Merrimack Valley Transit, formerly known as Merrimack Valley Regional Transit Authority is a public, non-profit organization in Massachusetts, United States, charged with providing public transportation to an area consisting of the cities and towns of Amesbury, Andover, Boxford, Georgetown, Groveland, Haverhill, Lawrence, Merrimac, Methuen, Newbury, Newburyport, North Andover, Rowley, Salisbury and West Newbury, as well as a seasonal service to the popular nearby summer destination of Hampton Beach, New Hampshire.MEVA provides fixed route bus services and paratransit services within its area, together with services to Lowell. MEVA's buses provide interchange with commuter lines of the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) at Andover Station, Haverhill station, Lawrence station, Lowell station and Newburyport station.MEVA started operation in 1976, having been created under Chapter 161B of the Massachusetts General Laws. Since 1983, operation of the MEVA has been subcontracted to First Transit, a subsidiary of the United Kingdom based FirstGroup.As of March 1, 2022 all local routes are free.

WCCM (1490 kHz) is an AM radio station broadcasting a Spanish CHR format. Licensed to Haverhill, Massachusetts, United States, the station is owned by Costa-Eagle Radio Ventures Limited Partnership, a partnership between Pat Costa and his chief investor, The Eagle-Tribune. Under a local marketing agreement, WCCM is programmed by Costa Media Boston LLC, a similarly-named but separate company controlled by Jose Villafañe. WCCM also operates on two translator stations, W255DA (98.9 FM) in Salem, New Hampshire and W279DH (103.7 FM) in Haverhill.

WXRV (92.5 FM; "The River") is an adult album alternative radio station licensed to Andover, Massachusetts, and based in Haverhill, with a signal covering most of northeast Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire, and audible as far away as Plymouth, Massachusetts, and Portland, Maine.

WHAV-LP (97.9 FM) – branded 97.9 WHAV – is a non-commercial low-power radio station licensed to serve Haverhill, Massachusetts. Owned by Public Media of New England, Inc., WHAV-LP services the immediate Merrimack Valley and considers itself the successor station to the original WHAV (1490 AM), also licensed to Haverhill, and transmits from WHAV's original 1947 transmitter site; however, the original WHAV continues operations to this day as WCCM. Besides a standard analog transmission, WHAV-LP's audio is also carried, in part, by a number of public, educational, and government access (PEG) cable television stations, and is available online.

Bradford station is an MBTA Commuter Rail station in the Bradford neighborhood of Haverhill, Massachusetts, served by the Haverhill Line. The Haverhill Line's layover yard is located adjacent to the station.

St. Michael the Archangel Parish - designated for Polish immigrants in Haverhill, Massachusetts, United States. Founded January 13, 1901. It was one of the Polish-American Roman Catholic parishes in New England in the Archdiocese of Boston.Parish closed on August 29, 1998.

The Haverhill Board of Trade Building is a historic factory building at 16-18 and 38-42 Walnut Street in Haverhill, Massachusetts. The seven story brick building was built in stages between 1906 and 1908 by the Haverhill Board of Trade, a consortium of local businessmen. The purposes of the building was to provide affordable factory space to small business operators, principally in the shoe manufacturing business that dominated Haverhill's economy in the early 20th century. The building also marked an expansion of Haverhill's business and industrial district into a previously residential area. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007. It has been converted to residential use.

Haverhill station is an intercity and regional rail station located in downtown Haverhill, Massachusetts, United States. It is served by Amtrak's Downeaster service and the MBTA Commuter Rail Haverhill/Reading Line; it is the northern terminus of MBTA service on the line. Haverhill is one of two major hubs for MVRTA local bus service; the Washington Square Transit Center is located 1⁄5 mile (0.32 km) east of the rail station. The Boston and Portland Railroad opened to Haverhill in 1840 and was renamed Boston and Maine Railroad (B&M) in 1843. The first station was replaced in 1867. It was modified with a second story in 1904–1906 during a project to eliminate grade crossings. B&M commuter service to Haverhill lasted until 1976; it resumed in 1979 under the control of the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA). The Downeaster began service in 2001.

The Charles H. Hayes Building is a historic former box factory at 14-44 Granite Street, Haverhill, Massachusetts. Built in two phases (1894 and 1911), the building represents the city's industrial growth around the turn of the 20th century. It was built by Charles H. Hayes, whose business empire also included locally important shoe manufacturers, as well as forest lands in four states to supply his operations. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2010.

The Washington Street Shoe District of Haverhill, Massachusetts encompasses a two block section of Washington and Wingate Streets, between Railroad Square and Essex Street, in which there were more than 60 shoe factories established in the late 19th century. Buildings in the district are predominantly brick with Italianate styling, and are of a modest scale (three or four stories), unlike later shoe factories which resembled textile mills in size and style. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.

Ward Hill is a neighborhood in Haverhill, Essex County, Massachusetts. Its coordinates are at 42°45′N 71°06′W. It is bordered on the northeast and west by the Merrimack River. Main roads include the Massachusetts Route 125 called South Main Street where it passes through, the Connector road to I-495 exit 48 and I-495 where it is called the Blue Star Memorial Highway. It also has a hill called Ward Hill and an island called Kimball Island on the river bank on the west. Other places in this neighborhood include the Whittier Rehabilitation Hospital.
