Radford University

Halwyck, also known as the James Hoge Tyler House, is a historic home located in Radford, Virginia. It was built in 1892, and is a large two-story, three-bay, Queen Anne brick dwelling on a wooded bluff-top lot overlooking bottomland along the New River. It has a central-passage, T-plan dwelling and a hipped roof. The house was the principal residence of Governor James Hoge Tyler and his wife, Susan Hammet Tyler, from the time it was built until their deaths in the 1920s.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1997. Governor Tyler spelled the name of his home “Halwick,” and it carried this spelling while owned by him and his descendants, as documented by family photographs and numerous sources within the writings of Governor Tyler. When the home was added to the National Register of Historic Places the name of the home was changed to "Halwyck." One of the many sources that document the spelling of the home while owned by Governor Tyler is the book "The Family of Hoge: A Genealogy Compiled by James Hoge Tyler" (see page 66). The Patrick D. Cupp Stadium (usually called Cupp Stadium) is a multi-use stadium located in Radford, Virginia on the campus of Radford University. Cupp Stadium seats 5,000 with a roof over the premium seats. The stadium is used by Radford's soccer, track and field and lacrosse teams.

The Dedmon Center is a 3,800-seat multi-purpose arena in Radford, Virginia. Construction started in 1979 and finished in 1981. A natatorium featuring an eight-lane olympic-size pool with a diving well was added in 1987. The Dedmon Center is home to the Radford University Highlanders basketball team. The center is named for Dr. Donald Dedmon, who served as president of Radford University from 1972 until 1995 when he retired. It was the tenth air-supported roof built in the United States. The air-supported fabric roof was removed during a major renovation in April 2008 and replaced with a fabric roof supported by steel trusses. The Dedmon Center reopened on January 21, 2009, with a new lights system, sound system, and a new basketball floor. The venue hosted the final of the 2009 Big South Conference men's basketball tournament and the final of the 2018 and 2019 Big South Conference men's tournament. The Dedmon Center also houses the athletic department's new Learning Enhancement Center (LEC), dedicated to student-athlete support services and a state-of-the-art, 5,000-square-foot (460 m2) weight room dedicated to the needs of the university's 16 varsity athletic teams. The complex features several adjoining facilities, including intramural soccer, football and softball fields and intercollegiate fields and courts for baseball, softball, field hockey, Lacrosse, and tennis. In addition the Patrick D. Cupp Stadium adds an intercollegiate soccer and track and field complex.

Williams Field at Carter Memorial Stadium is a baseball venue on the campus of Radford University in Radford, Virginia, United States. It is home to the Radford Highlanders of the NCAA Division I Big South Conference. The field opened in 1986 and underwent extensive renovations in 2011. Its capacity is 800 spectators, with a grass area down the left field line allowing for overflow crowds.Other uses of the stadium include baseball camps and high school baseball tournaments.

Arnheim is a historic plantation house located at Radford, Virginia. It was built between 1838 and 1840, and is a two-story, three-bay, Federal / Greek Revival–style brick dwelling. It is a symmetrical double-pile plan dwelling, 40 feet square, and sitting on a raised brick basement. In 1939, it was converted into a home economics annex for the adjacent Radford High School. Arnheim was built by Dr. John Blair Radford, for whom the City of Radford is named. The property also includes a documented contributing archaeological site.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.

Radford (formerly Lovely Mount, Central City, English Ferry and Ingle's Ferry) is an independent city in the U.S. state of Virginia. As of 2020, the population was 16,070 by the United States Census Bureau. For statistical purposes, the Bureau of Economic Analysis combines the city of Radford with neighboring Montgomery County. Radford is included in the Blacksburg–Christiansburg metropolitan area. Radford is the home of Radford University. Despite its name, the Radford Arsenal, historically a major employer of city residents, is in neighboring Pulaski and Montgomery counties. Radford City has four schools: McHarg Elementary, Belle Heth Elementary, Dalton Intermediate, and Radford High School.

Harvey House, also known as the Dimmick-Harvey House, is a historic home located at Radford, Virginia. It was built in 1891–92 by J.K. Dimmock who started the Radford Foundry. When Dimmock left Radford, the house was inhabited by several families until the Harveys purchased the home, which is where its common name derives. The Harvey House is a large 2+1⁄2-story Queen Anne frame dwelling. Its rectangular plan by well known Philadelphia architect Frank Miles Day, features bays, an oriel window, and gabled dormers on a hipped roof. It also has a deep verandah with sinuous curves and shingled surfaces. Also on the property are a contributing early barn/workshop and a carriage house.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.

Fairlawn is a census-designated place (CDP) in Pulaski County, Virginia, United States. The population was 2,419 at the 2020 census up from 2,367 at the 2010 census. It is served by the Radford, Virginia post office and is located on the opposite side of the New River from Radford. Fairlawn is part of the Blacksburg–Christiansburg Metropolitan Statistical Area. Fairlawn is home to NASCAR sanctioned track Pulaski County Motorsports Park, formerly known as Motor Mile Speedway.

West Radford Commercial Historic District is a national historic district located at Radford, Virginia. It encompasses 19 contributing buildings in a commercial section of West Radford. It was developed after 1890, and includes several fine examples of Victorian and early-20th century commercial buildings. Notable buildings include the Radford Trust Co. Building, the Ashmead Building and the Commercial Block.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.
