Cannock Chase is a local government district in Staffordshire, England. Its council is based in the town of Cannock; other notable towns are Rugeley, and Hednesford. The district covers a large part of the Cannock Chase Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, from which it takes its name. The district was formed on 1 April 1974 by the merger of Cannock and Rugeley urban districts, along with Brindley Heath from Lichfield Rural District, and Norton Canes from Aldridge-Brownhills Urban District. Cannock, which covers around 30% of the population, includes the parish of Bridgtown but the rest of Cannock is unparished. Until the 2010 general election the parliamentary constituency of Cannock Chase consisted of Cannock Chase district plus the adjacent village of Huntington. From 2010 onwards the constituency has exactly the same boundaries as the district. Since 2011, Cannock Chase has formed part of both the Greater Birmingham & Solihull Local Enterprise Partnership (along with neighbouring authorities Birmingham, Bromsgrove, East Staffordshire, Lichfield, Redditch, Solihull, Tamworth and Wyre Forest), and Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire Local Enterprise Partnership.

Hazelslade is a former mining village in Staffordshire, England. It is now part of Cannock Chase District. The village is located between Hednesford and Rugeley. It has been built into the Rawnsley area of Hednesford and is now effectively a suburban village of Hednesford. The village has a post office, a freehouse and housing estates. There was also a former mineral railway which ran from Hednesford to Burntwood. It can be seen from Google Maps as rows of trees curving around the former mining village and parts of Cannock Chase District to the Chase Line. There is also a bus service which connects the village to Cannock and Burntwood. The nearest mainline railway station is Hednesford. The pub is also named the Hazelslade. The nearest churches are in Church Hill and Hednesford.

Slitting Mill is a small village on the outskirts of Rugeley, Staffordshire. At the 2001 census, it had a population of 265.The village is within Rugeley civil parish, although it is a short distance from the rest of the town and has a distinct identity. Horns Pool is a popular local location for anglers. The village was once known as Stonehouse, but later changed its name to Slitting Mill. These slitting mills specialized in the production of nails. Slitting Mill was named after the mills that were situated there during the 17th and 18th centuries. A water pumping station, owned by South Staffordshire Water, draws water from the ground beneath the village.

Fair Oak Academy was a mixed secondary school located in Rugeley in the English county of Staffordshire.Previously known as Fair Oak High School, the school gained specialist status as a Business and Enterprise College and was renamed Fair Oak Business and Enterprise College. In September 2011 the school converted to academy status and was renamed Fair Oak Academy. The school was then sponsored by the Creative Education Trust, along with Hagley Park Academy and Rugeley Sixth Form Academy.In November 2015 the Creative Education Trust launched a consultation on the possibility of merging its academies in Rugeley. The plans foresaw the new school operating over two sites, with pupils in academic years 7, 8 and 9 housed at the Fair Oak Academy site as a lower school and years 10, 11, 12 and 13 housed at the Hagley Park Academy site as an upper school. The merger commenced in September 2016 with the new combined school known as The Hart School.

Hednesford Hills Raceway (often referred to as Hednesford Raceway) is an oval, short-circuit motor racing venue, situated on Cannock Chase, approximately 1-mile (1.6 km) from the town of Hednesford, Staffordshire, England and is operated by Incarace Ltd.

Littleworth is an area of Cannock Chase District, Staffordshire, England. The area is mainly residential and industrial. It is located between Wimblebury and Hazelslade. There is a bus service that connects the area with Cannock and Burntwood. The nearest railway station is in Cannock. There is also traces of the former mineral line which ran through the area to Norton Junction from the Chase Line. It is traceable from Nelson Drive and can be seen on Google Maps as a row of trees.

The Hart School is a secondary education academy in Rugeley, England, UK. The school is divided across two sites, and was formed in September 2016 following the merger of Hagley Park Academy and Fair Oak Academy. This was consulted upon and approved in the academic year for 2015–16. The uniform consists of a grey blazer with blue trim; a grey tie with orange, blue and green stripes; a shirt; plain black trousers or a knee-length skirt; and black shoes.The Hart of Rugeley is the school's student-led newspaper, published every term. The Hart school has a capacity of 1238 and currently has 1128 admissions.

Etchinghill, also known as Etching Hill, was once a singular village, until it was engulfed by the simultaneous growth of Rugeley, Staffordshire. It is now an electoral district/ward. Etching Hill is situated just over one mile from the actual town centre. Its name historically derives from the large, forested hill on Mount Road - famed for its characteristic ice-age sandstone tip. Etching Hill backs on to Cannock Chase and comprises several housing estates; a recognisable mixture of buildings from the town's early years and numerous modern developments. The area is much-coveted by those looking to move to Rugeley because of its scenic qualities and the presence of two successful primary schools. Etching Hill is a very short distance away from the forest location that has hosted open-air concerts for music acts such as Status Quo, The Zutons, Jools Holland, and UB40. The event, scheduled by the Forestry Commission, was subject to much controversy; certain local residents of neighbouring Slitting Mill harboured fears that the successive performances would be detrimental to the local wildlife and disruptive to the local population. This was proved to be unfounded. The venue continues to attract big names on a yearly basis. Etching Hill is also the home of Rugeley Cricket and Tennis Clubs, and was the location of a horse racing course in the 1800s.

Valley coal mine, commonly known as Valley Colliery, was a coal mine located in Hednesford, Staffordshire, UK on which today is the site of the Museum of Cannock Chase. The currently standing museum is housed in some of the buildings remaining from the Valley Colliery. Valley coal mine was a popular coal mine and a training centre until the 1950s.. Valley was just one of many major coal mines dotted about the Hednesford Hills, but Cannock Chase also contained many smaller coal mines.

Hagley Park Academy was originally founded as Hagley Park County Secondary Modern in 1955 and was located in Rugeley, Staffordshire. Later it was rebuilt and changed its name to Hagley Park Sports College, becoming Hagley Park Academy between 2011 and 2015. This was a mixed secondary school which was part of the Creative Education Trust, along with Fair Oak Academy and Rugeley Sixth Form Academy.In November 2015 the Creative Education Trust launched a consultation on the possibility of merging its academies in Rugeley. The plans foresaw the new school operating over two sites, with pupils in academic years 7, 8 and 9 housed at the Fair Oak Academy site as a lower school and years 10, 11, 12 and 13 housed at the Hagley Park Academy site as an upper school. The merger commenced in September 2016, and The Hart School opened in its place, using the Hagley Park site to house 'Upper School' years (10, 11, 12 and 13). From January 2021 to March 2022, during the COVID-19 pandemic, former Hagley Park Academy facilities were used as a free walk-in COVID-19 testing site.

Prospect Village is a small village in the Cannock Chase District of Staffordshire, West Midlands, England. Located between Burntwood and Hednesford. The village is very small with residential houses, a village hall, a pub and service garage. The near churches are in Gentleshaw and Cannock Wood. The village was on a mineral-only line from Hednesford to Burntwood. A former embankment is still visible on Ironstone Road and Cannock Wood Road

Cannock Chase (grid reference SK000165), often referred to locally as The Chase, is a mixed area of countryside in the county of Staffordshire, England. The area has been designated as the Cannock Chase Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is managed by Forestry England. The Chase gives its name to the Cannock Chase local government district. It is a former Royal forest.
