Cardiff West services (Welsh: Gwasanaethau Gorllewin Caerdydd) is a motorway service station on junction 33 of the M4 motorway and the Capel Llanilltern junction of the A4232 near Cardiff, Wales. It is owned by Moto. In 2008, the services won the AA Patrol Approved Awards for best toilet.The services has previously acted as a site for escorting fans to Cardiff City FC games, because of travelling restrictions imposed on away fans visiting the city. These restrictions were relaxed in 2010, but the services continued to act as a sales point for match vouchers. Subsequently, the services has become well known to Cardiff City fans, particularly after a prominent appearance in the situation comedy Gavin & Stacey.In 2004, the services was the site of several protests over the rise in fuel duty. In May, 50 heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) entered the services' car park as the ending point of a "go slow" demonstration along the M4. In June, the site was chosen as a meeting place for another protest. 150 HGVs made a journey from the services to the centre of Cardiff.In 2010, rugby player Andy Powell was arrested at the services for allegedly driving a stolen golf buggy while intoxicated.

Pencoed House is a house with medieval origins, close to Capel Llaniltern in the community of Pentyrch, Cardiff, Wales. Dating mainly from the 16th and 17th centuries, it is a Grade II* listed building. The house now operates as a wedding and events venue.

St-y-Nyll is a large detached house near the village of St. Brides-super-Ely in the Vale of Glamorgan. It was built in 1924 by the Welsh architect Percy Thomas in the Neo-Georgian style. A Tudor mansion dating from the 1480s had previously stood on the site. It has been listed Grade II by Cadw since June 1977. It was put up for sale in 2000 for £715,000 and was described as having 13.4 acres (5.4 ha) of grounds. The interior is noted for its plaster cornices, parquet floors, and original fireplaces dating from the 17th century, the Georgian period, and in the style of Robert Adam. It sold for £1.5 million in June 2020.

St. Brides-super-Ely is a village and district of the community of Peterston-super-Ely, within the Vale of Glamorgan, South Wales. It is located near the western border of the Welsh Capital City of Cardiff, to the west of the A4232, and north of the River Ely. The medieval Church of St Ffraid at St. Brides is Grade II listed. An ancient yew tree stands in the churchyard near the south porch. It is 24 ft in diameter at its lower crown.The Grade II listed house St-y-Nyll stands just outside the village. It was designed by Percy Thomas and built in 1924.

Craig-y-parc House is a country house in Pentyrch, Cardiff, Wales. Dating from 1914 to 1918, it was built for Thomas Evans, a colliery owner, by Charles Edward Mallows. The house reputedly cost £100,000. Craig-y-parc is a Grade II* listed building. The garden and park surrounding the house has its own Grade II* listing on the Cadw/ICOMOS Register of Parks and Gardens of Special Historic Interest in Wales, is a designated conservation area and contains a number of listed structures. The house now operates as a residential school for children and young adults with disabilities.

Parc-y-Dwrlyn Ground is a cricket ground in Pentyrch, Glamorgan. The first recorded match on the ground was in 1993, when Glamorgan played Northamptonshire in a List-A match in the 1993 AXA Equity and Law League.In local domestic cricket, the ground is the home venue of Pentyrch Cricket Club who play in the South Wales Cricket League.

Rhydlafar is a small settlement in Wales located on the outskirts of Cardiff being around 5 miles west of the city centre and 5 miles south-east of Llantrisant. The village falls within the community and ward of Creigiau & St Fagans. It was formerly the site of the specialist Prince of Wales Orthopaedic Hospital, and the settlement essentially comprises a recent housing estate development built over the former hospital.

Llwynda-Ddu Camp, also known as Llwynda-Ddu Hillfort, is a small Iron Age earthwork in Pentyrch, Cardiff in South Wales. The site is a scheduled monument, described as a prehistoric, defensive hillfort.The plan of the camp is egg-shaped and lies at the western end of a small hill at a height of approximately 120 metres (390 ft). The ground falls away sharply on all sides except the eastern end. The entrance is at the smaller south-western end.The camp probably comprised two ramparts with ditches but much of the outer ring has been destroyed. The entrance is a straight causeway which interrupts the inner and outer rings. The height of the bank is approximately 2.5 metres (8 ft) higher than the ditch bottom. The inner area measures 85 metres (279 ft) by 60 metres (200 ft) giving an area of 0.4 hectares (1 acre). The site has been cultivated, with a modern dwelling nearby. It is suggested that the camp belonged to the Silures.

Castle Farmhouse is a medieval farmhouse in St Georges super Ely, in the Vale of Glamorgan, south Wales. Its origins are as part of the Norman castle of the Le Flemings, after which it declined in status, first to a manor house, and subsequently to a farmstead. It was designated a Grade I listed building on 14 February 1952.

St Georges super Ely, also known as St Georges (Welsh: Sain Siorys), is a small village and community in the western outskirts of Cardiff, in the Vale of Glamorgan, South Wales. Lying to the northwest of Culverhouse Cross, between Peterston-super-Ely and Michaelston-super-Ely, it contains a medieval church and ruined manor house dated to the fifteenth century. The community includes the settlements of Drope, Downs and Sant-y-Nyll.
