Biscay

Biscay is one of the 59 constituencies (Spanish: circunscripciones) represented in the Senate of Spain, the upper chamber of the Spanish parliament, the Cortes Generales. The constituency elects four senators. Its boundaries correspond to those of the Spanish province of Biscay. The electoral system uses an open list partial block voting, with electors voting for individual candidates instead of parties. Electors can vote for up to three candidates.

The constituency currently elects eight deputies. Its boundaries correspond to those of the Spanish province of Biscay. The electoral system uses the D'Hondt method and a closed-list proportional representation, with a minimum threshold of three percent.

Alonsotegi (Spanish: Alonsotegui) is a municipality in the province of Biscay, Basque Country, Spain. Alonsotegi was attached to the Baracaldo municipality until the end of the 19th century, when it separated and was officially recognized as its own independent municipality. Alonsotegi is approximately 8 kilometres from the center of Bilbao. It is located in the valley of the Cadagua River, following Highway BI-636. With a total area of 21 km², its 2,907 inhabitants (INE 2019) are distributed across three main settlements: Alonsotegi (the capital), Iráuregui, and Arbuyo.

Mount Cobetas (Spanish: Monte Cobetas; Basque: Kobeta Mendi) is a mountain in the city of Bilbao, Spain. It is located southwest from the city center and stands 205 m (673 ft) high. It raises between the neighborhoods of Altamira and Zorroza, both located in the district Basurto-Zorroza. It was refurbished in 2005 and became the largest park of the city, with an area of 18.5 ha (46 acres). On the top stands the ruins of the Altamira Fort, used during the Spanish Civil War. It is known locally as the location of the open air music festival Bilbao BBK Live, that takes place during the first weekend of July.

Basurto-Zorroza (or Basurtu-Zorrotza) is the eighth district of the city of Bilbao (Biscay), in the Spanish Basque Country. It is divided into the neighbourhoods of Altamira, Basurto, Olabeaga, Masustegui-Monte Caramelo and Zorrotza. It is separated from Barakaldo by the river Kadagua. Its area is 7.09 square kilometers and has a population of 31,672 inhabitants.

Zorrotzaurre (Spanish: Zorrozaurre) is an artificial island located within the Deusto district of Bilbao, Spain.

Sarriko is a station on lines 1 and 2 of the Bilbao metro. The station is located in the neighbourhood of Ibarrekolanda, part of the Deusto district. It is named after the Sarriko park located nearby. The station is in close proximity to the Faculty of Business and Economic Sciences of the University of the Basque Country as well as the conservatory of music. It was opened on 11 November 1995.

Gurutzeta/Cruces is a station on line 2 of the Bilbao metro. It is located in the neighborhood of Gurutzeta, in the municipality of Barakaldo. The station is located in near proximity to the University Hospital of Gurutzeta (also known as Hospital de Cruces in Spanish), the largest public healthcare facility in the Basque Country. The station was opened on 13 April, 2002, as part of the opening of line 2.The trip from San Ignazio to Gurutzeta/Cruces takes four minutes, making it the longest interval between underground stations throughout the entire Bilbao metro network. It is one of four stations located in Barakaldo, the other being Ansio, Bagatza and Barakaldo.

The Frank Gehry Bridge (Basque: Frank Gehry Zubia; Spanish: Puente Frank Gehry) is a bridge in Bilbao that connects Deusto and Zorrotzaurre. Its name is a tribute to Canadian-born American architect Frank Gehry, author of the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao.

Sociedad Deportiva Deusto is a Spanish football team based in Deusto (Greater Bilbao), in the autonomous community of Basque Country. Founded in 1913, it plays in the Tercera División RFEF – Group 4, holding home games at Campo de Fútbol de Etxezuri, with a capacity of 1,000 seats.

Bilbao Intermodal, previously known as Termibus, is the main bus station of Bilbao (Basque Country, Spain) and it is located beside San Mamés Stadium. The bus terminal is linked to the San Mamés underground, tram and commuter rail station. Termibus is the starting point of the BizkaiBus A3247 bus line to the Bilbao Airport.
