Olathe North High School is a public high school located in Olathe, Kansas, United States, serving students in grades 9-12. The school is one of five high schools in the Olathe USD 233 school district. The school colors are red and royal blue and the mascot is the Eagle.Olathe North is a member of the Kansas State High School Activities Association and offers a variety of sports programs. Athletic teams compete in the 6A division and are known as the "Eagles". Extracurricular activities are also offered in the form of performing arts, school publications, and clubs.

The Museum of Deaf History, Arts and Culture is a museum dedicated to the unique culture of Deaf and hard of hearing people in the United States. The museum opened in 2001 in Olathe, Kansas, across the street from the Kansas School for the Deaf.

The Kansas School For the Deaf, is a K-12 school, located in downtown Olathe, Kansas. In 1866, it became the first school for the deaf established in the state of Kansas, and today it remains the largest. Originally named the "Asylum for the Deaf and Dumb", the name has been changed several times to conform to prevailing sensibilities about deafness. Kansas City Center covers approximately 192,000 square miles of the Midwestern United States, Southern United States, and the Western United States, including parts of Kansas, Oklahoma, Illinois, Arkansas, Nebraska, Iowa, Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, and Missouri.Kansas City Center lies adjacent to seven Air Route Traffic Control Centers, including Minneapolis Air Route Traffic Control Center, Chicago Air Route Traffic Control Center, Indianapolis Air Route Traffic Control Center, Memphis Air Route Traffic Control Center, Fort Worth Air Route Traffic Control Center, Denver Air Route Traffic Control Center, and Albuquerque Air Route Traffic Control Center. ZKC overlies or abuts many approach control facilities (including Kansas City, Oklahoma City, St. Louis, Tulsa, Springfield, MO, and Wichita).

The Albert Ott House is a historic house in Olathe, Kansas, U.S.. It was built in 1894 for Albert Ott, the president of the Olathe State Bank, and his wife Helena Hyer, whose brother founded the Hyer Boot Company. It was designed in the Queen Anne architectural style. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since April 1, 1998.

It remained in the Pickering family until 1960. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since December 1, 1980.

The Martin Van Buren Parker House is a historic house in Olathe, Kansas, U.S.. It was built in 1869 for Martin Van Buren Parker, a lawyer, his wife Emma, and their five children. Emma's brother was John St. John, who went on to serve as the 8th Governor of Kansas from 1879 to 1883. It remained in the Parker family until 1960, and it was restored by the new owners in the 1980s. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since December 20, 1988.

Olathe South's official colors are blue and gold, and the official mascot is the Falcon. The average annual enrollment at Olathe South is approximately 2,100 students.Olathe South High School was established in 1981 in order to help educate the rapidly increasing population of Olathe. In 2009, construction began on remodeling the school in order to accommodate ninth graders for the first time.Olathe South is a member of the Kansas State High School Activities Association and offers a variety of sports programs. The Great Mall of the Great Plains was a shopping mall located in Olathe, Kansas, United States. It was the largest outlet mall in the state of Kansas, and boasted over 150 stores and 10 anchors, laid out in a half-mile racetrack pattern. Amenities included indoor glow-in-the-dark miniature golf course, a food court, a Game Zone arcade, and a Dickinson Theatres movie theater with sixteen screens. Great Mall of the Great Plains was owned & managed by Glimcher Properties Trust until January 2009. The mall closed on September 18, 2015, although Burlington Coat Factory remained open. Demolition on the mall began on July 11, 2016, and was finished in January 2017. While developers announced in January 2018 that a redevelopment called Mentum would replace the old mall, this never happened. In October 2021, Olathe-based company Garmin Ltd. indicated that it acquired the property, likely to expand its company's headquarters. Burlington Coat Factory closed at the end of January 2023, leaving the mall without any businesses.
