La Academia de Esperanza (LADE) is a charter school in Albuquerque, New Mexico. LADE has two campuses: one at the Desert Hills Treatment Center and the other campus in Albuquerque's South Valley at the intersection of Coors and Old Coors. La Academia de Esperanza has a charter through Albuquerque Public Schools. La Academia de Esperanza was founded in 2003 to serve "the growing population of 'at risk' youth" in Albuquerque.According to the school's website: "La Academia de Esperanza provides quality academic and vocational learning for students ages 11 to 18 in preparation for their roles as socially responsible individuals, within a community-based, ethnically and culturally-sensitive educational environment."

The Old Armijo School, also known as the Ranchos de Atrisco School, is a historic school building in the South Valley area of Albuquerque, New Mexico. It is notable as one of the only surviving school buildings attributed to Atanasio Montoya, a noted educator who reformed and modernized the Bernalillo County school system in the early 20th century. The school was added to the New Mexico State Register of Cultural Properties and the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

South Valley is a census-designated place (CDP) and town in Bernalillo County, New Mexico, United States. The population was 40,976 at the 2010 Census. It is part of the Albuquerque Metropolitan Statistical Area. The U.S. Postal Service uses "Albuquerque" for all South Valley addresses (ZIP code 87105).

The Hilltop Lodge was a historic motel on Central Avenue (former U.S. Route 66) in Albuquerque, New Mexico, which was notable as one of the best-preserved Route 66 motels remaining in the city. It began as a small three-unit lodging in 1941, and was expanded to 12 units by owner E. H. Stopple in 1946. The property was added to the New Mexico State Register of Cultural Properties in 1997 and the National Register of Historic Places in 1998. The motel was demolished in 2003 after being shut down by the city as a nuisance property. The remainder of the site, including the neon sign, was cleared around 2017 for a realignment of Yucca Drive due to the Albuquerque Rapid Transit project. The motel was a one-story, L-shaped building with 12 rooms. The office and manager's residence were at the front of the building, which had a decorative stepped parapet and a small porch.

The El Campo Tourist Courts is a historic motel on Central Avenue (former U.S. Route 66) in Albuquerque, New Mexico, which is notable as one of the best-preserved prewar Route 66 motels remaining in the city. It was built in 1939 by M. H. McGraw and was one of the westernmost Albuquerque motels, located about 3 miles (4.8 km) west of the city center. The motel was later converted into an apartment complex. The property was added to the New Mexico State Register of Cultural Properties in 1993 and the National Register of Historic Places in 1994.The motel consists of two one-story buildings, one rectangular and one L-shaped, with a total of 11 rooms. Both buildings step down towards the rear of the property due to sloping terrain. The rectangular building has an office and store space at the front which is oriented at 45 degrees to the rest of the building, facing the entrance. A two-story addition was built on the front of the L-shaped building in the 1990s. The motel's architecture is southwestern vernacular, with Pueblo Revival and Spanish Colonial Revival elements.

The Rio Grande Valley State Park (RGVSP) is a park located in Albuquerque, New Mexico, established in 1983. Although officially named "State Park" this open space is actually managed by various local, state and federal agencies, as well as other organizations.

KNML (610 AM "The Sports Animal") is a sports talk formatted radio station owned by Cumulus Media and licensed to Albuquerque, New Mexico. Its studios are located in Downtown Albuquerque and it utilizes daytime and nighttime transmitters that are located within yards of each other in the southwest quadrant of the city, between the Rio Grande and the Albuquerque International Sunport.

Tingley Beach is a recreational area in Albuquerque, New Mexico, located south of Central Avenue on the east side of the Rio Grande. It is part of the Albuquerque Biological Park complex.

The ABQ BioPark (or Albuquerque Biological Park) is an environmental museum located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It contains four separate facilities: ABQ BioPark Aquarium - An aquarium with a 285,000-US-gallon (1,080,000 L) ocean tank containing Gulf of Mexico saltwater species from estuaries, surf zone, shallow waters, coral reefs, and ocean, as well as many other exhibits. ABQ BioPark Botanic Garden - A 36-acre (15 ha) botanic garden that includes a 10,000-square-foot (930 m2) glass conservatory housing plants from desert and Mediterranean climate zones. ABQ BioPark Zoo - A 64-acre (26 ha) zoo, with 2.5 miles (4.0 km) of paths and more than 250 species of exotic and native animals. Asian elephants, reticulated giraffes, African lions, Malayan tigers, snow leopards, polar bears, hippos, gorillas, chimpanzees, Hartmann's mountain zebras, along with more unusual animals such as spotted hyenas, southern white rhinos, Tasmanian devils, wombats and African wild dogs. There is a variety of birds, from storks and eagles to roadrunners. Tingley Beach - fishing lake, model boating lake, picnic areas, narrow gauge railroad, and paths.The ABQ BioPark is an accredited member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA).City records indicate more than 1,100 animals are in the BioPark's care during the fiscal year (as of December 2016).The ABQ BioPark also operates a 36" narrow gauge railroad that connects these facilities. Trains are not running at this time due to COVID-19. The Albuquerque Biopark has been without its train for almost two years, however there is a new plan in mind which includes a new electric tram speed that will take visitors between the zoo, botanical gardens and aquarium. The BioPark train, a popular part of the BioPark experience, has been gone for almost two years. The new electric tram will transport about 60 people from the zoo to the aquarium in a few minutes. The electric tram is set to stay on track, starting from the zoo, to Tingley beach, then to the botanical gardens.

ABQ BioPark Zoo, located in Albuquerque, New Mexico, is a facility of the Albuquerque Biological Park. Founded in 1927, the 64-acre (26 ha) zoo was originally known as the Rio Grande Zoo. Sections of the zoo include an Africa exhibit area, an Australia exhibit area, the "Cat Walk" and herpetology area. An endangered species carousel was added in 2016. A narrow-gauge railroad connects the zoo to the other facilities of the Albuquerque Biological Park. Walking distance through the zoo is 2.27 miles (3.65 km). The Albuquerque Biological Park is an accredited member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA).
