Dosrius Castle

Dosrius is a municipality in the comarca of Maresme in Catalonia, Spain, located in the interior of the comarca on the border with the Eastern Valleys, and is at the head of the Argentona Riera. The original name, first recorded in 963, is "Duos Rios". This literally means "Two Rivers" and refers to the 2 rivers that join to form the Argentona Riera, and is reflected in the coat of arms. These rivers are rarely flowing, though quickly fill during wet weather causing disruption in the village owing to the narrow streets being one way. Newer housing and the school are on the other side of the river, and egress from housing further up the valley frequently takes this route owing to the poor condition of the newly built "Ronda de Dalt" (Upper Bypass). A bridge has been built that would alleviate this problem, though this still hasn't been opened due to the currently suspended construction work that is part of the same development. It is unknown when the bridge will be open to traffic.

The Coll de Can Bordoi is a mountain pass on the B-510 road across the Catalan Coastal Range from Dosrius to Llinars del Vallès. The pass lies in the municipality of Llinars del Vallès, comarca of Vallès Oriental, province of Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain.The pass reaches a height of 318.1 metres (1,044 ft) above sea level and is in the Parc del Montnegre i el Corredor. The farmhouse of Can Bordoi is situated 100 metres (330 ft) to the west of the pass and is included in the Inventory of the Architectural Heritage of Catalonia.The GR 92 long distance footpath, which roughly follows the length of the Mediterranean coast of Spain, has a staging point on the pass. Stage 15 links northwards to Vallgorguina, a distance of 14.3 kilometres (8.9 mi), whilst stage 16 links southwards to Coll de la Font de Cera, a distance of 23.0 kilometres (14.3 mi).

Canyamars is one of the three villages that comprise the municipality of Dosrius, in the comarca of Maresme, Catalonia, Spain. It is situated in the base of the valley between the mountains of Corredor and Montalt.

The Llinars Bridge this bridge is the first steel structure in the high-speed railway (HSR) joining Barcelona and the French Border. The 1,883-foot-long (574 m) Llinars HSR bridge comprises two parts: a 1,008-foot-long (307 m) composite steel–concrete structure crossing Autopista AP-7, and a continuous prestressed concrete bridge crossing the Mogent River with a maximum span of 157 feet (48 m). After analyzing many possible color combinations for the Llinars bridge, the designers selected blue for the members above the deck level and gray for the bottom of the longitudinal beams. This combination was intended to make the structure appear more slender.

Llinars del Vallès (Spanish: Llinás del Vallés) is a village and a municipality in the comarca of Vallès Oriental, in the province of Barcelona and autonomous community of Catalonia, Spain. That village forms part of the county of Baix Montseny. Its municipal term goes by the mountain of the Massís del Montseny to the Serralada Litoral. The dry agriculture is more abundant than the wet, that only predomines in the Mogent river. The forests are mediterranean (pines and holm oaks), though in the Serralada Litoral there are also oaks and cork oaks. It is about 25 miles (40 km) northeast of Barcelona.

The Argentona Water Jug Museum (Catalan: Museu del Càntir d'Argentona), in Barcelona, founded in 1975, is located in a building which opened on 20 July 2000. The origins of the museum can be found in the Water Jug Festival, which is celebrated on 4 August every year since 1951, upholding a traditional celebration dating back to the 17th century, brought about by a ‘vow of the town' to Saint Dominic, patron saint of water, to protect Argentona from a grave pestilence. Every year, coinciding with the Water Jug Festival, the Water Jug Museum organises the International Ceramic and Pottery Festival, the dates of which vary according to the day on which 4 August falls, in order to disseminate and promote the conservation of traditional pottery and the new values of the ceramics being produced.

Argentona is a municipality in the comarca of the Maresme in Catalonia, Spain. It is situated on the south-east side of the granite Litoral range, to the north-west of Mataró. The town is both a tourist centre and a notable horticultural centre. A local road links the municipality with Cabrera de Mar and with the main N-II road at Vilassar de Mar. The town centre has buildings in a wide range of styles. The late gothic church of Sant Julià was restored by Josep Puig i Cadafalch. The same architect designed Casa Gari, a private residence adjoining the chapel of Sant Miquel del Cros, a work in the style of Antoni Gaudí by Lluís Bonet (1929). There are several buildings from the 16th to the 17th centuries, as well as the Roman chapel of La Mare de Déu del Viver and the benedictine priory of Sant Pere de Clarà. There is an interesting museum dedicated to water jugs, the Argentona Water Jug Museum, in which there are exhibited more than 700 pieces, including four ceramic works by Pablo Picasso. The town festival (Festa Major) occurs every 4 August, to celebrate Saint Dominic. The mayor of this town is Eudald Calvo Català.

Cardedeu (Catalan pronunciation: [ˌkaɾðəˈðɛw]) is a small town in the comarca of Vallès Oriental in the province of Barcelona and autonomous community of Catalonia, Spain. It is near Granollers, the capital of Vallès Oriental, and it is placed between Serralada Litoral and Montseny. Cardedeu is a small town of medieval origin, with the first written reference known dated in the year 941.

The Museu de la Pagesia (Rural Life Museum), in Castellbisbal, Vallès Occidental, was created to preserve and disseminate local cultural heritage associated with agricultural life. The Museum’s collection comprises homemade tools and those for use in the fields, photographs and personal accounts, which create a permanent exhibition that gives an overview of traditional farming in the town, work in the field and the social structure of rural life. The permanent exhibition is divided into three areas: the people, the land, and market and transport. The Museum is part of the Barcelona Provincial Council Local Museum Network.

The Cardadeu Tomàs Balvey Museum-Archive (Catalan: Museu-Arxiu Tomàs Balvey), in Cardedeu, Vallès Oriental, is organised around the legacy of Tomàs Balvey i Bas (1865–1954), the last of a line of apothecaries in Cardedeu. The theme of the museum is based on the pharmacy and its pharmacist, focusing on the world of illness, remedies and health. The Museum-Archive is part of the Barcelona Provincial Council Local Museum Network and of the Catalan Pharmacy Museum Network.

Rocafonda is a neighbourhood of the city of Mataró in Catalonia, Spain. Rocafonda was built in the 1960s to accommodate immigration from southern Spanish regions such as Andalusia and Extremadura. While the rest of Mataró had low houses, high tower blocks were built in Rocafonda, producing a high population density. Rapid immigration led to shortages of school places and poor roads and water supply, leading to the formation of an organised neighbourhood group in the 1970s. In the 1990s, Rocafonda's original southern Spanish inhabitants moved to richer neighbourhoods, and foreign migrants moved in due to the low cost of living. In 2023, Rocafonda had a population of 11,664. Of these, 52% were born outside Catalonia, including 37% born abroad. Its percentage of foreign-born residents was 17 and 19 percentage points higher than the figures for Mataró and Spain as a whole, respectively. Of the foreign population, 58% are from Morocco. Around half of the Rocafonda population lives below the poverty line, and as of 2021, it is the area with the lowest income in the comarca of Maresme. The neighbourhood gained international attention during UEFA Euro 2024 due to Lamine Yamal, a Spain national football team player raised there. He celebrated his goals by gesturing the number "304", referring to the local postcode of 08304. José Manuel Gómez Jurado, a politician of the party Por Andalucía, repeated the gesture in the Parliament of Andalusia in response to an anti-immigration speech by Vox's Purificación Fernández.
