Thwaite St Mary

Tindall Wood, Ditchingham is a 42.2-hectare (104-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest north of Ditchingham in Norfolk.This is one of the largest hornbeam woods in Norfolk. It is ancient coppice with standards, and the standards are oak, ash and hornbeam, and there are several uncommon species in the ground flora.The wood is private with no public access.

Seething Airfield (ICAO: EGSJ), formerly RAF Seething, is located 9 NM (17 km; 10 mi) south southeast of Norwich, East Anglia, England. Seething Airfield (EGSJ) is a privately owned airfield in Norfolk, England and is home to the Waveney Flying Group. Situated in the village of Mundham, paradoxically just outside of Seething, south east of Norwich and just a few miles from the East Coast. The aerodrome is officially open to visitors Saturdays and Sundays from 0900 to around 1700 hrs (sunset in winter). Founded in 1960, the Waveney Flying Group leased the former USAAF airbase from local farmers and went on to purchase the land in 1963. Its close proximity to Great Yarmouth meant it saw quite a bit of celebrity use in the 60s and 70s when stars such as The Hollies, The Rolling Stones and Mike and Bernie Winters dropped in. In latter years, the new millennium has seen both the club house and hangars developed culminating with their official opening by Wing Cdr. Ken Wallis MBE in 2001.

Mundham, historically Mundaham or Mundhala, is a small village and civil parish in the county of Norfolk, England. Archaeological and toponymic evidence of Mundham's existence predates its appearance in the Domesday survey of 1086, dating back to c.130 AD in the late Pax Romana period, however, it was not called Mundham until sometime between the 5th and 7th centuries, although there has been consistent activity in the area since the early Neolithic period. In the 2011 census, the population was 177 in 64 households, however in the 2021 census, the population had dropped to 147, in 67 households. The parish covers an area of 6.31 km2 (2.44 sq mi), and is approximately 9.1 miles (14.6 km) southeast of Norwich and 13.5 miles (21.7 km) west of Great Yarmouth. For the purposes of local government, it falls within the district of South Norfolk, however Mundham does have a parish council responsible for local matters laid down by law, including a role in local planning, it consists of five councillors, and a clerk. The village contains a number of heritage-listed buildings, which include a 12th-century church, multiple farmhouses, and the ruins of a 13th-century church. The fields and woodland surrounding Mundham have changed little in the past 500 years, and the village itself remains rural with a low population density compared to the national average.Mundham is located in the electoral district of Loddon, which is part of the South Norfolk district of the county of Norfolk, England. Near the centre of Mundham, there is a small stream which flows into the River Chet. Mundham borders the River Chet to the north, between Mundham and Bergh Apton, and is located 11 miles southeast of Norwich. In the west, it borders Seething, while in the northeast, it borders Sisland. In the southeast the extensions of Loddon reach. In the south Mundham borders Thwaite, and in the southwest it borders with Hedenham. The village sign is located near St Peter's Church, and depicts a series of houses in the foreground, with St Peter's church and the millennium oak in the background, the sign's supports are carved into a sheath of wheat, with a small mouse and a poppy hidden within them.

Ditchingham Hall is an English country house, near the village of Ditchingham in south Norfolk, England, which is set in about 2,000 acres (810 ha) of parkland landscaped by Capability Brown. The Hall is about 2 miles (3.2 km) northwest of Ditchingham off the B1332 road between Bungay, Suffolk and Norwich. It is the country house of Earl Ferrers since it was inherited by the 13th Countess Ferrers. The current owner is Robert William Saswalo Shirley, 14th Earl Ferrers. It is a private house and not open to the public.

Hedenham Wood is a 23.4-hectare (58-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest north of Hedenham in Norfolk.Most of this ancient wood on boulder clay is hornbeam coppice with oak standards, but the wet valley bottom has ash, maple and elm. The diverse ground flora includes some uncommon species.The site is private with no public access.

Seething is a village and civil parish in the English county of Norfolk. It is around 8+1⁄2 miles (13.7 km) south-east of Norwich and 2+3⁄4 miles (4.4 km) west of Loddon in the South Norfolk district. Neighbouring parishes include Bergh Apton, Kirstead, Woodton, Hedenham and Mundham. The village lies to the west of the A146 Norwich to Lowestoft road and east of the B1332 Norwich to Bungay road. The parish covers an area of 6.78 km2 (2.62 sq mi) and had a population of 341 in 141 households at the 2001 census, with the population increasing to 365 at the 2011 Census.The parish church, which is dedicated to St Margaret and St Remigius, is one of 124 existing round-tower churches in Norfolk.Seething Airfield, formerly RAF Seething, is to the south of the village. The area of the airfield is on the parish boundary, with most of the area of the current operation in the parish of Mundham. Seething Observatory, which is located on the airfield site, is within Mundham.

Broome Heath Pit is a 1.2-hectare (3.0-acre) geological Site of Special Scientific Interest east of Ditchingham in Norfolk. It is a Geological Conservation Review site and part of Broome Heath Local Nature ReserveThis site exposes rocks dating to the Wolstonian glaciation between around 350,000 and 130,000 years ago. It provides the only surviving exposure of the Broome Terrace, the flood plain of an ancient river. Ice wedges and fossils of Arctic flora and fauna indicate a tundra environment.The site is open to the public but much of it is covered with dense scrub.

Sisland, historically Sislanda, is a very small village, manor and parish in the county of Norfolk, England, about a mile west of Loddon. In the 2001 census, the population was 44 in 16 households. The parish covers an area of 1.90 km2 (0.73 sq mi), and is approximately 9.3 miles (15.0 km) southeast of Norwich and 12.7 miles (20.4 km) west of Great Yarmouth. For the purposes of local government, it falls within the district of South Norfolk, however Sisland does have its own Parish Council. The village contains only one heritage-listed building, that being St Mary's Church, which is Grade II*.

Hedenham is a civil parish in the English county of Norfolk. It covers an area of 7.30 km2 (2.82 sq mi) and had a population of 173 in 70 households at the 2001 census, including Thwaite St. Mary and increasing to 240 at the 2011 Census. For the purposes of local government, it falls within the district of South Norfolk. The villages name means 'Hedena's homestead/village' or 'Hedena's hemmed-in land'.

South Norfolk is a constituency represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament since 2001 by Richard Bacon, a Conservative.

Royal Air Force Seething, or more simply RAF Seething , is a former Royal Air Force station located around 9 NM (17 km; 10 mi) south-east of Norwich, Norfolk, England. The base was located on the parish boundaries of Seething, Mundham and Hedenham.

Broome Heath is a 31.7-hectare (78-acre) Local Nature Reserve in Ditchingham in Norfolk, England. It is owned by South Norfolk District Council and managed by the Broads Authority. An area in the north is designated a geological Site of Special Scientific Interest as Broome Heath Pit, and there is a Scheduled Monument in the middle.This site in the valley of the River Waveney has marshy grazing land and lakes. At the southern end there is a Neolithic settlement, and in the middle there are long and round barrows.There is access from Loddon Road.
