and arts events both for St Edward's students and for the public at large.In 2017, John Hoggarth and Ria Parry were appointed as co-directors of the North Wall, replacing Lucy Maycock, who had been the Artistic Director since September 2010.

South Parade is a shopping street in Summertown, north Oxford, England. It runs between Woodstock Road to the west and Banbury Road to the east, where there are also shops stretching south from South Parade. This area of the Banbury Road and South Parade form the main shopping centre of Summertown and indeed of North Oxford. As well as shops, there are a number of restaurants located here. To the west, South Parade leads into St Edward's School and the North Wall Arts Centre.

JACK FM was an adult hits format radio station that broadcast on 106.8 MHz FM in Oxford, Oxfordshire, United Kingdom, and on DAB in Oxfordshire. Between 2016 and 2017 it also broadcast in Surrey and parts of Hampshire. The station shared premises in Eynsham, Oxfordshire, with its sister stations JACK 2 and JACK 3. As of September 2023, the station broadcast to a weekly audience of 55,000, according to RAJAR.The station closed at 22:00 on 29th October 2023 following the acquisition of the FM frequencies by Bauer to become part of the Greatest Hits Radio network.

Woodstock Road Baptist Church, located in Summertown, Oxford, UK is an evangelical church and is a member of the Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches.

The Tolkien Trust is a British charity founded in 1977 that manages the money received from J. R. R. Tolkien's estate (the Tolkien Estate). Specifically, the trust enables its trustees, the members of Tolkien's family, to donate regularly to whichever causes they may choose. The trust states that such charitable causes include the "arts, education, environment, homelessness, international development, international relations and peace building, migration, prison reform, and UK and international health and medical research".On 11 February 2008, together with Tolkien's publisher HarperCollins, the trust filed a suit against New Line Cinema over the profits of The Lord of the Rings film series. On 8 September 2009, a settlement between the Trust and New Line was announced, clearing a potential obstacle to the making of a new film series based on The Hobbit.

BBC Radio Oxford is the BBC's local radio station serving the county of Oxfordshire. It broadcasts on FM, DAB, digital TV and via BBC Sounds from studios in the Summertown area of Oxford. According to RAJAR, the station has a weekly audience of 79,000 listeners and a 3.4% share as of September 2023.

Summertown in North Oxford is a suburb of Oxford, England. Summertown is a one-mile square residential area, north of St Giles, the boulevard leading out of Oxford's city centre. Summertown is home to several independent schools and the city's most expensive houses. On both sides of Banbury Road are Summertown's popular shops. There is also a smaller street of shops and restaurants, South Parade, that links Banbury Road and Woodstock Road. Summertown is home to much of Oxford's broadcast media. BBC Radio Oxford and the BBC Television's Oxford studios are on Banbury Road. Start-ups also have an increasing presence on the parade, such as Brainomix and Passle. The studios for JACK FM, Glide FM, and Six TV Oxford (no longer broadcasting) are on Woodstock Road.

North Oxford is a suburban part of the city of Oxford in England. It was owned for many centuries largely by St John's College, Oxford and many of the area's Victorian houses were initially sold on leasehold by the college.

Bainton Road is a residential road in north Oxford, England.The road runs south–north and then west–east, skirting around the west and north sides of the St John's College playing field. At the eastern end is a junction with Woodstock Road (A4144), a major arterial road out of Oxford to the north. At the southern end is a junction with Frenchay Road. The road continues south as Hayfield Road. To the west is the Oxford Canal. N. W. Harrison, surveyor to the North Oxford building estate, laid out the road around the west and north side of the cricket ground of St John's College. The houses in Bainton Road were first leased between 1906 and 1931. Morris Motors made car radiators in a factory on Bainton Road. In September 1925, the MG Cars factory moved from the cramped facilities at Alfred Lane (Pusey Lane off Pusey Street since around 1927) in central Oxford to join the Radiator Branch at Bainton Road, within a partitioned area of the premises. The MG 14/28 car was manufactured at both sites between 1924 and 1927. The Holiday Caravan Company was also based in Bainton Road.The New Zealand writer, journalist and editor John Mulgan (1911–1945) lived at 5 Bainton Road. The Welsh academic, novelist and critic Raymond Williams (1921–1988) bought 47 Bainton Road from a colleague in 1960. The physicist, philosopher and author Danah Zohar has lived at 57 Bainton Road.

Banbury Road is a major arterial road in Oxford, England, running from St Giles' at the south end, north towards Banbury through the leafy suburb of North Oxford and Summertown, with its local shopping centre. Parallel and to the west is the Woodstock Road, which it meets at the junction with St Giles'. To the north, Banbury Road meets the Oxford Ring Road at a roundabout. The road is designated the A4165 (which continues for a short distance as Oxford Road to Kidlington). Prior to the building of the M40 motorway extension in 1990, the road formed part of the A423 from Maidenhead to Coventry.

Lathbury Road is a short residential road in north Oxford, England. The road runs approximately east–west with a small curve halfway along. At the western end of the road is a junction with Woodstock Road (A4144) and at the eastern end is a junction with Banbury Road (A4165), the two major arterial roads out of Oxford to the north. To the south is Staverton Road and to the north is Moreton Road. It lies to the north of the original North Oxford development by St John's College, Oxford but since it is south of Summertown it is often considered to be part of Central North Oxford, with high house prices.The Bengali author and broadcaster Nirad Chaudhuri (1897–1999) lived at 20 Lathbury Road from 1982 to 1999. A blue plaque was installed by the Oxfordshire Blue Plaques Board in 2008. The jurist and international lawyer Sir Humphrey Waldock (1904–1981) lived at 6 Lathbury Road. The historian Ralph Henry Carless Davis (1918–1991) lived in Lathbury Road with his wife Eleanor. The philologist and Kafka authority, Sir Malcolm Pasley (1926-2004) lived at number 25 with his wife Virginia. Number 26, Elmswood, was built by the Arts and Craft architect Percy Richard Morley Horder for Ulric Vernon Herford (1866-1938). From a Unitarian family, Herford was consecrated as a bishop in the Syro-Chaldean (Nestorian) Church, and is considered one of the founders of Free Catholicism. Elmswood has a chapel and was more recently occupied by the linguist Maurice Pope (1926-2019). Other Lathbury road residents have included George Brownlee and Harriet Green. In the early 1980s, Williams College, a liberal arts college located in Williamstown, Massachusetts, United States, purchased a group of houses, today known as the Ephraim Williams House, on Banbury Road and Lathbury Road. The Williams-Exeter Programme was founded in 1985. Since that time, 26 undergraduate students from Williams College spend their junior year at Exeter College, Oxford each year as members of the college. The Nursery (for 2–5-year-old children) is located at 17 Lathbury Road. The main premises of St Clare's, an independent international boarding school founded in 1953, is also located at 139 Banbury Road, just to the north of Lathbury Road.
