The Montjuïc Funicular (Catalan: Funicular de Montjuïc; Spanish: Funicular de Montjuic) is a funicular railway in the city of Barcelona, in Catalonia, Spain. The railway mainly runs through a tunnel and connects the Barcelona Metro's Paral·lel station (with connections to lines L2 and L3) with the hill of Montjuïc and the various sporting facilities and other attractions there.The upper station of the funicular is adjacent to the lower station of the Montjuïc Cable Car, a gondola lift that continues uphill to a terminal near the Montjuïc Castle at the summit of the hill. There is also a bus stop serviced by the 150 line which runs from the upper station of the funicular to the castle's summit and is part of the same fare network as the funicular, providing a free transfer to the castle as an alternative to the cable car.

The Teatre Victòria ("Victoria Theatre") is a theatre in Barcelona, Spain. The theatre was designed by Andreu Audet i Puig and was inaugurated on 22 April 1905 as the "Pabellòn Sorianno theatre". In 1916, the theatre was sold to John Fradera, who renamed it to "Teatro Victoria". The company changed shareholders until 1954, when the last owners, Bergada, Bosch and Tolosa, sold them all to the Barcelona industrialist, Jaime Balaguer Sarriera whom they met on an advertising campaign. In 1980, Jaime Balaguer retired and his sons, Jordi and Ricardo Balaguer took over the programming. In 1986, with a 20-year rental agreement, the company Tres per Tres was founded, formed by Tricicle, Dagoll Dagom and Anexa, the company assumed the management and programming of the theatre and remodeled and modernized it in 1992 with the architectural project of Manuel Bosch, Fernando Domínguez and Montserrat Nogués. On 22 January 2002, Tres per Tres purchased the theatre. In June 2019, it was purchased by the illusionist El Mago Pop.

Paral·lel is a Barcelona metro station, located under Avinguda del Paral·lel, between the streets of Ronda de Sant Pau and Carrer Nou de la Rambla. It is served by L3, is the southern terminus of L2, and also the lower terminal of the Funicular de Montjuïc.The station has two levels. The platforms for lines L2 and L3 are situated side by side at the lower level, with each line having a pair of side platforms. A direct connection is provided between the platforms for Zona Universitària (L3) and Badalona – Pompeu Fabra (L2). The funicular terminus is at the upper level, with side platforms on either side of the single terminal track. Transfers between the funicular and lines L2 and L3 are inside the ticket barriers of the station, and from a fare perspective the funicular is treated as another line of the metro.The station opened in 1970 with the extension of line L3 from Drassanes. When the line was extended to Zona Universitària, it was initially operated in two sections, with the overhead electrified L3 towards Catalunya and the third rail electrified L3b towards Zona Universitària. The L3 trains terminated in the current L3 platforms, whilst the L3b trains used those now used by L2. The two sections were unified, with L3b converted to overhead electrification, in June 1982, and the L3b platforms were used for train storage. In 1996, line L2 was extended from Sant Antoni, reusing the erstwhile L3b platforms as the L2's terminus.Future plans are for L2 to be diverted at Sant Antoni, via an interchange with L3 at Poble Sec, to Barcelona Airport. This diversion will render the section of L2 from Sant Antoni to Paral·lel, and the L2 terminal tracks at Paral·lel, redundant.

The Barcelona International Centre of Photography (El Centre Internacional de Fotografia Barcelona, in Catalan language, CIFB) was a singular initiative in the photographic culture of Spain in the second half of the 1970s, becoming a pioneering institution in the formation, study, exhibition, distribution and production of the photographic image. The professional career of its initiator, Albert Guspi (1943-1985), an important innovator and central figure within the new photographic scene of the seventies, culminated in the creation of the CIFB. Despite its brief five-year existence, the CIFB became a reference in the reformation of photographic culture during the Spanish transition to democracy.

