Parc-y-Dwrlyn Ground is a cricket ground in Pentyrch, Glamorgan. The first recorded match on the ground was in 1993, when Glamorgan played Northamptonshire in a List-A match in the 1993 AXA Equity and Law League.In local domestic cricket, the ground is the home venue of Pentyrch Cricket Club who play in the South Wales Cricket League.

Craig-y-parc House is a country house in Pentyrch, Cardiff, Wales. Dating from 1914 to 1918, it was built for Thomas Evans, a colliery owner, by Charles Edward Mallows. The house reputedly cost £100,000. Craig-y-parc is a Grade II* listed building. The garden and park surrounding the house has its own Grade II* listing on the Cadw/ICOMOS Register of Parks and Gardens of Special Historic Interest in Wales, is a designated conservation area and contains a number of listed structures. The house now operates as a residential school for children and young adults with disabilities.

Llwynda-Ddu Camp, also known as Llwynda-Ddu Hillfort, is a small Iron Age earthwork in Pentyrch, Cardiff in South Wales. The site is a scheduled monument, described as a prehistoric, defensive hillfort.The plan of the camp is egg-shaped and lies at the western end of a small hill at a height of approximately 120 metres (390 ft). The ground falls away sharply on all sides except the eastern end. The entrance is at the smaller south-western end.The camp probably comprised two ramparts with ditches but much of the outer ring has been destroyed. The entrance is a straight causeway which interrupts the inner and outer rings. The height of the bank is approximately 2.5 metres (8 ft) higher than the ditch bottom. The inner area measures 85 metres (279 ft) by 60 metres (200 ft) giving an area of 0.4 hectares (1 acre). The site has been cultivated, with a modern dwelling nearby. It is suggested that the camp belonged to the Silures.

Garth Hill (usually called The Garth, or Garth Mountain; Welsh: Mynydd y Garth) is a hill located in between the communities of Llantwit Fardre and Pentyrch in Wales. The Garth can be seen from nearly the whole of the city of Cardiff and the Taff Valley, and on a sunny, clear day as far as Weston-super-Mare across the Bristol Channel in southwest England. It lies adjacent to the Taff Vale with the village of Pentyrch on one side and looks down onto the small villages of Gwaelod-y-Garth and Taff's Well. The Garth has a number of tumuli on its top. These are burial sites dating from the early to middle Bronze Age.Fine views of Cardiff and the Taff valley are obtained from the prominent crag. The Garth has a sister hill, the Lesser Garth. The Lesser Garth is of limestone, which is extensively quarried with much of the hill removed; it was also formerly mined for iron ore. The valley between the two is eroded in softer coal measures, shales in the main, while the Garth is formed of the resistant Pennant sandstone formation. Until the 19th century, the valley and the lower slopes of the Garth facing Taff's Well were full of small coal mines which fed the ironworks below in the River Taff valley, opposite Taff's Well. There is now little trace of these although Y Lan Colliery has recently had its portal partly restored as a memorial to an explosion in 1875. A cleared path now leads to this, near the primary school. The access road to Pentyrch village, Heol Goch, runs between the main and lesser Garth. Christopher Monger, a native of Taff's Well, wrote the novel The Englishman who Went up a Hill but Came down a Mountain. The location of the fictional Ffynnon Garw above the writer's home village suggests that it is the Garth and the mound on which the trigonometrical point stands is a Bronze Age burial mound. Monger adapted the story for the 1995 film of the same title on which he was the director. The popularity of the film has resulted in a stream of visitors climbing to the summit of Garth Mountain to view the location.

Creigiau & St. Fagans was a rural electoral ward on the western edge of Cardiff, Wales.

Rhydlafar is a small settlement in Wales located on the outskirts of Cardiff being around 5 miles west of the city centre and 5 miles south-east of Llantrisant. The village falls within the community and ward of Creigiau & St Fagans. It was formerly the site of the specialist Prince of Wales Orthopaedic Hospital, and the settlement essentially comprises a recent housing estate development built over the former hospital.

Cardiff West services (Welsh: Gwasanaethau Gorllewin Caerdydd) is a motorway service station on junction 33 of the M4 motorway and the Capel Llanilltern junction of the A4232 near Cardiff, Wales. It is owned by Moto. In 2008, the services won the AA Patrol Approved Awards for best toilet.The services has previously acted as a site for escorting fans to Cardiff City FC games, because of travelling restrictions imposed on away fans visiting the city. These restrictions were relaxed in 2010, but the services continued to act as a sales point for match vouchers. Subsequently, the services has become well known to Cardiff City fans, particularly after a prominent appearance in the situation comedy Gavin & Stacey.In 2004, the services was the site of several protests over the rise in fuel duty. In May, 50 heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) entered the services' car park as the ending point of a "go slow" demonstration along the M4. In June, the site was chosen as a meeting place for another protest. 150 HGVs made a journey from the services to the centre of Cardiff.In 2010, rugby player Andy Powell was arrested at the services for allegedly driving a stolen golf buggy while intoxicated.

Ty Du Moor is a Site of Special Scientific Interest in Glamorgan, south Wales.

Creigiau railway station was a railway station in Creigiau in south Wales. It was on the Barry Railway between Efail Isaf and Wenvoe, which ran broadly north–south through Creigiau. To the east of the station, a second former line headed north-west towards Llantrisant, and south-east towards Cardiff. There was no connection between these lines; the Barry Railway line passed over the former Llantrisant and Taff Vale Junction Railway's and later Taff Vale Railway's Waterhall branch to the north of the station. During the Second World War, the station was used to transfer American military to the nearby hospital at Rhydlafar. The Railway closed in 1962. Both platforms remain, albeit rather overgrown. The site of the station buildings and yard is now used by a coach operator.

Gwaelod-y-garth (Welsh for Foot of the Garth) is a village in the community of Pentyrch, Cardiff in Wales.

Creigiau is a dormitory settlement in the north-west of Cardiff, the capital of Wales. The village currently has about 1,500 houses and a population of approximately 5,000 people. The Cardiff electoral ward is called Creigiau & St Fagans. The village has a strong Welsh-speaking community, and along with Pentyrch has one of the largest clusters of Welsh-speakers in Cardiff. 23.4% of the village speaks Welsh.
