Clarke Cooke House (also known as Clark Cooke House or Clark Cook House) is a historic colonial house and restaurant on Bannister's Wharf at 285 Thames Street in Newport, Rhode Island.

Trinity Church, on Queen Anne Square in Newport, Rhode Island, is a historic parish church in the Episcopal Diocese of Rhode Island. Founded in 1698, it is the oldest Episcopal parish in the state. In the mid 18th century, the church was home to the largest Anglican congregation in New England.The current Georgian building was designed by architect Richard Munday and constructed in 1725–26. It one of the largest extant 18th century New England churches and has been designated a National Historic Landmark since 1968.

The Perry Mill is a historic mill building at 337 Thames Street in Newport, Rhode Island. It is a large five-story stone structure on the Newport waterfront. It was built in 1835 by master stonemason Alexander MacGregor (who also oversaw the construction of Fort Adams in Newport) as part of an initiative to boost the city's flagging economy. Of the four mills built in the 1830s only this one and the Newport Steam Factory survive. This building was originally four stories when built.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1972. The building now houses a club and hotel.

The United Congregational Church (also called First Congregational Church, Second Congregational Church and Newport Congregational Church) is a historic former church building in Newport, Rhode Island. The congregation was formerly affiliated with the United Church of Christ (UCC). Built in 1857, the church was designated a National Historic Landmark in 2012, in recognition for the unique interior decorations executed in 1880–81 by John La Farge.

The Newport Steam Factory is an historic building at 449 Thames Street in Newport, Rhode Island. It is a 3+1⁄2-story stone structure, 120 feet (37 m) by 48 feet (15 m). It was built in 1831 by a group of local businessmen in an effort to boost the local economy, which had suffered since the British occupation during the American Revolutionary War. The building was used as a cotton mill until 1857. In 1892 it was purchased by the Newport Illuminating Company. It is now part of the International Yacht Restoration School. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972.

The Dr. Charles Cotton House is an historic house at 5 Cotton Court in Newport, Rhode Island. It is one of the city's oldest houses. It is a 2+1⁄2-story wood-frame structure, five bays wide, with a large central chimney and a hipped roof. The original portion of the house was built around 1720 with large Georgian style additions in the 18th century and modifications in the nineteenth century. Dr. Charles Cotton, a great-grandson of Josiah Cotton and surgeon aboard the USS Constitution, owned the house in the early 19th century and gave the house its current name. The Cotton House was taken by eminent domain by the Newport Restoration Foundation in 1974 from the Cotton family who owned the house for 157 years. The Foundation moved the house in 1977 from its original location across the adjoining parking lot. The house was restored from 1979 to 1980. The site added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

The Seamen's Church Institute is a social service organization and historic building located in Newport, Rhode Island. Founded in 1919, the Institute's mission is to provide men and women of the sea and persons referred from the community a safe haven in which they may find comfort, recreation and benefit.

The Charles Tillinghast House was a historic house at 243-245 Thames Street in downtown Newport, Rhode Island. It was a 2+1⁄2-story timber-frame structure, with a side-gable roof, built around 1710–20. It was one of the oldest buildings in the city. It was probably built by Charles Tillinghast, whose family was among the founders of Rhode Island. The house had a distinctive cove-shaped plaster cornice, typically found on houses of this period. It was one of the first houses to be built on Thames Street.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972. It was demolished shortly after to make way for an extension of America's Cup Highway to Memorial Boulevard.

Arnold Burying Ground (also known as the Governor Arnold Burying Ground) is a historic cemetery on Pelham Street just east of Spring Street in Newport, Rhode Island. It is the burial place of Benedict Arnold, Rhode Island's first governor under the Royal Charter of 1663.

The Vernon House is a historic house in Newport, Rhode Island built in 1758 for Metcalf Bowler. The house is an architecturally distinguished colonial-era house with a construction history probably dating back to the late 17th century, with alterations made in the 18th century, possibly by architect Peter Harrison. During the American Revolutionary War this house served as the headquarters of the Comte de Rochambeau, commander of the French forces stationed in Newport 1780–1783. The house was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1968. The house is named after William Vernon, prominent slave trader and figure of the American Revolution, who purchased the home in 1773.

St. Mary's Church, officially the Church of the Holy Name of Mary, Our Lady of the Isle, is a historic Catholic parish church complex at 14 William Street, the corner of Spring Street and Memorial Boulevard, in Newport, Rhode Island within the Diocese of Providence. It is the church of the oldest Catholic parish in the state. The church is also notable for hosting the wedding of Jacqueline Bouvier and Senator, later President, John F. Kennedy in 1953.