El Raval (Catalan pronunciation: [əl rəˈβal]) is a neighborhood in the Ciutat Vella district of Barcelona, the capital city of Catalonia. The neighborhood, especially the part closest to the old port, was formerly (informally) known as Barri Xinès or Barrio Chino, meaning "Chinatown". El Raval is one of the two historical neighborhoods that border La Rambla, the other being the Barri Gòtic; it contains some 50,000 people. An area historically infamous for its nightlife and cabarets, as well as prostitution and crime, El Raval has changed significantly in recent years and due to its central location has become a minor attraction of Barcelona. It currently has a very diverse immigrant community (47.4% of its population was born abroad, ranging from all South America, Pakistanis and Filipinos, to a more recent Eastern European community, especially from Romania). It is home to many bars, restaurants, and night spots.

Madame Petit was the most luxurious and probably the most famous brothel in the city of Barcelona. Its origins date back to the 1888 Barcelona Universal Exposition and it was at its peak around the time of World War I until the Spanish Civil War. It was located in the historic Barrio Chino area of Barcelona, at the entrance of Carrer Arc del Teatre, specifically at number 6.In the same street, Carrer Arc del Teatre, in the section to the corner of the Carrer Migdia (now Avinguda de les Drassanes), there were several brothels. The area was well known for it brothels and referred to as de quatre cantons.

Plaça de Jean Genet is a small, triangle-shaped square in Barcelona (the capital of Catalonia in Spain). It's located in the southern side of El Raval, by the port and Avinguda de les Drassanes and the Catalan Gothic buildings of the Royal Shipyard, in the district of Ciutat Vella. Its main feature is the functionalist high-rise which hosts the local Official School of Languages. It is named after French author Jean Genet who resided in the city for a time and whose novel The Thief's Journal takes place in the poverty-stricken alleys of Raval. Essayist Lluís Permanyer proposed the name in 1997.

The Library of Catalonia (Catalan: Biblioteca de Catalunya, IPA: [biβli.uˈtɛkə ðə kətəˈluɲə]) is the Catalan national library, located in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. The primary mission of the Library of Catalonia is to collect, preserve, and spread Catalan bibliographic production and that related to the Catalan linguistic area, to look after its conservation, and to spread its bibliographic heritage while maintaining the status of a center for research and consultation.The Library occupies 8,820 m² and has nearly about four million items. It is a special member of the Consortium of European Research Libraries (CERL).

The Liceu bombing attack, in which an anarchist threw two bombs from the balcony of Barcelona's Liceu opera house, killed 20 people on November 7, 1893. The bombing was in response to the 1893 execution of Paulí Pallàs following his assassination attempt on Catalonia Captain General Arsenio Martínez Campos. Santiago Salvador, Pallàs's friend, was arrested in January 1894. In reaction to the bombing, Valeriano Weyler was installed with the mandate of hunting anarchists and declared martial law. Hundreds of laborers were arrested and several confessed to the Liceu bombing after being tortured. Even after Salvador's arrest, laborers remained imprisoned and six were executed.

The Gran Teatre del Liceu (Catalan pronunciation: [ˈɡɾan teˈatɾə ðəl liˈsɛw], English: Great Theatre of the Lyceum), or Liceu in Catalan, is an opera house on La Rambla in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. The Liceu opened on 4 April 1847. The adjacent Liceu metro station is named after the theatre.

Ciutat Vella (Catalan pronunciation: [siwˈtad ˈbeʎə], meaning in English "Old City") is a district of Barcelona, numbered District 1. The name means "old city" in Catalan and refers to the oldest neighborhoods in the city of Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. Ciutat Vella is nestled between the Mediterranean Sea and the neighborhood called l'Eixample ("the Extension"). Edifici Colón (also Torre Maritima) is an office skyscraper in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. It has 28 floors and stands at a height of 110 metres (120 yd). It is located in the district of Ciutat Vella, Avinguda de les Drassanes. Built in 1970, it was the first skyscraper above 100 metres built in Barcelona.
