The Arboretum of South Barrington

Poplar Creek Music Theater was a concert venue located in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. The amphitheatre opened in 1980 and closed in 1994. It hosted a variety of popular musical acts during its 15-season existence. It consisted of a covered pavilion and grass seating area, and had a capacity of 25,202 people: 7,202 reserved seats and 18,000 lawn seats. Attendance began to dwindle in the late 1980s, and Poplar Creek faced competition from the opening of the World Music Theater (now Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre) in Tinley Park in 1990. Sears acquired the property in 1989 and allowed Poplar Creek to remain in operation until 1994 and demolition began in July 1995.In 2006, the Sears Centre (as of 2020 the Now Arena) opened in Hoffman Estates, near the former location of Poplar Creek. A new outdoor theater located next to the Sears Centre, and about one mile away from Poplar Creek's former location, had been approved for construction. With approximately 10,000 seats, this new venue would only be a fraction of Poplar Creek's capacity. However, the great recession and its aftermath have left the project in an indefinite state of uncertainty.

The Now Arena (originally known as the Sears Centre, Sears Centre Arena and stylized as NOW Arena) is a multi-purpose arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, a northwest suburb 25 miles (40 km) from Chicago, near land which formerly contained the Poplar Creek Music Theater. Since 2016, the arena has been home to the Windy City Bulls, the Chicago Bulls' affiliate in the NBA G League.

Barrington Township was named after the town of Great Barrington, Massachusetts.

Barrington United Methodist Church, Barrington, Illinois, is an historic United Methodist Church congregation in the Northern Illinois Conference. It is one of the oldest churches in the conference, tracing its roots back to the frontier circuit riders and one of the first Methodist classes in the Fox River valley area. The church is currently one of the largest churches in the Northern Illinois conference and the second largest in the Elgin District. The church's current building along with its large steeple is a familiar landmark rising above the horse farms and mansions in the surrounding hills and prairies known colloquially as the Barrington Area.

Hoffman Estates is a village in Illinois, United States. The village is located in Cook County. It is a suburb of Chicago. Per the 2020 census, the population was 52,530.The village now serves as the headquarters for Sears and one of the American headquarters for Mori Seiki. Now Arena, home of the Windy City Bulls of the NBA G League is part of the village. Between 2006 and 2009, the village hosted the Heartland International Tattoo, one of the largest music and dance festivals of its kind in the Midwest. The village once had a small section in Kane County that was removed from the village in 2022, making it entirely within Cook County.

It is part of Elgin Area School District U46, which also includes Bartlett High School, Larkin High School, South Elgin High School, and Elgin High School. Hanover Township is one of 29 townships in Cook County, Illinois, USA and is located at the end of the county's panhandle. As of the 2010 census, its population was 99,538. Hanover Township was established on April 2, 1850. The first reported population of the Township was 672. The Township gets its name from the "Kingdom of Hanover in Western Germany," which is where a majority of the Township's first residents originated from.The primary governmental concerns were collecting taxes, control and collection of stray animals and maintenance of the roads. "Poor relief" was minimal in the early days of the Township and the Clerk was in control of organizing the machinery for elections, similar to the job they do today.Today, Hanover Township has a population of over 100,000 residents. Most of Streamwood lies within the boundaries of the Township, along with portions of Bartlett, Elgin, Hanover Park, Hoffman Estates, Schaumburg and unincorporated Cook County. Township offices are set throughout the Township with the Township Town Hall at 250 S. IL Route 59 in Bartlett, the Senior Center at 240 S. IL Route 59 in Bartlett, the Astor Avenue Community Center at 7431 Astor Avenue in Hanover Park, the Community Resource Center at 1535 Burgundy Place in Streamwood and the Izaak Walton Center at 899 Jay Street in Elgin.
