Akuna Bay

Akuna Bay sits in the Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park and takes its name from the bay on Coal and Candle Creek. It can be accessed by a marina on the bay or by Liberator General San Martin Drive.

The Sydney Sandstone Ridgetop Woodland, also known as Coastal Sandstone Ridgetop Woodland and Hornsby Enriched Sandstone Exposed Woodland, is a shrubby woodland and mallee community situated in northern parts of Sydney, Australia, where it is found predominantly on ridgetops and slopes of the Hornsby Plateau, Woronora Plateau and the lower Blue Mountains area. It is an area of high biodiversity, existing on poor sandstone soils, with regular wildfires, and moderate rainfall.

Elvina Bay is within the Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park, on the western shores of Pittwater, beside Lovett Bay. Scotland Island, Church Point and Morning Bay. Clareville is on the opposite (eastern) Pittwater shore. Bushwalkers can access Elvina Bay and neighbouring Lovett Bay via the Elvina Bay Circuit. The circuit includes access to the bottom and top of Lovett Falls. The suburb is road-inaccessible otherwise.

It is 36 kilometres north of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of Northern Beaches Council. Lovett Bay is in Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park, on the western shores of Pittwater, beside Elvina Bay. Scotland Island, Church Point and Morning Bay are nearby. Although on the mainland, access to Lovett Bay is by water, with no road access. Residents use their own boats to commute to Church Point or use the public ferry service. Bushwalkers can access the southern shore of Lovett Bay and neighbouring Elvina Bay via: Elvina Bay Circuit. The circuit includes access to the bottom and top of Elvina Waterfalls. Towlers Bay Circuit. This circuit descends from Birnie Lookout to Lovett Bay.

SJIS is the only Japanese international school in the world to have an English-language division.The international classes follow the New South Wales curriculum, while there is also a Japanese division following the Japanese curriculum. Tetsuo Mizukami (水上 徹男 Mizukami Tetsuo), author of The Sojourner Community: Japanese Migration and Residency in Australia, wrote in 2007 that the international classes are "so popular" that Australian parents have requested that the SJIS introduce them at the high school level.
