Big Branch Marsh National Wildlife Refuge

Southeast Louisiana National Wildlife Refuge Complex is a National Wildlife Refuge complex in the state of Louisiana.

Lacombe School, built in 1913 in Lacombe, Louisiana as a one-story two-room schoolhouse, was listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in 1990. It was then the Lacombe Museum. It is now known as the Bayou Lacombe Museum.It is a "plain" building with a tin hipped roof. It served as the community's only elementary school from 1913 until "well past World War II". Through 1990 the beaded board interior had retained its historic appearance, although some wall surfaces were obscured by museum exhibit boards.It is located on property of the current Lacombe Junior High School, and is linked to that by a covered walkway.The schoolhouse/museum is accessible by a handicapped-access ramp.There exists a different "Lacombe Museum" in Lacombe, Alberta, Canada.

The Francois Cousin House at 28061 Main St., Lacombe, Louisiana that appears to have been built in c.1790. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.It is a one-and-one-half-story French Creole cottage on the west bank of Liberty Bayou. It was expanded at the rear in the late nineteenth or early twentieth century.

Route 190 5 mi (8.0 km) southeast of Mandeville and 3.5 miles northwest of Lacombe.The Big Branch Marsh National Wildlife Refuge lies along the coast of Lake Pontchartrain south of the community between Mandeville and Slidell.

Fontainebleau State Park is located in St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana, on the north shore of Lake Pontchartrain. The park is 2,800 acres (1,100 ha) in size and was once the site of a sugar cane plantation and brickyard operated by Bernard de Marigny and later by his son Armand Marigny. St. Tammany Parish (French: Paroisse de Saint-Tammany) is a parish located in the U.S. state of Louisiana named after Tamanend, the legendary Lenape Chief of Chiefs and the "Patron Saint of America." At the 2020 census, the population was 264,570, making it the fourth-most populous parish in Louisiana. The parish seat is Covington. The parish was founded in 1810.St. Tammany Parish is included in the New Orleans–Metairie metropolitan statistical area. St. Tammany Parish is one of the fastest-growing parishes in the state, along with Livingston and Ascension. The population has quadrupled since 1970, and is expected to double again by 2030, expecting to diversify the population of the parish. The Bertus-Ducatel House, at 1721 Lakeshore Dr. in Mandeville, Louisiana, was built around 1839. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1998.It is French Creole in style. It was built with brick-between-post (briquette entre poteaux) construction, which is rare in the United States outside of New Orleans.It has also been known as Little Flower Villa.

The Dew Drop Social and Benevolent Hall, in Mandeville, Louisiana, was built in 1895. It was home of the 1885-founded mutual assistance/social organization, the "Dew Drop Social and Benevolent No. 2 of Mandeville". it served as a meeting hall and as the venue for dances.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.It is located on the 400 block of Lamarque St. in Mandeville.It was deemed significant "as a major center of social life for African-Americans in the Mandeville area. It is also of significance within southern Louisiana as a rare surviving African-American benevolent association hall. Because all available evidence indicates that the building's heyday as a social center and benevolent association hall ended c.1940, that date is being used to end the period of significance."
