Wragby railway station

Wragby ( RAG-bee) is a town and civil parish in the East Lindsey district of Lincolnshire, England. It is situated at the junction of the A157 and A158 roads, and approximately 10 miles (16 km) north-west from Horncastle and about 11 miles (18 km) north-east of Lincoln.

Langton by Wragby is a small village and civil parish in the East Lindsey district of Lincolnshire, England. It lies approximately 1 mile (1.6 km) south-east from Wragby, on the A158 Horncastle road. Langton Wood is a small, previously extra-parochial area, now included in the parish.The church is dedicated to St Giles, and is of 14th-century origin, although it was rebuilt in 1866. It is a Grade II listed building.Langton Court is the former vicarage, now a house, built in the middle of the 18th century with some 19th-century additions. It is a Grade II listed building.The early 13th-century Archbishop of Canterbury, Stephen Langton, was the son of Henry Langton of Langton by Wragby, and may have been born in a moated farmhouse west of the church.The "Stephen Langton Trail" devised to celebrate the 800th anniversary of the sealing of Magna Carta, starts in Langton by Wragby and leads to Lincoln, where there is an original copy of the charter.

Kingthorpe railway station was a railway station that served the village of Kingthorpe, Lincolnshire, England between 1874 and 1956, on the Louth to Bardney line.

It sits on the B1202 road from Wragby to Bardney, and 1 mile (1.6 km) to the east from the parish village of Apley. Kingthorp is one of five 'villages' represented in the Bardney Group Parish Council. The hamlet contains two Grade II listed late 18th-century brick farmhouses: Kingthorpe Farmhouse and Manor Farmhouse.

Goltho is a hamlet in the West Lindsey district of Lincolnshire, England. The population (including Bullington) was 157 at the 2011 census. It is situated 1 mile (1.6 km) south-west from Wragby, and 0.5 miles (0.8 km) south from the A158 road. Wragby and Goltho Limewood Walk, through one of the Lincolnshire Limewoods national nature reserves, passes Goltho Hall, Goltho Chapel and Goltho deserted medieval village.

St George's Church is a redundant Anglican church in the deserted village of Goltho, Lincolnshire, England. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II* listed building, and under the care of the Churches Conservation Trust. The church is in a field, and can be approached only by footpaths to the south of the A158 road, 2 miles (3 km) southwest of Wragby, and 11 miles (18 km) northeast of Lincoln. The church was the last evidence surviving above ground of the deserted medieval village and manorial holding dating from the ninth century on the site of a Romano-British settlement,. The church was severely fire damaged in 2013.

The 2001 Census recorded a West Torrington population of 69, increasing to 128 at the 2011 census.The village is a setting in Sebastian Faulks' 2005 novel Human Traces.

West Barkwith is a village and civil parish in the East Lindsey district of Lincolnshire, England. It is situated on the A157 road and about 2.5 miles (4.0 km) north-east from Wragby. The population is included in the civil parish of Benniworth. West Barkwith and its neighbour East Barkwith were mentioned in Domesday Book of 1086 as one entity and consisted of 26 households and a church.The parish church was medieval and dedicated to All Saints. The Diocese of Lincoln declared the church redundant in September 1981, and in February 1983 the church was demolished.

Apley is a hamlet and civil parish in the West Lindsey district of Lincolnshire, England. It is situated 1 mile (1.6 km) west from the hamlet of Kingthorpe and the site of Kingthorpe railway station, and approximately 2 miles (3 km) south-west from Wragby. Apley church, dedicated to St Andrew, is a small brick building erected in 1871 at a cost of £284. It was built to conduct burial services within the graveyard of the former and by then non-existing medieval Church of St Andrew's, which before 1816 had decayed and been reduced to its foundations. In the 19th century the churchyard also served the parish of Stainfield. Apley is recorded in White's Directory as a village and parish with a population of 231, and a land area of 1,658 acres (6.7 km2), 300 acres (1.2 km2) of which was woodland, and included the hamlets of Kingthorpe and Hop Lane. Apley professions and trades listed in 1872 included a parish clerk, a boot & shoemaker, six farmers, two of whom were at Kingthorpe, and two carriers, one of whom was a shopkeeper.Apley Beck marks the course of a 12th-century monastic canal linking Bullington Priory to Barlings eau.

It is situated approximately 9 miles (14 km) north-east from the city of Lincoln and approximately 2 miles (3 km) west from Wragby, and near the A158 road from Lincoln to Skegness. The nearest large town is Market Rasen, about 5 miles (8 km) north-east. The village is 87 feet (27 m) above sea level. The population is listed under Goltho. Rand was the home of the father of the 17th-century English writer James Harrington.

East Barkwith is a village and civil parish in the East Lindsey district of Lincolnshire, England. It is situated on the A157, and approximately 13 miles (21 km) north-east from the city and county town of Lincoln, The parish church is dedicated to Saint Mary and is a Grade II* listed building dating from the early 12th century, with later restorations, and is built of greenstone, limestone and ironstone.There was a school here which opened in January 1873 as a National School. and closed in April 1987 as East Barkwith CE School.The village was served by East Barkwith railway station which opened in 1876 and closed in 1958.East Barkwith civil parish includes the village of Panton. It also includes the deserted medieval village (DMV), of Hardwick, which is listed in the Domesday Book of 1086.
