The Beatrix Canal (Dutch: Beatrixkanaal) is an 8.4 km long canal in the southern Netherlands. It was constructed to provide the city of Eindhoven with access to the Wilhelmina Canal. In order to be able to regulate the level of the Gender and Dommel streams, which regularly threatened to flood Eindhoven's inner city, an additional Discharge Canal (Afwateringskanaal), which is not open to navigation, was dug to connect the Beatrix Canal and the Dommel stream. Into this branch, the Gender now discharges. Upon completion, the canal was named in honour of the newborn eldest daughter of the heiress apparent to the Dutch throne, Princess Beatrix.

Eindhoven Airport (IATA: EIN, ICAO: EHEH) is an airport located 7.6 km (4.7 mi) west of Eindhoven, Netherlands. In terms of the number of served passengers it is the second largest airport in the Netherlands, with 6.2 million passengers in 2018 (well behind Schiphol, which serves more than 70 million passengers). The airport is used by both civilian and military traffic.

The European Air Transport Command (EATC) is the command centre that exercises the operational control of the majority of the aerial refueling capabilities and military transport fleets of a consortium of seven European Union (EU) member states. As of January 2015, the combined fleet under the authority of the EATC represents 75% of the European air transport capacity. Located at Eindhoven Airbase in the Netherlands, the command also bears a limited responsibility for exercises, aircrew training and the harmonisation of relevant national air transport regulations.The command was established in 2010 with a view to provide a more efficient management of the participating nations' assets and resources in this field. The EATC is presently not established at the EU level (referred to as the Common Security and Defence Policy, CSDP); it is for instance not a project of the Permanent Structured Cooperation (PESCO) of the CSDP. The EATC and its assets may however contribute in the implementation of the CSDP, when made available as a multinational force in accordance with article 42.3 of the Treaty on European Union (TEU).

The 1996 Belgian Air Force Hercules accident is an aviation accident that occurred on 15 July 1996 at Eindhoven Airport, the Netherlands. The disaster involved a Belgian Lockheed C-130 Hercules aircraft and resulted in the death of 34 passengers. The incident is known as the "Hercules disaster" (Dutch: Herculesramp) in the Netherlands and Belgium.

Heikant is a neighbourhood in the municipality of Veldhoven, in the Dutch province of North Brabant. With a population of over 6700 inhabitants, it is the largest neighbourhood in Veldhoven. Heikant contains a small shopping centre and a church. The Sint-Maartenchurch was built in 1990. Heikant was constructed between 1979 and 1989. The first houses were officially completed on February 21, 1980. A substantial part of the former hamlet Het Heike had to be demolished to make room for the new neighbourhood. Seven farmhouses were demolished in 1985. One of them was the farmhouse Clarissenhoef, which originated from the 14th century. Five farmhouses of the hamlet Het Heike remained and were integrated into the new neighbourhood.

The Hovenring is first of its kind in the world suspended cycle path roundabout in the province of North Brabant in the Netherlands It is situated in between the localities of Eindhoven, Veldhoven, and Meerhoven, which account for its name.

Strijp is a former town in the Dutch province of North Brabant, now a borough of Eindhoven. Strijp was a separate municipality until 1920, when it became part of Eindhoven. The Philips Stadion, home of football team PSV Eindhoven is based in Strijp. The stadium has a capacity of around 35,000. Strijp-S, the repurposed buildings of the former Philips factory complex, is located within Strijp.

Batadorp is a neighbourhood of the Dutch town of Best, just northwest of Eindhoven, where the Czech Bata Shoes company built a factory in 1934 on land that it bought from the municipality.Bata sought expansion abroad, partly to circumvent tariffs, and built factories and entire villages. Bata had operated shops in the Netherlands since 1922, and chose to locate in Best because land and labour were cheaply available. It also had good transport links, being at the junction of the Wilhelmina Canal with the Beatrix Canal and close to a railway. The factory it built there in 1933 was an exact copy of the headquarters in Zlín.At that time, Bata already had 28 shoe shops in the country, and this number grew to 150 in 1961. Many Bata shops had their own shoe repair and pedicure departments. The factory made ladies', men's, children's and sports shoes. So that the employees could live near the factory, Bata built a town of 130 homes, separated from the centre of Best by the canal, along with schools, medical services and a hairdressers'. Bata built other such villages wherever it had factories. Bata promoted order and cleanliness. Thus, the houses in the village have flat roofs, as attics would only encourage people to store clutter. The workers were not allowed to wear clogs, as Bata produced suitable footwear. The emphasis on hygiene can be seen as paternalistic but resulted in a level of welfare that was far ahead of its time. The company also established sports clubs, a theatre, a brass band and a volunteer fire brigade. From the 1960s shoe production was moved to low-wage countries and Batadorp was sold to the municipality of Best. The network of shops - even the factory shop - had closed by 1996. The original buildings of Batadorp are now an industrial heritage site. However, production continues at a reduced level. It now belongs to the Bata Protective division which was created in 1970 and makes speciality shoes. In 2008 about 160 employees produced 900,000 pairs of safety shoes and 1 million pairs of safety socks. The headquarters of the global division is located there.

Veldhoven (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈvɛltˌɦoːvə(n)] (listen)) is a municipality and town on the Gender in the southern Netherlands, just southwest of Eindhoven.

Oerle is a village in the Dutch province of North Brabant. It is located in the municipality of Veldhoven, about 7 km west of Eindhoven. The village was first mentioned in 1249 Oerle, and is a combination of "open forest" and "sand".Oerle was home to 152 people in 1840. Oerle was a separate municipality until 1921, when it became part of Veldhoven.The grist mill Sint Jan is reasonably new wind mill. It was constructed in 1987 from parts of demolished wind mills. The grain which is milled is sold by the miller. In the early 21st century, the village started to grow, and it is planned to grow to about 4,000 people.

Zeelst is a former village in the Dutch province of North Brabant, now a neighbourhood of Veldhoven. Zeelst was a separate municipality until 1921, when it became part of Veldhoven.

De Herdgang is a football training facility in Eindhoven, Netherlands. It serves as the training ground and youth academy of PSV Eindhoven and also accommodates its amateur teams. As of the 2014/2015 season Jong PSV play their home games at this facility.
