Saint Roch Cemetery (French: Cimetière Saint-Roch) is the first municipal cemetery in the city of Grenoble, France. It was blessed by the bishop of Grenoble Claude Simon on 19 August 1810. It is the largest cemetery in the city with 13 ha (32.12 acres). Located on the rue du Souvenir, alongside the Isère, in the district of Île Verte, it is the city's only intramural cemetery, currently containing 25,000 graves over an area of 13 hectares (32.12 acres). The city has another cemetery, that of Grand Sablon, in the adjacent city of La Tronche. Among those buried here are political leaders, military personnel, scientists and artists. The most important tombs however are of manufacturers of gloves. The sculptors Victor Sappey, Henri Ding, Eustache Bernard, Aimé Charles Irvoy and Urbain Basset are also buried here. Many mayors of the city since the French Revolution are buried in this cemetery, from Joseph-Marie de Barral, mayor in 1790, to Albert Michallon, mayor from 1959 to 1965, as are the painters Jules Flandrin and Jean Achard and Camille Teisseire, representative for Isère in the French Chamber of Deputies (1820–1824) and Chevalier de la Légion d'honneur. The most prestigious monument in the cemetery is the Saint Roch Chapel, built during the Bourbon Restoration in 1826 to replace the old chapel of the same name, built in the 15th century near a hospital for lepers.

The Couvent des Minimes de Grenoble (English: Minim Monastery of Grenoble) is a former monastery constructed about 1644 by the Minim friars, a semi-contemplative mendicant order, which is located on the Rue du Vieux Temple in Grenoble, France. Occupied by several institutions since the expulsion of the friars during the French Revolution, it is currently used as a student dormitory and the former chapel serves as a concert hall, particularly as the base of the orchestral group, Les Musiciens du Louvre.

Grenoble Cathedral (French: Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Grenoble) is a Roman Catholic church located in the town of Grenoble, France. It is a national monument, and is the seat of the Bishop of Grenoble (since 2006 Bishop of Grenoble–Vienne).

The Natural History Museum of Grenoble (French: Muséum d'histoire naturelle de Grenoble) is a municipal museum founded in 1851, in Grenoble, France. Since the opening of the building in 1855, it presents to the public a rich natural heritage, in particular alpine heritage. The museum houses a collection of one and a half million objects and specimens in the disciplines of botany, zoology, geology and even ethnology. Facades and roofs on the edge of the Jardin des Plantes (Plants Garden) have been listed as historical monuments since January 24, 1944.

The Museum of Grenoble (French: Musée de Grenoble) is a municipal museum of Fine Arts and antiquities in the city of Grenoble in the Isère region of France. Located on the left bank of the Isère River, place Lavalette, it is known both for its collections of ancient art for its collections of modern and contemporary art. Thanks to the action of one of its curators of the interwar period (Andry-Farcy), it is considered the very first museum of modern art in France.Its temporary rooms allow it to organize two exhibitions each year.

The Musée de l'Ancien Évêché (Museum of the Former Bishopric) is a departmental museum located in Grenoble, France and dedicated to the Isère heritage through the history of its Bishop's palace. Inaugurated in 1998, it is settled in the former Bishop's palace, near Grenoble Cathedral. The museum gives access to the remains of an early Christian baptistry and to a section of the vestiges of the Gallo-Roman wall in the basement of the building.

The Vestiges (traces) of the Gallo-Roman wall are the remains of a fortification, constructed in Grenoble, France (formerly called Cularo) at the end of the 3rd century, under the reign of the Emperors Diocletian and Maximian. The status of Civitas marked the city of Cularo as an administrative capital of the Roman Empire. The Gallo-Roman wall was 1,150 meters in length, and had 39 semi-circular watchtowers which were 7.5 meters in diameter. It had two monumental gates decorated by inscriptions identifying the two Roman emperors. The Gallo-Roman wall played an important role in the protection of the 9-hectare urban surface of the Roman settlement. It served as a symbol of the status of Civitas. The wall was built up of small limestone blocks and was covered with plaster. Some parts of the wall were 4 meters thick and made up of limestone, pebble and tuileau rubble. These materials were held together by mortar.

The Stade des Alpes is a rugby and football stadium in Grenoble, France. The stadium seats 20,068 and hosts the home games of Grenoble Foot 38 and the FC Grenoble rugby club. Situated in Paul Mistral Park, it replaced their stadium Stade Lesdiguières. The venue was built while GF38 played in the top divisions of French football, and had become somewhat of a white elephant when the club fell to the 4th division and attracted few fans. However, the stadium gained greater viability once FC Grenoble earned their most recent promotion to the Top 14 in 2012. Since 2014–15, with FC Grenoble now consolidated in Top 14, the club have changed their primary home from their traditional ground, Stade Lesdiguières, to Stade des Alpes. With GF38 returning to the second tier of French football in 2017, the side began to attract more fans again. The first goal scored there was by Ivorian striker Franck Dja Djedje, then at Grenoble on loan from Paris Saint-Germain F.C.On February 10, 2017, it hosted a Six Nations Under 20s Championship match between France and Scotland with France winning 36 - 8. This stadium uses solar panels and produces more than 70 MWh per year.

Cularo was the name of the Gallic city which evolved into modern Grenoble. It was renamed Gratianopolis in 381 to honor Roman emperor Gratian. The first remaining reference to what is now Grenoble dates back to a July 43 BC letter by Munatius Plancus to Cicero. The small town founded by the Allobroges Gallic people was at that time called Cularo. In 292, the western emperor Maximian elevated the town to the rank of “city” and had defensive walls built around it. These walls both protected the urban area and marked its status of Civitas. Their vestiges are now a landmark of this era. Wishing to thank and honor the emperor Gratian for creating its bishopric, the inhabitants of Cularo renamed their town Gratianopolis in 381. That name would subsequently evolve into Grenoble through Graignovol. The Saint-Laurent crypt and the baptistery of Grenoble date also back from the Gallo-Roman period (4th century), and have been preserved to this day; the latter remained in use until the 9th century but had later been buried under accumulated urban layers; it was rediscovered in 1989 during the construction of tramway tracks, excavated until 1996, and incorporated into the adjacent Musée de l'Ancien Évêché. Several small sections of the Gallo-Roman city wall are also visible in the old town, especially in rue Lafayette.

Paul Mistral Park (Parc Paul Mistral in French) is an urban park located in Grenoble. It is 67 acres (27 ha) and it holds important sporting facilities and the city hall. Placed inside an old military engineering ground, it was created thanks to the International Exhibition of Hydropower and Tourism which took place in 1925.

Grenoble Archaeological Museum is a museum located in Grenoble, France. It occupies the historic site of Saint-Laurent at the foot of the Bastille on the right bank of the Isère.

Palais des Sports, known also as the Palais des sports Pierre Mendes or "Le Stade Olympique de Glace" is an indoor ice hockey arena, located in Paul Mistral Park in Grenoble, France. The vaulted roof structure was built from November 1966 to April 1967, therefore having tough weather problems to add to construction difficulties. The stadium was conceived for the 1968 Winter Olympics held in Grenoble in 1968 and has a capacity of up to 12,000 spectators.
