The Kahiki Supper Club was a Polynesian-themed restaurant in Columbus, Ohio. The supper club was one of the largest tiki-themed restaurants in the United States, and for a time, the only one in Ohio. It operated at its Eastmoor location on Broad Street beginning in 1961, at the height of tiki culture's popularity. The Kahiki was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1997, but closed and was demolished in 2000. It was described as an exceptionally important example of a themed restaurant and the most elaborate tiki restaurant ever built. After the restaurant's closure in 2000, portions of the interior and service ware were salvaged. A social organization known as the Fraternal Order of Moai was formed in 2005, in part to record the restaurant's history and preserve its artifacts. An offshoot of the operation, Kahiki Foods, manufactures frozen meals, and is based in the nearby suburb of Gahanna.

Norton Field was an aviation landing field, located in Columbus, Ohio, that operated from 1923 until the early 1950s. It was the first airport established in Central Ohio, and was named for World War I pilot and star Ohio State University athlete Fred William Norton, a Columbus native. Lieutenant Norton, of the 27th Pursuit Squadron, died of injuries suffered when his Nieuport 28 was shot down in northern France by anti-aircraft artillery in July 1918. Although he managed to land safely behind Allied lines, it took two days to transport him to medical care during which time he contracted pneumonia, dying on 23 July 1918.

Whitehall-Yearling High School is a public high school located in Whitehall, Ohio, United States.

Whitehall is a city in the U.S state of Ohio, located 6.6 miles (10.6 km) east of the state capital of Columbus in Franklin County. Whitehall had a population of 20,127 in the 2020 census. Founded in 1947, Whitehall is a growing suburb of Columbus. Per the U.S. Census Bureau, Whitehall's population is culturally and racially diverse, with over 50% of the population identifying as black, African American, Hispanic or Latino, with over 20% speaking a language other than English at home. The median home value is $84,800 and the median household income is $41,022. Whitehall is home to the headquarters of major companies such as Heartland Bank, The Wasserstrom Company and Priority Designs. The current mayor of Whitehall is Michael Bivens.

Eastmoor Academy is a public high school located on the east side of Columbus, Ohio. It is part of Columbus City Schools. Eastmoor Academy was formerly known as Eastmoor High School. The school's colors are red, white and blue, and its mascot is a warrior. Eastmoor is the high school alma mater of two-time Heisman Trophy winner Archie Griffin, after whom their football stadium is now named; it is also the alma mater of former Lynyrd Skynyrd drummer Artimus Pyle (class of 1966), and jazz musician Michael Feinstein. Gary Ballen aka today as the Human Jukebox" was a 1970 graduate of EHS. Gary has lived an exceptional life in the music entertainment industry including touring with many well-known performers, including Straight Outta Compton Gansta Rap group, "NWA". Robert "Tico Bob" Street (Class of 1969), became a Columbus radio personality in the 1970s now residing in Arizona, Robert is a successful transportation business executive and founder of the Robert Street Band, performing throughout the Southwestern United States. Internationally published and cited author David M Baker, GG was a 1971 graduate of Eastmoor High School. Another Eastmoor High School alumni was birding artist Charles "Buddy" Gambill (1968). Detroit Lyons Linebacker, Paul Naumoff is a graduate (1964), as was Doug Van Horn, Offensive Lineman for the Detroit Lyons and later the New York Giants. Ronald G. Shafer, a member of the first graduating class in 1957, was a reporter and Washington political features editor at the Wall Street Journal over a 38-year-career. Shafer still writes for the Washington Post. In the 1960s, frequent performers at Eastmoor included Mexican virtuoso solo trumpeter, Rafael Méndez, and the incomparable American Jazz trumpeter, Doc Severinsen. During the eighties, the school was a frequent stop for high-profile speakers in the civil rights movement such as Coretta Scott King. The movie Speak starring Kristen Stewart was filmed at Eastmoor in 2003. In 2008, the Eastmoor football team went 13–2, eventually losing in the Division 3 State Championship Game to the Aurora Greenmen, 21–10.

Columbus Africentric Early College is a public high school in Columbus, Ohio. It is a part of Columbus City Schools. The school's previous name, Mohawk Middle School, was changed in the late 1990s, to allow the school not only separation from its original status, but also to expand it into a large school. Africentric was moved into a newly built building near the John Glenn Airport in 2016. The first organization that was started at Africentric was the Nubian Step Team. It was founded February 8, 1999 by Mama Eddings of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority, Baba Hatton of Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity, and Baba Owens of Phi Beta Sigma fraternity.

John Glenn Columbus International Airport (IATA: CMH, ICAO: KCMH, FAA LID: CMH) is an international airport located 6 miles (9.7 km; 5.2 nmi) east of downtown Columbus, Ohio. Formerly known as Port Columbus International Airport, it is managed by the Columbus Regional Airport Authority, which also oversees operations at Rickenbacker International Airport and Bolton Field. The airport code "CMH" stands for "Columbus Municipal Hangar," the original name of the airport.John Glenn Columbus International Airport is primarily a passenger airport. It provides 148 non-stop flights to 31 airports via nine airlines daily.On May 25, 2016, the Ohio General Assembly passed a bill to rename the airport from Port Columbus International Airport to its current name, in honor of astronaut and four-term U.S. senator John Glenn. The name change was unanimously approved by the airport's nine-member board on May 24, 2016. Ohio Governor John Kasich signed the bill into law on June 14, 2016, with the name change becoming official 90 days later. On June 28, 2016, a celebration of the renaming was held and new signage bearing the airport's new name was unveiled.

The Ohio History of Flight Museum was an aviation museum located at the Port Columbus International Airport in Columbus, Ohio.

The Old Port Columbus Terminal, also known as the Old Port Columbus Airport Control Tower, is a historic building in Columbus, Ohio. It was built in 1929 as one of the first airport facilities in the United States. It was replaced by the current facilities in 1958. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. It is located on the southeast corner of John Glenn Columbus International Airport, formerly known as Port Columbus International Airport.

The 1964 PGA Championship was the 46th PGA Championship, played July 16–19 at Columbus Country Club in Columbus, Ohio. Bobby Nichols won his only major title, three strokes ahead of runners-up Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer. Nichols led wire-to-wire after a first round 64 in the hometown of Nicklaus, who shot a 64 in the final round to gain his third runner-up finish in majors in 1964.Ben Hogan, age 51, competed at the PGA Championship for the first time since 1960. Tied for fifth place after a third round 68, he finished tied for ninth for his penultimate top ten in a major. His final top ten came at the 1967 Masters. Nichols' winning score of 271 was the lowest to date at the PGA Championship, the seventh as a 72-hole stroke play championship. It stood as the record for thirty years, until Nick Price's 269 in 1994. Nichols' win marked the third time that all of the professional major championships were won by Americans in a calendar year. The British Open was played the previous week in St Andrews, Scotland, one of five times in the 1960s that these two majors were played in consecutive weeks in July. The PGA Championship moved permanently to August in 1969 (except 1971, when it was played in late February).

Columbus Country Club is a country club located in Columbus, Ohio. The golf course at the club hosted the PGA Championship in 1964, which Bobby Nichols won.
