Cannock Chase

Brindley Heath is an area of heath land on Cannock Chase situated between Hednesford and Rugeley in the Cannock Chase District of Staffordshire, England. The area also forms a civil parish, which at the 2001 census, had a population of 862, decreasing to 827 at the 2011 Census.

Pye Green BT Tower is a 96.9 metres (318 ft) tall telecommunication tower built of reinforced concrete at Pye Green, Staffordshire, England (grid reference SJ987142). Standing in Cannock Chase, it is one of fourteen telecommunication towers in the United Kingdom built of reinforced concrete. Pye Green was constructed as part of the British Cold War "Backbone" radio communications network. Its combination of elevation and height give it line-of-sight to the BT Tower in Birmingham and Sutton Common in Cheshire.

Pye Green is part of Hednesford, Staffordshire, England, running from Chadsmoor and Hednesford, across the Pye Green valley and to the edge of The Chase. It is situated between the A34 and A460 roads. The area consists mainly of mixed private and council housing stock, with many of the latter being privately purchased. The area also boasts an above average performing primary school and few shops near the former open cast coal mine site, now disused and a large, public open space. Pye Green climbs to a high point and Birmingham city centre can be clearly seen when the weather is good. As a result of this, Pye Green hosts the local BT communications tower landmark (which can be seen from the nearby M6 motorway, relaying line-of-sight microwave communication links for similar towers at Sutton Common in Cheshire and the tower in the centre of Birmingham, eventually down to London BT Tower. Pye Green also has a local community centre where various activities are held for the local area. House prices are mixed across the area. The nearest railway station is Hendesford on the Chase Line between Birmingham New Street and Rugeley Trent Valley. Bus services are provided by Chaserider circular services 25/26 with a 15-minute frequency, Mon-Sat.

Cannock Chase is a local government district in Staffordshire, England. Its council is based in the town of Cannock; other notable towns are Rugeley, and Hednesford. The district covers a large part of the Cannock Chase Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, from which it takes its name. The district was formed on 1 April 1974 by the merger of Cannock and Rugeley urban districts, along with Brindley Heath from Lichfield Rural District, and Norton Canes from Aldridge-Brownhills Urban District. Cannock, which covers around 30% of the population, includes the parish of Bridgtown but the rest of Cannock is unparished. Until the 2010 general election the parliamentary constituency of Cannock Chase consisted of Cannock Chase district plus the adjacent village of Huntington. From 2010 onwards the constituency has exactly the same boundaries as the district. Since 2011, Cannock Chase has formed part of both the Greater Birmingham & Solihull Local Enterprise Partnership (along with neighbouring authorities Birmingham, Bromsgrove, East Staffordshire, Lichfield, Redditch, Solihull, Tamworth and Wyre Forest), and Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire Local Enterprise Partnership.

Hednesford (pronounced HENZ-fərd) is a historic market town in the Cannock Chase district of Staffordshire, England. Cannock Chase is to the north, the town of Cannock 1.2 miles (1.9 km) to the south and Rugeley 4.6 miles (7.4 km) to the southwest.The population at the 2011 census was 17,343. It also comprises the civil parish of Hednesford and part of the civil parish of Brindley Heath.

Hednesford Park is a park located in Hednesford, Staffordshire, England. The park covers an area of 24 acres (9.7 hectares), consisting of a recreational field area, running track, skatepark, play area, cafe, and tennis courts. The park is adjacent to Hednesford town centre and the Hednesford Hills nature reserve.

Valley coal mine, commonly known as Valley Colliery, was a coal mine located in Hednesford, Staffordshire, UK on which today is the site of the Museum of Cannock Chase. The currently standing museum is housed in some of the buildings remaining from the Valley Colliery. Valley coal mine was a popular coal mine and a training centre until the 1950s.. Valley was just one of many major coal mines dotted about the Hednesford Hills, but Cannock Chase also contained many smaller coal mines.

Our Lady of Lourdes Church is the Roman Catholic church of Hednesford in Cannock Chase, Staffordshire, England. A Grade II listed building, it was built in 1928–34 together with a Lourdes grotto and is a pilgrimage church.
