SAS Institute (or SAS, pronounced "sass") is an American multinational developer of analytics software based in Cary, North Carolina. SAS develops and markets a suite of analytics software (also called SAS), which helps access, manage, analyze and report on data to aid in decision-making. The company's software is used by most of the Fortune 500.SAS Institute started as a project at North Carolina State University to create a statistical analysis system (hence the proper name, Statistical Analysis System) that was originally used primarily by agricultural departments at universities in the late 1960s. It became an independent, private business led by current CEO James Goodnight and three other project leaders from the university in 1976. SAS grew from $10 million in revenues in 1980 to $1.1 billion by 2000. In 1998 a larger proportion of these revenues were spent on research and development than at most other software companies; in 1997 these were more than double the industry average.

Cary Township (also designated Township 4) is one of twenty townships within Wake County, North Carolina, United States. As of the 2010 census, Cary Township had a population of 74,074.Cary Township, occupying 32.4 square miles (83.9 km2) in western Wake County, includes the bulk of the town of Cary and portions of the town of Apex and the city of Raleigh. Cary Township contains two high schools: Cary High School (public) and Cary Academy (private).

The Herbert C. Young Community Center is the local community and recreation center in Cary, North Carolina. The center opened in 1991, and was the first such facility in the town. It was renamed in 2001 in honor of Herb Young, a 20-year volunteer and former Town Council member who also served on the Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources Advisory Board member. The facility supports athletic programs and fitness classes among other events. The lower gymnasium can support large events, such as performing arts or other large special events.

The Page-Walker Hotel, also known as the Page-Walker Arts & History Center, is a historic house museum and former hotel located in Cary, North Carolina. The founder of the town of Cary, Allison Francis Page, built the Second Empire style hotel about 1868, and J. R. Walker bought it later. Page's son Walter Hines Page (1855–1918) was an American journalist, publisher, and diplomat.
