Val d'Hérens is an alpine valley in the Valais canton of Switzerland. It was formed by the Hérens glacier, which retreated at the end of the last ice age. It is now the valley of the Borgne river, a tributary of the Rhone (confluence above Sion) It extends from the Rhône valley to a number of high mountains - Dent Blanche, Dent d'Hérens, Mont Collon, Mont Blanc de Cheilon. It is a popular start point for mountain expeditions. The area has two mountain peaks over 4,000 metres in altitude: la Dent Blanche ("white tooth") at 4,357 m, and la Dent d'Hérens ("Hérens tooth") at 4,171m. Other noteworthy peaks along the valley include: Grand Cornier, Mt Collon, Pigne d'Arolla, Vouasson, Rosablanche, and Mt Blanc de Cheillon. The Herens breed of cattle is named after the valley. The valley includes the following villages: Les Haudères Grande Dixence La Sage Evolène Euseigne Saint-Martin Hérémence Thyon Les Collons Mase Vernamiège Vex NaxAbove Les Haudères, the valley separates into the valley of the Borgne de Ferpècle to the east and the Borgne d'Arolla to the west.

It belongs to the municipality of Hérémence Euseigne lies at a height of 979 metres above sea level, on the main road connecting Evolène from Sion. The village is well known for the fairy chimney rock formations named Pyramides d'Euseigne.

Les Masses is a small ski resort town in Val d'Herens. Les Masses is part of the municipality of Hérémence, Valais, Switzerland. It is in the Four Valleys ski area, in the easternmost part, at 1500 metres altitude. Les Masses was formerly an area with a few barns and shooting sheds. It is still a very quiet place. The houses are nearly all wooden chalets, with only a few apartment buildings no higher than three or four floors. Located in the centre of Les Masses is Restaurant Le Bois Sauvage, a modernised restaurant serving modern Swiss and International cuisine, and a little grocery shop. 300 metres from the centre is a new high speed 4 person chairlift Les Masses Express with underground parking for 206 cars, a ticket office, rental agency and bar Le Sapin Bleu which serves light food and drinks during the winter season. There are 2 tennis courts close to the parking garage. Les Masses is part of the "Four Valleys" ski area, which includes the ski resorts of Verbier, Nendaz, Veysonnaz, La Tzoumaz, and Thyon with a total of 410 km marked runs. The ski area is divided into four sectors: Verbier, Nendaz, Veysonnaz, Thyon. Les Masses forms the most eastern village of the 4 Valleys ski area, close to Thyon. A common ski pass allows to tour all the way from Verbier to La Tzoumaz, Nendaz, Veysonnaz, to Les Masses and back. A Printze ski pass allows to tour to Siviez and Nendaz.

Mase (French pronunciation: [maz]) is a former municipality in the district of Hérens in the canton of Valais in Switzerland. On 1 January 2011, the former municipalities of Vernamiège, Nax and Mase merged in the new municipality of Mont-Noble.
