St Paul's Cathedral School

St Augustine, Watling Street, was an Anglican church which stood just to the east of St Paul's Cathedral in the City of London. First recorded in the 12th century, it was destroyed by the Great Fire of London in 1666 and rebuilt to the designs of Christopher Wren. This building was destroyed by bombing during the Second World War, and its remains now form part of St Paul's Cathedral Choir School.

Bread Street is one of the 25 wards of the City of London the name deriving from its principal street, which was anciently the City's bread market; already named Bredstrate (to at least 1180) for by the records it appears as that in 1302, Edward I announced that "the bakers of Bromley and Stratford-le-Bow [London], and ones already living on the street, were forbidden from selling bread from their own homes or bakeries, and could only do so from Bread Street." The street itself is just under 500 ft (153 m) in length and now forms the eastern boundary of the ward after the 2003 boundary changes. The modern ward extends much further west from Bread Street itself and includes Paternoster Square, a modern development to the north of St Paul's Cathedral and home of the London Stock Exchange since 2004. The City's major shopping centre which opened in 2010 is at One New Change within Bread Street Ward.

Old Change was a street in the City of London, connecting Cheapside to Knightrider Street.The street was originally known as Old Exchange. It was named after a building constructed in the 13th century for coining bullions, which is commemorated by a plaque in the gardens by St Paul's Cathedral. Edward Herbert, 1st Baron Herbert of Cherbury had a house with gardens adjacent to the street. The Church of St Augustine was on the corner of Old Change. It was rebuilt in the late 17th century by Christopher Wren following the Great Fire of London.During the early 18th century, Old Change was inhabited by Armenian merchants who set up numerous silk and woollen warehouses.Old Change was destroyed during World War II. A replacement street, New Change was built slightly to the east of this following the war. The church tower was restored and is now Grade I listed.

The John Donne Memorial is a bronze bust of John Donne by Nigel Boonham, installed in the garden to the south of St Paul's Cathedral in London, United Kingdom. Donne faces east towards his birthplace on Bread Street. Below the bust is an inscription with the text It was commissioned by the City of London, led by Alderman Hall, and marks the first public memorial to Donne.

St Paul's Cross (alternative spellings – "Powles Crosse") was a preaching cross and open-air pulpit in the grounds of Old St Paul's Cathedral, City of London. It was the most important public pulpit in Tudor and early Stuart England, and many of the most important statements on the political and religious changes brought by the Reformation were made public from here. The pulpit stood in 'the Cross yard', the open space on the north-east side of St. Paul's Churchyard, adjacent to the row of buildings that would become the home of London's publishing and book-selling trade.A monumental column with a golden statue of St Paul stands in this area of the Cathedral precinct since the early 20th century, but it is not on the exact spot where Paul's Cross stood. A stone carved with the words 'Here stood Paul's Cross' marks the actual location of the pulpit as it stood from 1449 until 1635, when it was taken down during Inigo Jones' renovation work.

One New Change is a major office and retail development in the City of London. It comprises 560,000 square feet (52,000 m2) of floor space, including 220,000 square feet (20,000 m2) of retail space and 330,000 square feet (31,000 m2) of office space and is the only large shopping centre in the City of London, the historic nucleus and modern financial centre of London. It cost £500 million to build and was completed in October 2010.The complex is located on New Change, a road linking Cannon Street with Cheapside, in one of the areas of the City historically associated with retailing and markets. It is close to St Paul's Cathedral. The nearest London Underground stations are St Paul's and Mansion House.

St Paul's is a London Underground station located in the City of London financial district. The station, which takes its name from the nearby St Paul's Cathedral, is on the Central line, between Bank and Chancery Lane stations, and is in fare zone 1. It should not be confused with City Thameslink railway station which opened in 1990 with the name St. Paul's Thameslink, but is some distance from the Underground station. That station was subsequently renamed City Thameslink to avoid confusion for the emergency services, but for some years afterwards many maps and guidebooks in circulation continued to carry the earlier name.

Cordwainers' Hall was the livery hall of the Worshipful Company of Cordwainers, the City of London livery company for Cordwainers (workers in fine leather) from 1316 until its destruction in 1941.The hall stood in St. Paul's Churchyard, facing Cannon Street. Five successive halls were built on the site, the last three were rebuilt in 1670, 1788, and 1910. A plaque marks the site. The 1788 hall was built by Sylvanus Hall, with the front of the hall decorated in stone by Robert Adam. The front of the hall featured a stone medallion of a "country girl spinning with a distaff...and of the thread of cordwainers or shoemakers." The arms of the Cordwainers company was in the pediments of the building.The hall was destroyed during World War II in the London blitz, on 10–11 May 1941.
