St Oscar Romero Catholic School (formerly Chatsmore Catholic High School; formerly Blessed Robert Southwell High School) is a coeducational Roman Catholic secondary school located in the Goring-by-Sea area of Worthing, West Sussex, England.It is a voluntary aided school administered by West Sussex County Council and the Roman Catholic Diocese of Arundel and Brighton. The school is named after Archbishop Óscar Romero.

English Martyrs' Church is in Compton Avenue, Goring-by-Sea, Worthing, West Sussex, England. It is an active Roman Catholic parish church in the diocese of Arundel & Brighton and the Worthing deanery. Hand-painted by Gary Bevans over five and a half years, English Martyrs' Church has the world's only known reproduction of Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel ceiling, which has been described as "a marvel" and "astonishing".

The Southern Theatre Arts Centre (STAC) is a training venue for performers, technicians and production students, it is based in Durrington, West Sussex, near Worthing, West Sussex, England, about 15 miles from the city of Brighton & Hove. It is a division of Northbrook College and is affiliated with the University of Brighton.STAC has a range of Theatre Arts Courses from National Diplomas to Foundation Degrees and BA Hons. Its venue Northbrook Theatre regularly hosts touring companies from around the UK and Europe. Productions in recent years include Wild Party, Chess, The Blue Room, Angles in America, Metamorphosis and West. The theatre, which can seat 200 people, is also used for music gigs and open day conferences. In the past STAC worked closely with Prodigal Theatre & The Nightingale Theatre, the patron was Steven Berkoff. Many past pupils have gone on to work in TV & Film productions such has BBC's Inspector George Gently, Being Human, Britain's Next Top Model, Tracy Beaker Returns, Midsomer Murders, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, Hollyoaks, Holby City, Batman Begins, 24: Live Another Day, The Inbetweeners Movie, Extras, and Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation. Theatre works include The Chichester Festival Theatre, West End, Broadway, Sydney Opera House, The National Theatre, Birmingham Stage Company, Connaught Theatre, Bristol Old Vic and Cockpit Theatre, Marylebone. Northbrook College is a further education and higher education college that is part of the Chichester College Group. It currently has three campuses: Broadwater Campus and West Durrington Campus in Worthing and Shoreham Airport Campus in Shoreham-by-Sea, although in 2024 it announced its intention to sell the 2.4-ha (5.9-acre) Broadwater Campus which would be closed in 2025, with learning consolidated across the West Durington site and Worthing College's site in Broadwater.It was founded in or before 1890 as the Worthing School of Art and Science.The college is the largest provider of higher education for the creative and cultural industries in West Sussex. It is also a significant provider of higher education in a variety of other work-related areas. The college also has contracts for apprenticeship training and adult and community learning, and provides courses in most work-related areas as well as those for personal development. The college's creative degrees, including fashion, photography and media in Worthing are validated by the University of the Arts London and its Motorsport courses in Shoreham are validated by the University of Brighton.

St Mary's Church is an Anglican church in the Goring-by-Sea area of the Borough of Worthing, one of seven local government districts in the English county of West Sussex. The late Norman parish church of the ancient village of Goring retains some architectural elements from that period, but Decimus Burton's comprehensive restoration of 1837 has given the church its present Gothic Revival exterior appearance. German artist Hans Feibusch, who worked extensively in the Diocese of Chichester, provided a mural in 1954: it is considered impressive, but caused controversy at the time. English Heritage has listed the church at Grade II* for its architectural and historical importance.

Highdown Gardens are a unique chalk garden set in the South Downs National Park on the western edge of the town of Worthing, close to the village of Ferring and the National Trust archaeological site Highdown Hill, in West Sussex, England. Overlooking the sea from the South Downs, they contain a collection of rare plants and trees, collectively a national collection. The gardens are managed and maintained by Worthing Borough Council with free admission and relies on donations to maintain its collection for all to enjoy now and for the generations to come. Created from a chalk quarry where there was little soil and unfavourable conditions for plant growth, the Chalk Garden at Highdown is the achievement of Sir Frederick Stern (1884–1967) and his wife, who purchased the 8.52 acres (3.45 ha) in 1909 and worked for 50 years to show that plants would grow on chalk.The gardens were created during a period when expeditions were going to China and the Himalayas collecting rare and interesting plants. Many of the original plants from the early collections are in the garden today, particularly plants collected by Reginald Farrer and Ernest Henry Wilson. After the death of Sir Frederick in 1967, aged 83, Lady Stern carried out his wishes and left the gardens in trust to Worthing Borough Council in 1968. Over the years historians such as Chris Hare and more recently Hamish MacGillivray from ACME Museum services have enabled the establishment of a clear timeline. West Sussex record Office were also instrumental in managing and archiving the vast collection of documents revealed through this heritage investigations. National Heritage Lottery Fund: From 2019 to 2021, Highdown has had an uplift, a well deserved improvement to celebrate the importance of this local treasure. This was made possible thanks to a considerable investment of over £1m, largely financed by the National Heritage Lottery Funds and Worthing Borough Council. The makeover included a set of restored glasshouses, an essential part of the plant heritage programme to preserve and share Highdown National Plant Collection. The gardens and National plant Collection: The gardens are home to a ‘living library’ of rare plants and trees adapted to live on chalk throughout the year. Many of the plants are from the original collection started by keen horticulturist Sir Frederick Stern in 1909. The gardens has a fantastic plant and science heritage and seasonal highlights which visitors are encouraged to discover during their visit in the visitor centre as well as during the guided tour and on the Highdown Gardens website. During spring and early summer there is a succession of flowering bulbs: snowdrops, crocus, anemones and daffodils, followed by paeonies and bearded iris.. Since reopening of the gardens, the collection is managed and curated by Alex New, supported by 4 full time craft gardeners and volunteers. Public events and activities take place in the gardens led by Custodian Gwenn Parker-Tregoat & Visitor Experience Manager Ellen Mascard. Sterns was a nightclub located at Highdown Towers on Highdown Hill in Worthing, West Sussex. It was situated off the A259 road just north of Ferring on the South Downs. It became known as a major centre of UK rave culture in the south of England during the late 1980s and early 1990s. It was a rare example of an early UK club boasting 4 separate rooms with DJs playing house, breakbeat hardcore, jungle music, techno, progressive house and hard house.Although Sterns had played such music before and was a forerunner in underground parties, the most famous club nights were started in 1991 by a promoter named In-ter-dance run by the late Mensa. Such was the club nights' reputation that it was credited by a number of artists on their record sleeves, was one of the most well known Rave/House & Hardcore clubs in Europe and was regularly visited by clubbers from all over the UK.

Ferring is a coastal village, civil parish and electoral ward in the Arun District of West Sussex, England. It is part of the built-up area of Worthing and is accessed along the A259 road 3 miles (4.8 km) west of the town - comprising North Down Farm and Highdown Hill to the north and the town itself to the south, with approximately equal size green buffers to the town in size, to east to Goring-by-Sea and west to East Preston. In the 2001 census 4361 people lived in 2179 households, of whom 1423 were economically active. The area's seafront is pedestrianised and the beach itself is a mixture of shingle and pebble, reinforced by groynes. The population at the 2011 Census was 4,480.
