Hixville Village Historic District

Copicut Woods is a nature reserve and forest located in Fall River, Massachusetts. The property was acquired by The Trustees of Reservations in 2002. It is a component of the 13,600 acre Southeastern Massachusetts Bioreserve.

Westport (Massachusett: Acoaxet) is a town in Bristol County, Massachusetts, United States. The population was 16,339 at the 2020 census.The village of North Westport lies in the town. Other named areas of the town are "Westport Point," which has a dock on the Westport River where Main Road meets the river; "Central Village" with town offices, retail stores and businesses; "Head of Westport" at the head of the east branch of the river; and the area referred to either as "Acoaxet" or "Westport Harbor," which is between the west branch of the river and Rhode Island. This area is cut off from the rest of Massachusetts by water and Rhode Island. Westport is a part of the South Coast region of Massachusetts which encompasses the cities and towns that surround Buzzards Bay (excluding the Elizabeth Islands, Bourne and Falmouth), Mount Hope Bay and the Sakonnet River.

Lincoln Park was a park opened in 1894 by the Union Street Railway Company of New Bedford, Massachusetts, located in North Dartmouth, Massachusetts on the border of Westport, Massachusetts on U.S. Highway 6. Lincoln Park closed in 1987 and remained abandoned and vacant until the Comet roller coaster was torn down on July 11, 2012.

The Comet was a twister-layout wooden roller coaster that operated in the now defunct Lincoln Park in Massachusetts. It operated from 1946 until 1987.

Southern New England School of Law (SNESL) was a non-profit law school located in North Dartmouth, Massachusetts that operated from 1981 to 2010. At its closure, its assets were donated to the University of Massachusetts system to become the basis for the University of Massachusetts School of Law.

The University of Massachusetts School of Law (UMass Law) is a public law school in Dartmouth, Massachusetts. The only public law school in Massachusetts, it is the successor to Southern New England School of Law, a private law school that donated its campus and its assets to the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. It is accredited by the American Bar Association and part of the University of Massachusetts system.

The Dartmouth Mall is a one-level shopping mall located off US 6 and Faunce Corner Road in North Dartmouth, Massachusetts, in the United States. Currently anchoring the mall are Aldi, Burlington, JCPenney, and Macy's. The mall also features a food court and movie theater. It is managed by the Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust.

The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth (UMass Dartmouth or UMassD) is a public research university in Dartmouth, Massachusetts. It is the southernmost campus of the University of Massachusetts system. Formerly Southeastern Massachusetts University (known locally as SMU), it was merged into the University of Massachusetts system in 1991.The campus has an overall student body of 8,513 students (school year 2019–2020), including 6,841 undergraduates and 1,672 graduate/law students. As of the 2019–2020 academic year, UMass Dartmouth had 402 full-time faculty on staff. The Dartmouth campus also includes the University of Massachusetts School of Law. UMass Dartmouth is classified among "R2: Doctoral Universities – High research activity".

North Westport is a census-designated place (CDP) in the town of Westport in Bristol County, Massachusetts, United States. The population was 4,571 at the 2010 census.

Northeast Airlines Flight 285 was a scheduled domestic passenger flight from Boston's Logan International Airport to New York's LaGuardia Airport with stops in Hyannis, Nantucket, Martha's Vineyard, and New Bedford that crashed on September 15, 1957, while trying to land at New Bedford. Seven passengers and two crew members were killed in the crash and three passengers later died from injuries. It was Northeast's second fatal crash of the year (the first was Northeast Airlines Flight 823) and was followed by another deadly crash the following year.

Smith Mills is a census-designated place (CDP) in the town of Dartmouth in Bristol County, Massachusetts, United States. The population was 4,760 at the 2010 census.

The Jewish Cemetery of New Bedford, Massachusetts is located in the far north of the city, on Old Plainville Road, just north of New Bedford Regional Airport. The cemetery was established in 1898 as the principal burying ground for two congregations, Chesed Shel Emes and Ahavath Achim. It is the second Jewish cemetery in the city; the first, a small section of Peckham West Cemetery, was filled up in the 1890s. The developed portion of the cemetery lands is about 13 acres (5.3 ha), with another 24.5 acres (9.9 ha) that is undeveloped forest. The cemetery land is now owned by a number of organizations: the Tifereth Israel congregation owns about 19 acres (7.7 ha), Ahavath Achim owns 5.25 acres (2.12 ha), and two small parcels are owned by other organizations. Entrances to the cemetery are marked by stone posts with bronze plaques. There is also the Temple Sinai section that sits in the grounds of the New Bedford airport that was accessible from the Old Plainville Road but is now blocked off. The cemetery was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2014. It is noted for its significance with the growth of the Jewish community in New Bedford, and for its encapsulation of changing Jewish funerary customs, and their difference from those of other ethnic and religious groups.
