Davidstow Circuit

Royal Air Force Davidstow or more commonly RAF Davidstow Moor is a former Royal Air Force station located 2.9 miles (4.7 km) north east of Camelford, Cornwall and 11.5 miles (18.5 km) west of Launceston, Cornwall, England. It was used from late 1942 until 1945, and despite a few periods of intense activity it was one of Coastal Command's lesser used airfields.

It was formerly known as Dewstow(e).'Davidstow Cheddar' and 'Cathedral City' brands of cheese are produced at Davidstow Creamery which is operated by Dairy Crest using water ultimately from St David's Holy well, next to the parish church. A military airfield, RAF Davidstow Moor, was built near the village during the Second World War and was later used as a motor racing circuit.

In the medieval period, Hendraburnick was a manor held under Launceston Castle.Feet of fines records that in 1383 some land in the settlement of Hendraburnick was held by a Roger Knyght, reverting on his death to a John Lordman of Treleigh.A 17th century farmhouse there is a grade II listed building.Hendraburnick Quoit to the north east is a Late Neolithic dolmen, regarded as "the most decorated or deliberately marked stone in southern Britain".

Lesnewth (Cornish: Lysnowyth) is a civil parish and village in Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. It is about six miles east of Tintagel Head and two miles east of Boscastle.The parish is bounded on the north by St Juliot (where the 2011 census population is included.), on the east by St Juliot and Davidstow, on the south by Davidstow, and on the west by Minster, Cornwall. It is a small sparsely populated parish set in farmland with only a few houses, farms and a church. Lesnewth manor is mentioned in the Domesday Survey of 1086, as Lisniwen. Lesnewth was also the name of one of ten ancient administrative shires of Cornwall: see Lesnewth (hundred). Lesnewth lies within the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).

Otterham (Cornish: Prasotri) is a village and a civil parish in north Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. The village is situated approximately ten miles (16 km) south of Bude and six miles (9.7 km) north of Camelford.Otterham Mill, Otterham Down and Otterham Station (see below) are neighbouring settlements to Otterham village; all take the name from the River Ottery which rises in the parish. The church was established during the Norman period, but the north transept was removed in 1889.

The Lowermoor Water Treatment Works supplies drinking water to the north Cornwall water distribution network. Raw water is obtained from the Crowdy Reservoir, which is 3/4 mile to the north east, and which is filled predominantly by run-off and drainage from surrounding moorland. The works were constructed in 1973.At the time of the Camelford water pollution incident, water treatment was being carried out by South West Water.
